Granted it is a flat 4 as in a 180deg V4. It is not a flat 4 boxer which requires separate crank throws, where each piston moves in the opposite direction to the piston on the opposing bank as used by VW, Porsche, Subaru, Alfasud and Lancia Gamma. The Ferrari 365BB - had a so called flat 12 "boxer", it was in fact a 180deg V12 and badly balanced...it had a habit of snapping its crank, unlike the proper boxer 12 of the Porsche 917 motor designed by Dr Hans Mezger
