  • I know the entrance riff ain't identical, but anyone here heard Kansas - "Carry on my wayward son" ?

  • @pestofrig

Of course we have! Prog rules. yeah, it's similar. wth. It still rocks lol!

  • Masterpiece

  • One of the finest instrumental rock pieces ever written...

  • Love the bass on this song

  • Reminds me of Heaven and Hell's double the pain

  • 2:22 best part of the song, have you heard that? Petrucci is the master of the strings!

  • @WhiteDeath Well, so is Tony ^^

Which is pretty well represented at that part!

  • the melody reminds me of Genesis, this might be my favorite song on this album.

    LTE is awesome.

  • Caviar is of course way better food, but who doesn't love a good hamburger now and then?

  • 10 people hit the dislike button

    get on with it

  • I defecated over the panties, it's spectacular

  • 10 people are not our Kindred Spirits.

  • those 10 fckheads probably wanted to download .. this is beautiful music bro

  • Rudess is so underrated.

  • Comment removed

  • The best part is from 4:52 onwards. Every note he played is beautiful.

  • FUCK METALLICA STUPID FAGS GTFO HERE

  • 1:29 to 2:22 Rudes - Petrucci duo *-*

2:34 to 3:43 one of best solos of Petrucci

3:43 to 4:48 one of best sinth solos of history ( in my opinion)

Ending with Rudess and Petrucci that become crazy !!!!!

    I LOVE THIS SONG

  • hello mars volta meets dream theater

  • i've been looking for this song everywhere thinking it was dream theater. i must be retarded.

  • @julianelmur You aren't retarded. You listen to dream theater.

  • @julianelmur this band is primarily members from dream theater. thought it was by DT for the longest too.

  • @julianelmur WELL ITS A SIDE PROJECT PETRUCCIAN PORTNOY MADE IT WASNT B4 DREAM THEATER BUT IT WAS THE SIDE PROJECTS OF THE 2 LEADING MEMBERS THIS IS HOW THEY GOT RUDESS THEY FOUND HIS WORK GOOD AN MADE HIM PERMANANT FOR DT

  • is this quadruple meter?

  • Wow, this is like the definition of my taste in music here.... perfect. Wish there were more artists like LTE.....

  • 1:16--

    2:35

  • My favorite LTE song hands down. The melody is just so AWESOME.

  • Thanks for posting this!

  • man this is soooooooo mellowwwwwwwwww

  • 10 people don't have soul or life u.u

  • 0:00 - 6:30 is my favorite part. hehe!

  • This is pornlike... just listen to that f*****ing hammond's organ sort of and lead at 0:27 - 0:57 awwwwwwwwwww!

  • @iVanHalen666

    Who's hammond?

  • @acaash Ouch... I think I made a mistake =P sorry Im not English.

I was talking bout the organ Jordan is using at that point I highlighted... I thought it was called Hammond Organ or something.

  • @iVanHalen666

No problem, I've found that people from other countries often speak better English than many Americans by the way, because they learn to speak properly from a book or teacher, rather than through street slang etc.

  • @iVanHalen666 no, no usa un hammond, pero esta bien lo que vos decis, es un teclado que actualmente ya no se fabrica más y que bandas como deep purple lo usaban mucho.

hammond was actually an organ really used by bands like deep purple, but jordan is not using it in this song

  • Great Song..! Check my Guitar Solo Cover of this one.. :D

  • Making love to the love of my life...during a thunderstorm...outside!!!

    For you R.E.S. :o)

  • john petrucci did guitar for them right?

  • eargasm

  • The main riff reminds me of Carry On My Wayward Son by Kansas

  • @condobleN me too :)

  • Petrucci. X3

  • It kind of sounds like Journey in their Escape album, just without Steve Perry.

John Petrucci and Neil Schon are among my favorite guitarists.

  • To all the haters out here. If you dont like this and appreciate it, then you dont know a damn thing about music.

  • fact of the matter is nothing can be compared to LTE- nothing is like it!

  • OMG WHAT THE SHIT SOMEONE VOTED DISLIKE THIS.. 10 PEOPLE DID!

    Blasphemy! VOTE UP!!!

  • Quality bad

  • This is in response to a comment I read earlier (can't find the guy who wrote, oh well) || Seriously? What is wrong with LaBrie's voice? I'd love to see you guys go from the high notes of Metropolis Pt 1. to something like A Rite Of Passage.

  • This whole song rocks, but from 4:52 on, Petrucci hits every note that you want to hear. Very uplifting guitar solo.

  • @DetroitSuperFunk That solo makes my hair crisp everytime

  • another LTE masterpiece

  • Absolutely wondermous. Twelve out of Ten, LTE forever

  • 0:56- 1:09

  • This song is fantastic...no comments!

