  • heck, at least you are in the ship. my friend in Papua New guinea been in the navy for 12 years and he never went to sea (PNG navy has no ship) one more friend at Philipine Navy been assigned to same boat in the past 14 years and went to sea only two days (ship from WW II, broke down all the time)

  • If your going bitch and complain about a military branch, I have the right to tell you to shut the fuck up.. no one told you to join whatever branch you're in. All military branches work together to do whatever needs done at some point. You might be "better" but if your a really complaining about shit as stupid like this than your pussy ass must've not been disciplined enough. If your jealous, join the fucking navy for all I care

  • looks alot more clean and tidy than british stuff. Hardly suprising when you see how messy britain usually is

  • In the Army, E-5's just stand around and supervise

  • @ThreeCatsScratching in the army, EVERYBODY stands around and supervises lol im kidding

  • if all yer gunna do is bitch about the navy, then why the fuck did youu enlist? duhh.

  • Any man who may be asked in this century, what he did to make his life Worthwhile, can respond with a good deal of Pride and Satisfaction, "I served in the United States Navy".-President John F. Kennedy

  • when can you train to be a seal or how does that work? thanks

  • @darthshadowxxx Talk to you're local recruiter. He will explain it to you.

  • that is definantly what u do in the navy

  • One word:

    OOOORAHHHHH!!!

...this is why kids... you go somewhere where you are taught to kill and actually..

    USMC ^_^

  • @MrMDMA101 You do know that's 15 words right? Typical marine. Maybe they should teach you guys to count first.

  • so all these people just cleaning the ship whats there job?

    thanks

    -luke

  • third classes lol

  • @123nypd Not necessarily.

  • sweepers sweepers man your....

  • should i join the army as a intellegence soldier or navy

  • @123nypd navy

  • @asd8004 why? thanks for commenting.

  • @123nypd my bad for the 4 month w8 lol

well my father was in the army for 11 years and he said life after army is not easy beacuse no one wants to hire a guy who can put a gun together in 30 seconds, altho there are other routes you can take in the army,. navy has much more to offer with being a citizen.

  • @123nypd if you had much intelligence you wouldn't need to ask...

  • @gammaguy117 wtf army deals with spying on what the enemy is doing dumb shit not deciding on whether to join the military

  • HAHAHAHA seriously singing the rockerfeller skank?

  • lol ain't got nun to do but just cleaning and cleaning i hear u man :p

  • HAHAHAHAHA, YOU GUYS ARE GONNA GET IN TROUBLE!

  • Do you regret joining the navy. cuz i want to join

  • i think the crampped living conditions would really suck and the lack of sleep and nosiy enviroment being woken up all the time. YOu're living space is very small. i think in the future living spaces will be much larger but now its far to puny and cramped.

  • Do any U.S sailors know what class vessel that was?

  • Comment removed

  • @MrDeano324 Looks like a carrier to me.

  • @chilledkirby ya you can theres a way to stay at special warfare training but youd have to enter on a seal or swcc eod contract and its still hard after tht if your serious bout that go talk to a recruiter and figure out your options before you do something your not ready for

  • Navy sucks

  • @alohacafe02 Are you even military. Don't lie ass hole

  • @Xxjoeynumber1xX

Yes. I am you fuckhead !

  • @alohacafe02 Yea being a student is one of the greatest branches of military.

  • You mean "wake up and PRETEND to clean". But your are absolutely correct...this is the Navy. Surface or sub...it's all the same.

  • I would really like to go to BUD/S after joining the Navy, but I respect the attrition rate - so if I were to fail, I wouldn't want to be cleaning shit in the standard Navy. Are you allowed to enter another "specialty" thing like BUD/S after failing one?

  • @chilledkirby youre talking about going into bud/s and already wondering what you can do if you fail. pshh bitch.

  • @triplethreatvette Not at all. In fact, it's the dumbasses like you who don't respect the attrition rate who are fucked afterwards. WHEN they fail. Two is one and one is none. Ask Don Shipley. Fuck-face.

