You guys should film more flying tests. I subscribed thinking all videos are like this, but most videos just talking about planes... We want full reviews and know what to spend our money on.
Just wondering if you got a chance to fly this on 4S?
i've just finished putting mine together, and would love to know (A) How forgiving is the C of G, and (B) How do you fix the battery in place (to prevent it from coming into contact with the motor)? Any advice you could offer would be most helpful.
THIEVES!!!!!! They send broken or parts missing & do NOT sort out the problem. Do NOT rely on paypal, always pay via a credit card & do NOT expect customer service. Once they have your money, they dont care..I have 100% proof of this, just see thier own forum on hobbyking for proof! Think carefully before ordering from this corrupt company!!!!!!
Wow, that does not look fun to fly...it seems like it's way too fast, way to twitchy but I guess maybe that's the point of this plane. It's just not for me but thanks for the review!
Hi I have a question regarding the pylon racer, I just bought the kit from Hobbyking and I am using the Turnigy 2836-3200KV motor as suggested, for the ESC, I am using Hobbywing Pentium 60A, do I need to add in a fiber glass plate between the firewall and motor since I have no idea if my setup will cause the motor to heat up excessively...BTW, I am thinking of using only the 2200 mAh 3S setup.
Oh my god hobbyking only 69 dollars? Your guys are insane, if that plane hits someody, it will cut them in half. I hope to god only advanced pilots will buy this thing
how can i contact hobbyking in Australia whats their phone number because the usa warehouse does not pick up so please give me the number of them in australia i want to buy a cessna 182 1.5meter seaplane plug-n-fly so please give me the number that they have for hobbyking in australia thank you and please give me the number
You do great videos. I just wish you would show a parts list of what you used in your builds in the information window. Motor, servos and such. It is a lot easier then having to listen and then take notes. Your descriptions being vague at times. I mean if you put that much work into the video might as well make it complete.
CLUBEDOHOBBY, estou querendo montar.. mas de todo o material necessário, só tem as baterias e servos, o resto não encontra no estoque.. A lojinha complicada pra encontrar as coisas nessa hobbyking viu.. Você conseguiu montar? Ficou rápido assim? Obrigado. Ricardo. Rancharia/SP.

If that is what you consider a sweet flier then I'd hate to see one that isn't. Why didn't you bring her down and adjust your radio settings. RC people are not stupid.
Something doesn't seem right, first you say it's a sweet flyer but it's jumping up and down like a trout chasing flies cos you say it's pitch sensitive due to there being too much elevator travel. Why not bring her down after a circuit or two, adjust your elevator rate and then fly again, would only take 1-2minutes??? If it were me it's what I would have done, c'mon guys I normally love your reviews but please don't start being like BH Pete where every plane's 'Awesome' ;)
@SuperWildman69 I added links in the video information bar to all the parts used in the maiden flight. I got the prop from the local hobby shop it's an APC 6x4 sport prop for fuel planes. This is much stronger than the 6x4e which I do not recommend at these RPMs. I will be testing some other size props as soon as the weather permits
@HobbykingLive I followed every specfication and bought the same equipment and fly tested this morning. I believe because of the temperature here is hotter my engine died with the proposed 6x4 prop. For some reason the engine could not handle such prop. so i will recomend you guys go for the 5x5 other modellers sugest on the HK reviews. Also the wires in this engine have to be folded really tight and might have created a short circuit. im guessing a inrunner engine would do the trick.
@johndog35 The wing fells rock solid but the fiberglass fuselage is fairly thin. I have only had a chance to fly the plane once so can't really give an opinion on durability yet. This plane is a little bigger (36.5" wing span) than the Rifle (31" wing span) and I think because it can carry a larger battery it should have the potential to go faster. Guess we'll need to get the radar gun out to test that theory.
i was placing an order to this plane while watching this video, u pointed that its safer to have a allot spinner, but i cant find any spinners that will fit a 28 series red turnigy motors,
please give me a link to the spinner that used in this video
@GeepeeEs I had to use one of the folding prop alloy spinners as HobbyKing is currently out of the 35mm spinners. I removed the H bar and had to file the cone to fit the prop. You can also use any other brand 32mm - 35mm alloy spinner that will fit your motor shaft size. I'll post a link to the one I used in the video info bar.
it was near if not at 100 mph with that setup if you figure 3200 kv times 11.1v is about 32000rpm it will drop a few cux of prop load that pitch speed is around 113mph +/- a few
Thanks for the review of this plane. I think it was stated at the end of the video that the wing is sheeted foam. Do you know if the wing has a spare of some sort? Looking forwad to follow on videos about this plane.
i might finally use my credit with hobby king for this one. looks the right size for that eflite 6 series inrunner. FRANK, i know you've seen the inrunner I have, it's 28mm, do you think it would be a good match for mounting inside this particular plane? i think that inrunner with a 5x5 and a lighter, less mah 4 cell would be killer. i know u mentioned the rates being high, but was the cg off, play in the elevator, or the wind that was making the plane pitch up and down?
@BRANDORC you would love this plane Brandon! Note you will only need a 1/4 inch travel in both directions on all control surfaces, 3/8 inch on the elevator was way too much. It didn't feel tail heavy as it tracked strait as an arrow at full throttle with hands off the stick and felt rock solid in the air. The elevator linkage feels slop free and as slippery as this plane is I don't think the wind was much of a factor. That motor you have would definitely work great in this plane with a 4 cell!!
@eastcoast78 I keep missing them when they are in stock. I would definitely like to try one especially now that hobbyking has a heater for it as well.
@inspector111 I'd say somewhere between 70 to 90 kmph. My guess would be around 85 kmph (=50 miles per hour) judged by the prop, motor and estimated flying weight.
I'd love them to make such a plane in foam though. I'm not a fiberglass fan, but that's because it's not so easy to fix when crashed.
@inspector111 I would be guessing it's in the triple digits with the tested set up. It should be even faster with a higher pitch prop. After the plane is dialed in we'll try to get some speed clocks with the radar gun. Just waiting for the weather to clear up. We,ve got more snow comming our way.
@HobbykingLive I agree Frank, your current slow setup on this plane looks like it was just over 100 MPH. So your using Paul's Airtronics Tx huh? I'm guessing that HK is having you test so much stuff that you ran out of Rx's for your own radio- ha!

Not bad. Please balance your prop next time! You'll destroy the motor bearings if you keep running it like that.

How do you land belly lander planes without breaking the PROP? Do you set brake on ESC? I want this pylon racer and the rare bear you sell as well.

you should slap one of those 3648s in this thing , perhaps beef the plane up a bit first .(carbon tubes etc)

I like the looks of this one. What do you think of the wing?
I have looked at the Great Planes ElectriFly Rifle ARF and the wing breaks on version 1 and the fiber glass seperates on version 2.

Man, I'm with a Pylon that already bought. BK is in a long time already.
HK did not inform me an approximate date. They always say 2-4 weeks, but it's been a long time that I bought.
I also was curious about the ups and downs that made the plane in flight video.
You would have more videos of this model flying?
Thanks ....