  • My god, what is this mind blowing material?

  • Is real music, my friend.

    :D

  • Yes, it's a shame more people don't recognize and respect.

  • i luve when the bass kicks in

  • How is LTE like metallica in anyway lol? Fail

  • so this is the project for simple lines and catchy tunes? great stuff! <3

  • Why are we comparing LTE to Metallica, people?

Never heard anything like this from Metallica...

  • aha ah ah sometimes people is confused because of drugs dude! be patient

  • @NorrisChuckling The real answer is tha metallica could not play somethin like this beucause they don't have the skills to play songs likes these.....

  • Comment removed

  • @NorrisChuckling muahaha I guess someone said "Wrr Metallica > LTE" Stupid fags : P, I love metallica and LTE but, you cant just compare lte with metallica and metallica with lte

  • @NorrisChuckling I guess some ppl like comparing shyt(metallica) to caviar(LTE). Makes no sense but wtf

  • @chillichomper why is metallica shit? why cant some one love both bends? that idea didn't pop in ur little mind?

  • @chillichomper Is shyt another slightly less expensive fish egg, or is it what happens when I listen to this song!

  • T_T

  • i've met and talked to jordan rudess :) that guy is really mellow it's amazing how well he plays ^^

  • Well, metallica's is not a bad band, but with their new album, man, thats is comercial n sound bad, metallica before and justice for all ,went a fucking good band of metal, the best of thrash, but now...n slipknot, well , they r not bad playing his instruments...LTE 4 EVER!!!

  • DId I ever say metallica was bad? No, they are great. But LTE=Ownsource

  • 3:00 to 3:30 is the guitar playing i've ever heard

  • lol metallica had their day, now in post saint anger days they dont have what they used to, and should rest before they pull a kiss and have several reunion tours making fans look like morons. either way LTE is PwnZor

  • 2:02 to 2:05 HOW!

  • How come crap like metalica and slipknot are more popular than this? : (

  • cause this was an experiment.

  • seems if a band doesn't have sing-along vocals and a simple tune, the majority of people will be too ignorant to appreciate it. Throw in some pinch harmonics, simple breakdowns, and a bit of emo whining/screaming and you're onto a winner nowadays!

btw totally agree on Slipknot, but give Metallica some credit.

  • Because they've got agents, and promoters, and sponsors, and of course, record deals.

  • HEY!..Metallica ain't no shit! Slipknot ...well okey, u're right ....but metallica is acctualy pretty goddamn cool!

  • Dude i disagree. Metallica is great.

But Slipknot is generic bullshit your right.

Liquid Tension Experiment is awsomeness ..

  • How can you guys even compare Slipknot with Metallica, and LTE with Slipknot and Metallica? Like if it was the same genre or something. LTE makes 10 minute Prog song in 8/9, Metallica makes three minute Trash/speed/Heavy-Metal songs in 4/4, and Slipknot is just a shitty like Scream band

  • dont try to make generalities about bands if you have no idea about their songwriting. Metallica often (by often I mean almost always) goes beyond 3 mins and does alternate time signatures from 4/4. See master of puppets / and justice for all albums. Disposable heroes riff for example, DEFINITELY not 4/4. And Justice for All is one of the greatest thrash albums ever made. greatest albums aren't made in 4/4 concerning metal and related musical fields.

  • im not sure if there's such a note that is quoted as 9ths, so you should reverse it to 9/8 =] but anyways, LTE is just pure amazing jamming thats well coordinated. Metallica, were good back then, but let the commercial success get to them, slipknot, I don't even want to talk about I mean, there not bad, it's just there drummer is a bit over rated and that prevents me from getting into there music.

  • I like how you try to use correct grammar and punctuation but fail miserably at it. You should also learn the difference between there and their, fucking idiot.

  • 8/9?

  • *9/8 .

  • Well those bands aren't crap but LTE and DT are exceptional, unique, masterful craftsmen of musical bliss.

  • amazing song

    LTE rokcs everything

  • From: 2:21 to 4:50 ...It's so amazing!! *-*

  • from 1 second to 6.30 its absolutly amazing :)

  • a huge influence arise rush was kansas, i read that recently on an interview of John Petruccy.

Kansas is a nice band too^^

  • there music is mind blowing because every member is a god in there instrument. and every time i hear that music it makes me forget about all the problems......it makes me happy!!!

  • they are damn good all of them. top notch for sure. They have such a forgotten sound. They modernized that cheesy 80's sounds and make it tolerable and more than tolerable, they make it sound AMAZING!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Liquid Tension Experiment is beyond Divine! Yeah you can hear that Dream Theater and LTE has many influences, but "Rush" is 1 of the bands that influence them the most, expecially John. And even if it sounds like they sometimes nearly copyrighted some, I got to say, its hell of a good copyrighting!

