  • interesting -- the British invented Port as much as the Portuguese? Was there a British name (other than Port or Porto) for Port wine?

  • @saxyguy1000 Yes, the invention of Port came as a joint effort between the British and the Portuguese. Port gets its name from the city it is shipped from Oporto, which was changed to Porto then eventually down to Port. It is the same in both languages.
