  • These guys set up in our neighbourhod club Zapata's 1982 and left us speechless- Cusson made so much sustain and reverb in that joint, a pared down McLaughlin Ray Gomez gtr vibe -Caron also a shock, MCd show in English, just barely, & laughing about it. The cat doing FOH shook that CBC Radio bldg to core; the equal of Scotia mix legend Scrapper Stevenson. Lovely guy, name cant recall. We did by then expect Quebec shows to have flair. Nothing like this though

  • Nobody is makin cover version of Uzeb?? i cant find any1 that try play like Alan Caron

  • putain c est du lourd! back to the 90!!!!! la gueule a Caron et au paul a 5:05 faut dire que le Tiger il envoie le patté de foie de campagne!

  • Lots of talent here, but OMG that guitar tone is aweful! Ew!

  • Jeremy Clarkeson on drums?

  • @visog no, Paul Brochu

  • j'adore la coiffure de michel cusson!le pauvre a toujours couru apres un style!!!heureusement c'est un tres bon musicien, comme "tiger o'nashi"

  • RIFF 55 is one of their best compositions. (first part of this).

  • Wooooowww. Why I had never heard of them before?

  • @kikeramirez Being Canadian, and having played in Quebec several times, I was told by a Quebec musician a long time ago that they have their own "star"system which I think means that there are, and were many great musicians and bands, but were almost exclusive to Quebec, and are probably popular in other French speaking parts of the world. Even though Uzeb were instrumental, I don't think a lot of the rest of Canada was willing to embrace fusion, progressive complex music, even this incredible!

  • @guitbibble Hope you`re kidding mister bibble.. Uzeb were known worldwide back in the 80`s, let alone Canada.

  • @arthurthegreat I knew they were known, but I didn't know how far. I barely heard them on any kind of station near the Toronto area- maybe a college or university station in the late '80s. But do you mean "known worldwide" as in among jazz/fusion/progressive rock fans? I didn't know much history about them until the last five years. I certainly wanted to see and hear more of them! If they were known worldwide amongst people with good taste in music (obviously), then great!

  • @guitbibble Well, of course they weren't a household name but they were known worldwide among, as you say, Jazz, Fusion and Progressive Rock fans. One would probably not hear of them unless he/she is pretty deep into the scene but the fact of the matter is that whether you've been living in Armenia, Japan or Israel back then, you could easily find their music if you were looking for it.

  • @kikeramirez because they are quebeker

  • There is only one other group of musicians that come together on this level it's Earth Wind and Fire

  • @sincejan63 you're missin a lot of bands then...

  • @MarcoMinnemann You're right. Maybe a hundred I can think of, except UKZ.

  • @neefar70 music is an infinite search ;)

  • @MarcoMinnemann I meant no disrespect. A musician who looks at Brochu's works, a well kept secret, deserves all my regards.

  • JACKIE CHAN!!!!

  • This is some great stuff!!! Paul and Alain are a great combo!!! I can only dream of being at their level..........nen----Go Tiger....

  • I'm always impressed by the way Paul Brochu keeps it so steady and clean on the drums.

  • Playing trumpet like that is hard work!!...The trumpet is putting in the heavy lifting on this video...I know guys who have passed out playing this hard..They can Litterally blow their brains out ...

  • @lclaughton not if you breathe right and have good technique and a decent instrument.

  • @lclaughton not if you breathe right and have good technique and a decent instrument.

  • and the 1st three or four minutes of this vid is a tune called RIFF 55 ,....for those who care. a perfect platform for Paul to do what he does best. the funky sycopated bass line is tough to play (at the conclusive riff), but doable...

  • @1022183 you're right man, regards ;)

  • @1022183, not 20 000 but more like 80 000, i was there too....

  • this wasn't their "Last Concert" ....I was at their last concert in MTL ....

their last gig together was Outdoors....at the street intersection of St. Catherine's Street, and whatever.... about 20,000 filled the area... fenced off by the cops....images rolling over the skyscrapers behind them.... The stage was in the round.....seen from all four street angles... Tiger was there, so was Didier...and jean st. jaques..and Michel Cyr....plus the original 3..... it was sick.

  • lol i love how alain always does that walking in place dance type of thing while he is grooving, ive seen him do it in almost every video.

  • alain caron is the coolest nerd on earth

  • tq manubbo for posting...i love uzeb n tiger!!

  • Tiger is killing!

  • what a pitty I never see them playing live.

  • Is that Ginette Reno I see sitting in the audience there, at the beginning of the video? Ginette at a jazz fusion gig. Wow, who would have thought?