  • Suave that deck mat'y!!! Man them girls is butt ugly!!! But i guess they look like 10's when you's away at sea for so long.. Hehehehe... As long as your buddies dont try pokin you in the middle of the night your straight..

  • @jbbonzo72 I think you mean "swab". Big difference between suave and swab.

  • sweepers sweepers man your brooms...

  • that's pretty funny. btw, you kinda look like eminem...cept poor. and in the navy. i'm just sayin.

  • @N4CYR Or maybe peewee herman

  • HAHAHAHA OMG ITS SOOO TRUE!!!

  • the navy must freaken suck

  • @thegame245 Dude it is awesome.

  • @caligulaincarnate why? please explain

  • @thegame245 Yeah you have to do a lot of work and janitorial duties, but you get to see cool places for free, like japan, germany, sweden, london, etc. And you're usually stationed at beaches, so a lot beach activities are available. Being part of the US Military gets you discounts in many places, you loads of interesting people, you can have multiple different jobs over your career, so you can even pilot fighter jets, shoot missles, work with guns. And then some.

  • @caligulaincarnate i hope youre joking, maybe before 9/11 youd see a lot of places, but now all you see is your home port and middle east shitholes. ya, because releaving the ship that releaved you for you 2nd deployment in 2 years is the shit! AND lets not forget spending weeks at a time at river city condition 1 so you cant even talk to your friends and family! and what do you get for all that? you get to see bahrein and qutar.....over and over..... WOOOOO GO NAVY! FUCK YA!

  • @renowolfgang I never said all experiences are the same, or that everyone has it made.

  • @caligulaincarnate oh sorry, i forgot not everyone is stationed on an aircraft carrier in norfolk, my bad. btw do you have any spare anal lube? my cheif used it all on me by making me go and wash dishs for a living on the first deployment, and then still having the balls to ask the divo to ask me to come back and work on divisional stuff when i wasnt cranking. but hey! who am i to judge the navy? i was the only married person in my a school class AND the only one to get sea duty orders. fuck ya!

  • @renowolfgang At least you're enjoying it!

  • @renowolfgang I know plenty of people in the navy who still travel to alot of places, not just the middle east. And maybe if you scored higher then a 50 on your asvab you would be doing something other then washing dishes. If you hate the idea of doing something that somebody tells you to do, but you still want to at least make a little bit of money i would consider filing for unemployment. Thanks.

  • @SeanDaFawn I agree... The people who talk shit about the Navy either scored so low on their asvab that they got a shitty job, or are thugs off the street with their head up their ass who got discharged.

  • Commence shipwide field day......... All hands man your fucking brooms

  • "Got a couple of removed comments there, treytrey?"

Off topic, the topic is Life in the Navy not about me. Either stay on topic or stop posting on this page.

  • Oh a threat! You gonna write me a counseling chit?

I was on topic warning people about life in the Navy (the Nuke and BM session) and you attack me.

ALL YOU KIDS THINKING OF ENLISTING, THIS IS THE KIND OF BOSS YOU WILL PROBABLY HAVE. HE'LL GUN-DECK PMS AND FUCK YOU OVER ON A SPOT CHECK. HE'LL CLAIM HE'S IN YOUR CORNER THEN DIME YOU OUT TO LOOK GOOD FOR OLD SENIOR CHIEF.

  • "Oh a threat!"

You must not know what a threat is, as there is no threat in any comments posted.

"You gonna write me a counseling chit?"

Where did this come from? Could you stay on topic?

"THIS IS THE KIND OF BOSS YOU WILL PROBABLY HAVE. HE'LL GUN-DECK PMS AND FUCK YOU OVER"

Are you talking about yourself? Obviously you aren't talking about me as you do not know me and how well I'd treat my own. You

"I was on topic warning people about life in the Navy"

    No you weren't

  • Hmm...you have nothing new to say so you address my post. You sir, need to practice what you preach and stay on topic. I am telling people about Life in the Navy, and you are on some cloud where my Navy and your Navy don't exist. Well, they do. By the way you talk and describe your Navy, you sound exactly like a guy that drops dimes on his workers and is an avid fan of hypocrisy. A guy that steps on others to get higher...