  • fuck... I accidentaly rated this 2 stars -.-

    awesome song

  • Re-rate it, it can be done I think.

  • @xXSTFDXx im from the future and I'm here to tell you that you don't have to worry since youtube fucked up and now there are no more stars instead we have hands pointing up or down with their thumbs

  • @xXSTFDXx shut the front door?

  • @Burrit0Bandito lol i love your name dude

  • @IBiteFairlyHard why thank you kind sir... You are a gentleman, a scholar of youtube, and an excellent critique of screen handles.

  • @Burrit0Bandito Why I was thinking the same thing, and my kind math professor also implies that I am a gentleman and a scholar,

  • @xXSTFDXx don't worry and hey! you uploaded a crapton of dream theater songs, thanks! i listen to them all the time

  • @xXSTFDXx You must be burned at the stake.

  • @xXSTFDXx fuck stars thumbs up for the win

  • The last minute is so awesome! God, it makes me happy every time I hear it.

  • Most of my friends can't handle the happy HAHA. They're heads are up their asses with Tool. Don't get me wrong I fucking love Tool. But you gotta be open minded!!!!!

  • The opening bars sounded nearly like "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress" by the Hollies. Were the folks at DT influenced by the Hollies if I may ask?

  • I don't know the Hollies very well, but I'm pretty sure DT wasn't influenced by them =P

A lot of their influences are progressive or metal bands, like Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Metallica, and Yes.

  • Thanks Kiba450. :)

  • Dream Theater with no pansy singer. Uhmm .

the initial riff reminds me of Kansas' "Carry on my Wayward son"...

  • I've masturbated to the keyboard solo twice!

  • Damn, you're good. Hands as fast as Petrucci!

  • @futureproofd i masturbated to mike portnoy I mean his music -.-

  • learned the keyboard solo 2 days ago and lol i havnt been able to stop playing it ever since

  • Saw this live in New York.... (the second show, and they were just as amazing as they were the first time!) Blew me away. There is such emotion in this song... People that can't feel it don't know what music is all about. Jordan high-fived me! :)

  • Yay im the 10,000 viewer.

  • Simply incredible. pero mi favorita sigue siendo paradigm shift!

chale pero el minuto 4.53 no es tan soprendente

  • the keyboard solo made me a better person.

  • That keyboard solo makes me cry man!

  • sorry i spelled repetitive wrong

  • I've always been a big fan of Rush and Kansas and progressive rock bands like that. I'd heard a lot of good things about LTE. Can't believe I never got around to actually listening to them until now.

    This is awesome.

  • i love the part from 4:53. the guitar is amazing in this song.

  • great songs, to me i just dont think that the really fast drumming does much for the songs by lte, but still good stuff

  • Welcome to prog rock. You must be new to the genre.

The drumming style that Mike Portnoy engages in this song, as well as all others, is what makes the songs great. All the musicians make the songs great.

Prog is all about musical talent and technique. You want to know a little more? Listen to the rest of LTE, Dream Theatre, and Rush. Hey, guess what? The drumming is kickass there as well!

Props to Neal Pert and Mike Portnoy - Living Legends of the drums.

  • yeah ur right, its just opinion im not that into the metal and thats what crosses my mind when i hear that fast repetitive drumming, buts thats just me, and levin is hte effin man

  • he forgot to mention YES, the father of progressive rock..

  • REPETETIVE?!?!?!?!?!?!?! MIKE PORTNOY?!?!?!

    noooooooooooooooooo

    you must be mistaken

  • yes, and also transatlantic, spock's beard, neal morse..

  • Be careful people jordan rudess is probably after our souls with such amazing solos, petrucci already has world domination mode, this is a DT conspiracy heuahuehauehaueh

  • What did you smoke?

  • whatever it was, it must be good. =D

  • Dont forget the Tony Levin is the Emperor of Bass lol

  • Oh he is a beast man! I haven't heard of king crimson(I know I'm ignorant lol) Until I heard him play with LTE Then I won't stop listening to it till the day I die!

  • this song is the best!!!!!!!!

OMG the final i'ts so great

  • Yes, the best of LTE.

  • theee shittt

  • ... it does sound a bit like Kansas. But DT are always doing that type of thing (Solitary Shell is Solsbury Hill by Peter Gabriel, Never Enough is Muse etc)

  • Sounds something like Wayward Son by Kansas...lol:P

  • yeah where is steve walsh to sing something her eheruahruehruar

  • My favourite LTE song...

  • This is my fave song OF ALL TIME!

  • I agree with TheBass, this is awesome in its own unique way :P

  • I absolutely LOVE this song :D

    LTE and DT for life!
