I listened to a few of your renditions of the ventures tunes again and found you make the common mistake that most do when playing them--your hurrying or racing the tune--kick it back one half step and you will be one of the few that will nail it where it belongs-and you can do it -no doubt--i really enjoy your tubes-and my criticism comes from so many yrs of experience --I also would like a hitchhiker--if you find how to order one --let me know---keep it up grasshopper..
Hey Richard; I kave had the pleasure of not only meeting Nokie Edwards personally but, attending private concerts and bar-bques at his home. He is one of the most humble and pleasant people you could ever hope to meet. Your playing style reminds me alot of his. You have that same relaxed, confident playing style, it never looks like you are scrambling. Nokie just loves to play the guitar...it's not just his occupation but also his passion!!

I'm 39, but discovered them in the 80s when i was a teenager. none of my friends could relate. the Ventures really influenced my taste in music--after them I went on to the Beatles, Led Zep, and all the other great guitar bands out there. Diamond Head is one of my favorites of theirs. let me know if you ever do a version of their "Lonely Girl."
