In the book, a very long engagment Mathield is in a wheel chair (yes they had them back then)(and her father is very rich so he could afford on)becuase she jumped offa roof and broke the nervouse system in her legs.she did not come down with polio! just thought you ought to know just in case any one wanted to pick out the errors on the moive from the book.

Very sweet. I also love the scene right before they make love for the first time. When he holds up the candles and she blows it out. It's so innocent and romantic I love it!