  • Nope, because I do not believe in my guys getting in trouble unless they really fuck up. By fucking up, I mean if they do something that will endanger someone's life. If they do something that does not hurt someone physically or emotionally I wouldn't have them in trouble. I am one that does not believe in the whole "captain's mast bull shit".

  • "I am one that does not believe in the whole "captain's mast bull shit""

Really? This from the guy who believes I should be sent to mast for being a disgruntled sailor. You are either a hypocrite or you are stupid.

  • Why are you continuing to comment me being rude? Do you have no life? I'm more so a hypocrite, but I don't believe in Mast.

  • I don't like "do as I say not as I do" people. My WCS can attest to that. I was done until you started saying I was off topic and to stay in topic when you were clearly breaching that line.

Kinda pissed me off too when I was legitimately trying to warn people about Nuke and BM rates and you come over acting the ass.

  • "Either stay on topic or stop posting on this page"

So, are you a moderator now? If I continue to tell people about the negative side of the Navy are you going to kick me out or cry?

  • You are very childish.

  • Thank you. I'm sure you are very mature and boring as shit.

  • Not boring, but I know how to act my age.

  • Made a typographical error, I did.

What I meant to say was, you would probably be the one to screw your people over.

Also, you were not on topic as you replied to my comment from a year ago, trying to disrespect me. Obviously you have no respect for anyone, and you do not deserve to be in the military. You would not last in SPEC Ops for a day, nor would you last in any other branch of the military.

  • LOL! You crack me up, man. I'd never screw my own people over, then again, I'd never run my shop. I like being the AWCS. Low stress, high return. I like helping my little droogies understand that while the WCS is an ass, his heart is in the right place. And when they need time off, I tell them to leave for the day and deal with the senior chiefs.

  • As you noted, I do not have respect for you. Before you think I deliberately disrespected you, why don't you take a glance at the first post I responded to. Don't worry, I'll wait.

Who gives a shit about SPEC-OPS? You're not spec-ops nor would you last a day. THAT WAS OFF-TOPIC. Funny that you say I wouldn't last in the Navy...you know since I've been in some 5 1/2 years and have never been to mast. So you're kind of dumb for saying that.

  • "I've been in some 5 1/2 years"

So either you have a six year contract or you have re-enlisted. If you don't have a six year contract, why did you re-enlist? You claim to hate the Navy, but you re-enlisted if you were under a four year contract.

  • No, I have a 6 year contract. I'm rolling out soon, trust me.

  • Oh well that explains it. I honestly hope you find a good job out in the civilian world, it will be tough.

  • Thanks! Worst comes to worst, I'll probably start selling Spice to sailors on a distribution level. lol

  • That was a joke, player. I'll probably do something in the music or film industry.

  • Thank you! And I hope the Navy continues to treat you better than it treated me. And remember, don't accept any orders to CVN-72. I'm not even kidding with you (or anyone for that matter). I've never been to a ship more disliked by it's crew.

  • You're welcome. Everyone has their own experiences with the Navy, some better than others. Obviously yours weren't as good, too bad they didn't give you anything better. I guess it could have been worse, you could have been stationed on the Kearsarge.

  • @AllTooBlurry you should try out the stennis. we get to go on deployment, come back from deployment and immediately help every single fucking squadron in the Navy/USMC get their CQ's for 8 months straight since the new carrier deployment rotation is insanely broken and stretching all CVN personnel to the limits. Plus we are homeported in the beautiful state of washington, which gets pissed on 6 days a week.

  • @achigurh88 Ok, I'm with you on the revolving door deployments. That shit sucks. We did San Diego trips so much, I kept forgetting where I lived. I feel more for you because you're homeport is in Bremerton. We were there for the yards and it BLOWS! As far as Washington goes, I don't regret getting out of the Navy but I've regretted moving out of WA every day since I've been back in LA.

  • I am getting a degree in Legal Studies this May.

  • I'm not sure how the officer program works. I know with a legal degree, you'd be good for it.

