This really hits close to home for me - not only have I been watching this show since I was a little girl, but my name is Suzanne, and like her, I've always had problems with my body weight wise. Watching this and seeing Delta Burke be so funny and sassy and full of life and still, in my personal opinion, extremely beautiful even while being a bit heavy makes me feel better about myself. I'm proud to share my name with such a great character!

That the problem with US society. Healthy woman are ridiculed while skinny anorexic types like Tyra Banks are held in high esteem and are the standard to which all people need to aspire to. Excuse me that is just wrong...women like aren't real, they're beauty freaks and they make real women seem some how inadequate. Well, I don't buy it. Boobalopbop, trust me I never really look at women's bodies BUT honey, have you ever seen the first season of this show? Or "Filthy Rich" or anything Delta did in the early '80s? She had a beauty queens body and then some and she in fact a pageant winner check out her bio! Not to mention she has always been gorgeous just to quote Julia in the same episode "that face speaks for itself!

I think the thing is if she never had a perfect body, and her role on the show was that of a beauty queen with a perfect body, her weight wouldn't be an issue. Shes beautiful as a big woman, but compared to the way she was... Its tragic.
