I perhaps know, what's wrong with your voice. Person who doesn't use to sing and wants to show something, but is scared (feels uncomfortable) s/he could sing false tries to damp down his/her voice so it sounds more false than "intented". I know it by my ex-co-worker - he tried to record something he sang and he felt like it had been recorded during night and anyone could hear his voice, so he was trying to sing silently, so his voice sounded that unsure..Otherwise your voice is ok(just unsure).