Chat up treynich87. He believes he has all the answers about the Navy and will contradict me if I attempt to help you.

  • Its ok. I asked that question a long time ago when I was weighing which branch of service I was going to join, I narrowed it down to the Marine Corps and went through their OCS some time ago.

  • Nice.

  • AllTooBlurry, like I said I don't like everything about the Navy, but unlike you I can suck it up and take it with a grain of salt. In fact I hate a lot about the way its run like if I give an order to someone I am probably going to get told on and have it come back to bite me in the ass. However, I don't let that affect anything, because there is a lot more bullshit in the civilian world, at least the Navy you have a guaranteed pay check and don't have to worry about being fired.

  • This is true, sir, but in the civilian world, if you do your job, you don't have to worry about getting fired. I got sick of people using that "guaranteed paycheck" to their advantage and having to pick up others slack because they know they won't be fired.

Pretend for a moment your job has a lot of stress. Your coworker didn't write that memo for the CO so our chief wakes you up so you can write the memo. The CO thinks he did it and he takes the credit. You can't keep sucking that up.

  • Actually that is not true. Even if you do your job in the civilian world you can get laid off due to the economy. Also, you can do your job but do it shitty and get fired. That memo thing happens in the civilian world as well. They won't get fired for not doing shit, but they can get in trouble, it shows on their eval and when it is time to re-enlist they will get denied by Perform to Serve (PTS).

  • These people usually don't re-enlist. Am I just going over your head?

When I say "Doing your job" I do not mean shittily. I mean that you do the job you are there to do. It does happen in the civilian world, but when I've had enough, I CAN QUIT

  • No but you apparently a dumb ass as many of these people DO try and re-enlist.

  • "No but you apparently a dumb ass..." Want try that again? I realize this isn't a graded essay, but if you're going to call someone a dumb-ass, you might want to use proper grammar. Otherwise, you just look like an ignorant little ass.

I was referring to the people who don't do shit knowing they can't be fired. Most of these people don't care about the Navy enough to stay in. The few that do don't know enough about their rates to be advanced. So they get booted for higher tenure.

  • Got a couple of removed comments there, treytrey?

  • That said,

Children! Pray your orders don't send you to CVN-72. You will HATE work life, but Washington State is very beautiful when its not raining.

  • You responded to my comment from a year ago, so how exactly do you know if I am a YN? Also, I had to stay up all night for work when I was in Cuba. I'm not saying the Navy is perfect, in fact, it is far from perfect, but I know why would I bitch about it when I signed the contract knowing what I was getting into? Let me ask you this, when you joined, did you actually think you wouldn't have to do shit and you wouldn't have to sweep or swab?

  • Yes, I did know this. I never said that I hated doing any of those things. I pointed out that the people who try to encourage others to clean (IN MY CHAIN OF COMMAND ON MY BOAT) are usually the ones who do not flush, puke in the berthing, and try to fight everyone when we come back from Thailand or elsewhere.

Not understanding your love for the Navy, I related you to my current WCS who is a second class and is very familiar with the underside of our senior chief's desk.

  • I then pointed out (to no one in particular) that shoudl someone want to join the Navy, it wouldn't be best to go NUKE or BM, because I see the reactor guys work their asses off for nothing in return and BMs just paint all the time. You decided to undermine me. I understand you have a hard on for the Navy and that's fine, but when your chain of command is run by a group of people who are only interested in helping people of their own race, you tend to not shine as bright.

  • Anyone considering joining the Navy, do not listen to AllTooBlurry. He is the kind of guy people urge you to stay away from, as he is what people in the Navy like to refer to as a shit bag.

  • @treynich87

If you are thinking of joining the Navy, don't listen to treynich87. He's the kind of naive guy who tells you how HIS Navy is. Unless you are working directly under him, you may not have the shining star of a time he apparently has had.

  • @treynich87

I work on a fucking carrier, ass. I see the nuke guys working harder than anyone on the ship, receiving little to no liberty for their work. So if you like no liberty and standing port and starboard duty while everyone else is in 8 section duty, by all means, go nuke. And if you like painting and tieing knots, go BM.

