I did high 1:26s at the end of my 4 year race career. The first day i step on the track i did 1;30.10. Took 4 years, a house refinance and about 80,000 in cash to knock of 4 seconds on my lap times............and i was still slow at that pace...........would do it all over in a heart beat.
lol well not quite, I am not entering the corner at 145, I am braking at 145mph on the straight. my lap times were about 20 seconds off of AMA times, so I don't think I am AMA quality haha!
I'm not sure, but I remember someone saying I was getting within 20-30 seconds of AMA times. I think I might be closer to 20 seconds now, but when my Willow Springs trackday was, i was probably closer to 30 seconds off.
They never told me, they just said I was about that far off of AMA times. It was just some local guys keeping random guys' times with a stopwatch. I never cared to ask what my time was. at Road Atlanta, in Georgia, I did 1:55 on a stock 08 GSXR600. The only other lap time I know is a 1:52 on a 08 CBR1000RR at Laguna Seca but I was kinda babying it since the bike was brand new (at the press introduction)
no, i am running on a stock CBR600RR with one year riding experience at about 20 seconds slower than AMA formula extreme times. this is kinda hard for you to understand, isn't it?
It's not that I don't understand, is just that I don't believe it. You're a lier my friend. I've never heard of a newbie running those kinds of times. NO WAY, NO HOW. I'd have to see it for my self.
I do at least 3 track days a year at Willow(big track). Maybe on one of those track days, you'll be there.
Or maybe at one of the track days at California Speedway. Let me know when you'll be there, I'll try to make it. Just look for a GREEN 05' ZX6RR with the number 670. That will be me.
I've been trained at Keith Code's school, Reg Pridmore, Freddie Spencer, and now Kevin Schwantz. With the right care, a new rider can go fast. If you don't believe me, look at some of my videos. Those are at race schools at a 70% or so pace. You don't have to believe me, I don't have shit to prove to random people on the internet. 20 seconds off of race times is pretty slow still.
Plus I have been riding with some great riders that are high level in the industry. I have learned a lot about knowing how to go fast and how to do it safely. Instead of learning how to get my front wheel in the air, I learned to grind my pegs away. I'm not saying I am some prodigy rider, I am just saying that I am lucky enough to have practically the perfect role models, perfect teachers, and lots of money at my disposal to learn how to ride and race
I want to apologize. Those videos are "tight". You can ride. I just tired of these guys getting on here and bragging about the skills that they have when they have none. I wish I had that kind of money, I would be doing the same thing. Good for you. Hopefully one day we can ride together.
oh haha well that's no reason to hate me haha, it's a reason to be jealous. hating is what makes people with hopes not achieve them haha! find the right people and you can be like me as well.
If you are running 20 seconds off the race pace (which means to be mid pack you need to be in the 1:24-27's) means your running upper 1:40's-low 50's...which means your slow...and I do belive it
ok... not everyone starts off fast. I only started riding for only a couple of years, and if you read the message where I say "You don't have to believe me, I don't have shit to prove to random people on the internet. 20 seconds off of race times is pretty slow still." I obviously know I'm not very fast. I'm not trying to gloat or anything.
PLUS, if it means anything, when I did the Willow Springs trakcday where I was doing about 20 seconds off of race pace, I only had been riding a year and a half altogether and hadn't gone to Kevin Schwantz yet, which is where I got a good amount of my current pace from. it's in my profile if you want to poke some more at me.
I'm not bragging, but after a few laps, I was braking for turn one at about 145 on a 30-35 mph windy day on a stock 07 CBR600RR. I believe a lot of riding is putting trust into what you have been taught (assuming you have a real good teacher)

No problem. It's not often a 20 year old guy gets to ride so many bikes on so many race tracks across the world.

If you're running them times, then you should be an AMA racer.

True...some are more inept than others.
But what Ducati are you "killin" out there?

This must be level 1 ...slow..

People gotta start somewhere. Rare is the rider that can turn fast laps at the track right away.
