  • @RickisMoney Note that I never denied that she made English style fashionable. And about you asuming that I don't know anything about the political context, I hate to break this to you but I am French, and am therefore exposed to much more reliable information about MA's life than probably you are. And since we're judging each other, I think you need to read a little bit more. We never mentioned the association between the evolution of fashion and the political atmosphere.

  • @RickisMoney _ with the creative support of her personal hairdresser, Léonard Antier. Same thing for the ornate dresses, designed by Rose Bertin (who would later be called "the Queen's Minister of Fashion"). SHE was the one who put in style these trends. Before this, the most popular hairstyle, the tapé, was quite flat compared to the pouf (tall wigs, as you call them). And the dresses were already really ornate, but this was accentuated when she took the throne.

    It's called decadence.

  • @midnightmagicwitch her dress had no diret influence, it was actually presided over by elder members of the royal faily, a french tradition, the pouf, yes i know the name, there are many names to call thm, all ending with pouf or starting with pouf, the point is marie antoinett actually introduced the british style of clothin such as the riding coat, etc, this conversation is utterly blank and pointless becuz you obviousl dont understand french political atmosphere at he time.

  • Respond to this video... disregard errors, im too busy to care.

  • @RickisMoney Why on Earth are you assuming that I don't know about the relaxed etiquette in the court of Maria Theresa? Of course she came from a relatively austere background. Anyone who read at least one biography of Marie Antoinette can tell you that. And how could she have started any trend on her early days in France? She needed time to impose her style, that's obvious. So the wedding dress doesn't prove a thing. The towering hairstyles began around 1774 (the year she became Queen)_

  • the funny thing is, they blamed her for using up all frances money on clothing,, when actually she was the one who put an end to the grandiose fashion of tall wigs and extremely wide dresses, she made british fashion (always been the simpler of the two superpowers) the new french fashion...but it didnt save her.....always blame the savior...stupid peasants following the whim of dumb aristocrats to revolution, thats why they had the reign of terror.

  • @RickisMoney Hahahhahaaa, your ignorance amazes me. Don't talk about stuff you don't know about. I studied Marie Antoinette's influence in fashion very closely. She was the one who started with the trend of excessively tall wigs and very ornate dresses in the first part of her reign. Then, around the 1780s (years after the acquisition of the Petit Trianon) she became interested in the relative simplicity of British fashion. Don't exaggerate, my friend.

  • @midnightmagicwitch your obviously misguided, your calling ignorance fact...that sucks for you :/ mari antoinette was following a fashion trend that has been followed before she came to the french court, her wedding gown is a proof of her just following the trend since she had no influence in france when she arrived, and in The Austrian court (where she came from) was not a place of fashion and was actually quite relaxed under the reign on maria theresa here mother..so ur information is wrong..

  • @RickisMoney also french extravagance in fashion was actually them copying the spanish fashion, and making it more french, indeed she may have taken the wigs to new levels but as queen of france, THE FIRST ONE, for some years because he father in law had not remarried she could not be outdone, but her style was very much just coping and going with the trend until said treaty you mentioned, dont go there with me, i dont major in history because of just rushing over facts i analyze....

  • @RickisMoney also it was well know that the french did not like austrians so it wasnt hard to spread rumors about what kind of person marie antoinette was, even though she never spoke german once she touched French soil, and the austrian court itself along with most european courts spoke french mainly since it was the language of diplomacy of the day, so step back and look at history again because u made me laugh,

  • I think the triangle hat is very lovely. :)

But I felt so regret why they do not care their own people and have strategy about how to rule longer and stable time? people fight the revolution just for their bread? So ridiculous. :) The result is so nasty. We can not repeat this. :)

  • I think the triangle hat is very lovely. :)