  • @treynich87

You are a YN. When is the last time you had to pull an all nighter doing maintenance on your fax machine? Do you have to tag out your computer? 4.0 evals speak for themselves, player.

  • For all those interested in signing up for the Navy, two words of advice:

DON'T GO NUKE (if you score more than 70 on your ASVAB, your recruiter will push NUKE on you. Tell him NO!

And of course don't be a BM.

  • @AllTooBlurry well I'm gonna be an IT so I guess I'm good lol

  • Aw, yeah man. You're aces. ITs have it good on our ship. You don't work late, you are literally paid to eavesdrop on other people while they do their thing. IT is good for outside work as well. Good core knowledge.

  • Boatswian's Mates are the ones who do all the cleaning. They are also known as "Janitor's of the Fleet".

  • Gunner Mate 2nd Class...... and the Navy isnt bad...... just make sure you are ready to work hard and drink a lot of coffee..... and make sure you guys wrap it up with the ladies.

  • i go talk to the recruiter 2morrow. a couple of my bois was in it. they told me be ready towork if u @ sea. 12-15hr shifts. n get paid for 8hr. fuck!

  • I'm trying to get accepted into the BDCP officer's program. I really want to go into the navy.

  • maaaaaaan the navy is the shit i cant wait to join

  • Ya kudos for people who join the navy but uh FUCK THAT. only cool job's in the navy are

    Navy Seals

Navy Pilot but both are big bitches to get in to.

  • and UDT, and Air Rescue.

  • hilarious lmao....but soooo true. prepare to clean, and STAND WATCH! all day long. that said i would still do it over again.

  • I got a 99 on the AFQT of the ASVAB, 136 GT and was looking to go Intelligence Specialist. Any info on that?

  • FUNNY BUT SO TRUE......

  • LOL FUNNY

  • hey what's your rate?

  • Go NAVY!!!!!

Thanks to all you folks who wear blue for the USA.

  • haha thats definitely what its like now..imglad that im still going to be able to clean on my ship hahahah....

  • some people on this website are so ignorant...you cant down rate anything if you havent experienced it for your self....you cant go by what eveyone else says because different people like different things...so sorry to let yall know that...

  • Ima be a corpsman, and this is gonnnnnna suck :D

  • same here bro. when are you going to RTC?

  • RTC? Im a girl :D

  • ....Recruit Training Command...(aka Bootcamp), sorry I dind't realize you were a female.

  • Well that's OK, lol, Uhm my name is only Stella! haha, and uhm next year :O

  • this was really dumb and point less

  • it2 shut your hay as lying ass recruiting ways. your an it why dont you tell the kids joining about the creos. why dont you tell them if they cant get a security clearance and be smart to get a rate where they dont do shit but suck on dick like you...duck you faggot hope when you get to the fleet you get your ass whooped..thats how we hadnle people like you in the fleet hooyah!

  • Why do they use powdered soap in the Navy????

B/c it takes longer to pick up

  • Oh more gay jokes. You're funny.

  • lol

  • I am an IT2. I remember why I joined and I am doing it. I got an associates degree, A+ cert, NET+ cert, and I am working towards my Bachelors. If someone says they hated it its because they did nothing with themselves while they were in. They fogot why they joined and what they wanted to accomplish. Now I am a recruiter and I can't wait to get back to the fleet! AAAARRRRRGGHH! ANCHORS AWEIGH BABY!

  • Want to know why we clean everyday? I was on a 2 frigates. Onboard there are about 250 personnel. Think about all those people walking through the ship everyday, kicking up dust, making dust (i.e. skin cells, hair, clothes, etc.) you get that many people walking around its going to get dirty. DUST = FIRE HAZARD.

  • i wish my frigate had 250 people on it we only got about 180!

  • im thinking of joinint the navy any help u guys could give would help. how is boot? how much do u run?

  • Join the AF instead. You want to be underneath a ship for 3yrs working or on a nice AFB. The Air Force treats you good and has any job you want.

  • AF doesn't know shit...all the movies showing they fight in combat... that is a big LIE...they dont even know how to fire a rifle.

