  • hi sir how much does it cost??thank you.I'm planning to go there in momotaro koi farm and in sakai koi farm..

  • @gumagumakoi It was a gift from a buddy.

  • i just got a new maruten kohaku, its crown is about the same as your D200(red intensity slightly less than the red body pattern of your D200), with lipstick, same whiteness and a pair of 20sen size pattern(not that red, looks orange) on each side of the dorsal fin, body conformation not that good, hope to build it up. usually how long do you feed colour food? 2 months? 3 months?

  • @shuwukong I feed colour food for most of the year. Only avoid it about a month before a koi show, to let the whites clear.

  • How is D-200? Is She OK?

  • Yes, why not?

  • have u ever kept a normal Chagoi?

  • That your koi carp should have gone man ! :D .What was it ?

  • Not sure what you're asking... :-P

  • I just want to know how much it cost this fish!

  • It was a gift.

  • ours was a gift! so I also wanted to win this one as well,: D cool!

  • @Zibilu123 they usually go for about 400 dollars at this size.

  • wow! she's a beauty! all the best to you with D200. i wish someone could give me a gift as gorgeous as that. hehe!!!

  • hi paul,

great koi, what a gift!!!! Is this an offspring of the late sanke Ryu-X who was property of Giel van Alphen from the Netherlands and died becuz of stoned eggs??? (I didnt know she had offspring)

  • Hi Steven, yes she is. I wasn't aware that the oyagoi has died and am really sorry to hear that. When did she die?

  • apparantly she died on 27/07/07 :S I still have a DVD of that koi winning the supreme champion prize on AJS... its a shame but at least part of her lives on in your koi :D (and looking at the size of your nisai sanke, thats obvious :p)

eitherway good luck with this sanke and turn her into a jumbo ;)

  • Hi Steven, apparently there was a mix-up. The oyagoi for this koi was from the Ryu bloodline but not Ryu-X. Apparently there are many Ryu oyagoi but I don't know which one is my sanke's mother. I'm told the mother for my sanke is 98cm. I have amended the heading. Thanks for pointing it out!

  • np Paul, I just wanted to share the info that Ryu-x was dead ^^ I didn't even realise it couldn't be the oyagoi, but if the oyagoi is 98cm than its bigger than Ryu-X was, so no complaining here :-)

    greetz

ps don't forget to show us how it evolves :D I'm really curious about how a koi of that calliber evolves in a great pond like yours (and since you periodically measure your koi and have a decent camera it would be a wasted opportunity no? :p)

  • I did a simple measurement of my koi yesterday when they were bowled out for packing off to Kepong Koi. No significant growth for most of the koi. Many of my koi have reached their size limits (or very near there) and also since the last measurement, the focus was not on growth but conditioning for the Malaysia Koi Show. After the show, there have been a number of bouts of medication, so they have been hardly fed at all. And feeding was mainly of FD Supplement and not the high growth stuff.

  • It is more difficult to maximize growth in ponds where members are of varying ages and sizes. My bigger koi don't need so much food, but the smaller ones would need more, and perhaps more frequent feeding. I'd have to strike a balance somewhere but essentially it would be a compromise.

  • Your Koi is champion material

  • Still a long way to go, mate. Lots of work to be done. It would be good if some katasumi emerges on the shoulder area, but at the moment it doesn't look like any coming..