  • security forces can fire rifles pretty dam good

  • Id go airforce over navy anyday ur on a base rather than a boat and u get treated with a lot of respect regardless of ur rank

  • i dont know if anyone told you this yet or not but not all navy is on a boat, im a navy seabee, ill never see a ship unless im flying over it in a C130 or some other type of plane, and as far as respect goes you do get respect from all ranks usually but we are all human and therefore going to have bad days, have a great day and take care

  • yeah not all navy is on a boat but most of em are and as for u ur probably a smart guy who said ima go to college get my degree learn how to fly then join the navy but most people dont wanna do that, they dont wanna go to college for 4 yrs they just wanna join the military and thats where the comparison comes in an enlisted man in the airforce will enjoy their 4 yrs more then an enlisted man in the navy. That is a known fact considering we have the highest reenlisment rate than any other branch

  • beholdendamage, im not going in as an officer because im lazy, i got my AA in liberal arts (general ed) and im going in with that instead of a four year degree because i thought it woudl be pointless to waste time in school when i dont know what i want to do for a career, so why waste money (i dont have) and time learning about something i may never do in my life. you cant catogarize everyone in and going into the navy.

  • yeah and im sure the golf courses are great.

  • since when do we have golf courses was that suppose to be a joke cuz it wasnt funny... at all

  • I'm not trying to be rude. I respect all branches of the military cus it take a lot to serve but that joke was funny lol! And i have some friends who joined the Air Force cus they said it was easy Fin Aid and think that's kind of dirty on their part. And the Air Force website does make the golf course, flights, and other perks, some of its selling points on the website :)

  • no offence taken our quality of life. does kick ass but we also work long 12 hour shifts

  • I would say the Navy Chiefs are the Nutjobs that give the Navy a bad name.Yelling at you like your a little kid for petty shit, man if it wasn't for the UCMJ and the risk of losing money, I would have loved to kick my Chief's ass. Bunch of tools!!!

  • i cant wait to leave 14 more days till boot camp.

  • woot i hope u have fun when they tear gas u dunbar :D

  • I'm studying the asvab book to get a high score. I know I can do it. POSITIVE.

  • the test is much easier than u would typically think. and you dont get graded on all the sections, however how you do on those sections determines the type of jobs you get offered

  • this is hella funny...

  • idk what that guy is talkin about mm's rule

  • machinest mate is the job i got dude u should totally message me back cus i cant find information anywhere on it

  • You work the mechanical side of any engine/equipment on the ship with the exception of reactor stuff (those are Nuclear rated MMs)

  • what is your job in the navy

  • US Navy is like the Royal Navy.. clean clean clean ???

  • Im thinking about joining the navy,,,,,, I failed the asvab, I have to re-take it, Im nervous about it. Im 25, looking for a new opportunity. I'm really interested.

  • If you failed the asvab, I suggest you don't join the Navy. You'll be given an incredibly shitty job!

  • yea a job like sanitation mechanic lol. how would that proceed in a conversation? look at this kid how u doing man, so what they got u doing jumping out of airplanes or something? no, im a sanitation mechanic, i change shitters all day long. well you could have done that here couldnt you. yea maybe. lol

  • nah dude you can retake it and get and get any job u qualify for i failed it the irst time with a 31, the i got a 66 a month later . just study dont be nervous dude.

  • thanks for the advise...I have to start studying the book!

  • join up reveryone in the navy is mad cool and you get drunk as fuck

  • Do we get to bring our laptops onto the ships?

(I hold onto my laptop just like a nerd holds onto his favorite textbook, more or less.)

  • Yes you get to bring yout laptops, we got people who bring PS3's Wii,s and 360's onboard.

  • is life in the navt hard???

  • this is on a ship

  • I joined the Navy March 9th 2009 but still have to graduate from high school and if this is all you do everyday in the NAVY than I made the right decision. But my job is Machinist Mate and I don't think I will be able 2 fool around like this, but if so........Woo-hoo!!!

  • naw u wont be able to....you'll be in the dungeon...lol
