  • While researching online I found out about a huge tire fire in 1999 that was completely intentional and set by arsonists... Stupid hicks, I'd like to settle the score and bloody them up. Oh wait, that's Mother Nature's job. And we're all gonna pay for it. Yee-haw.

  • At least there was no ground level wind...

  • did i hear someone say how do we put out a fire?????? wow

  • Lots of mosquito larvae burning up. We had several million tires near us catch on fire and they burned for almost a week Terona Brother's tires. It's now a Super Fund site. It has been years, and it's still not fully cleaned up.

  • illinois is just full of tire burning rednecks anyway let them burn too lol

  • I would've been on air for that crap.. no way I'd be breathing in smoke from tires.

  • WOW!!!! let it burn and pollute the air you breath, EPA would really fine you for just standing there ands watch it burn.......Could have called Foresty Services they have the equipment to fight it if you don't....

  • @SCVFD1241NC there not gonna get fined for letting it burn... gov agencies dont fine other gov angencies for one and 2nd you cant extinguish it with nothing....

  • WOW!!!! let it burn and pollute the air you breath, EPA would really fine you for just standing there ands watch it burn.......

  • Foam is your friend........

Call the EPA and tell them the lovely news.

  • mabas21, did that fire just stink? Very cool shots of the small trees smoking!

  • @sharppointy1 Believe it or not, it did not smell that bad. The smoke was traveling straight up and away from me. It was hot as hell though! Thanks for the comment

  • that's an awefully small hose for such a big fire.

  • @creamyfilling102 All they could use was the hose on the brush truck, the fire was in such a secluded spot crews could not get a real line back there. I have no clue as to how so many tires got back there, guessing a few at a time. Probably a tire shop that didn't want to pay the disposal fee

  • ... let it burn! Get the local kids to throw the rest of the shit all over th' place into it... Finally clean up th' ugly dump...

  • if you get about 1000 tires and burn them at the same time. you could completely destroy some of the 0-zone. get about 100000 and destroy the world. GL

  • Burning tires is an awful smell, always hate those.

  • Im surprise they didnt bring any lines in until the brush truck arrived.

  • No way to gain access with an engine, they were lucky a brush truck fit back there

  • Ya but the trucks carries 200ft of hose dont they? I guess the fire was far in the woods then

  • The fire was well over 200 feet from the engine access, they needed tankers to shuttle water in.

  • @quispamsisst2 NFPA 1961 says that an engine should carry 400ft of attack line and 800ft of supply, thats only the minimum that must be on the apparatus.

  • @KVFDbyrd252 nfpa doesnt mean shit when the state doesn't adopt it... and that standards doesnt include brush/wildand apparatus

  • this is nothing there was on in the early 80s on 21st and colfax next to the pits 3 times this size and burned for almost a week

  • did yall catch the guy who set this on fire

  • I doubt it, the fire was set in a remote area with no car or pedestrian traffic

  • man i missed a big one! Nice Video

  • Thanks for the comment Todd, sure was a hot one.

  • awesome video!! I like the sound of it burning. I bet some day they will find who was dumping them there and burning them. Love all of your vids, keep them coming.

  • Thanks for the comment, it was a pretty interesting sound coming off the pile. I doubt anyone will be caught, dumping tires is fairly common in the area. Guess the $2.00 charge for disposal is too expensive

  • Well, you never know. Maybe the "dumper" IS taking the $2. Just not disposing of them, Taking the money and running.....uggg....I`ve seen that happen here in Michigan.

  • @MIoldtimer i rember that it was like more than 10 years ago but i forgot where though.

  • Ohhh yea ok. Haha yea i guess

  • hey thats were i ride my horses man anybody hurt

  • Nobody was hurt that I know of, and you can still ride your horses back there. The fire was just south of the trail

  • Just how far off the road was it?? And I heard the bad news about GFD today, 13 more laid off, terrible. Hopefully no one gets hurt from it!

  • It is sad, the guys with the lowest seniority found out Monday when they came in for work. More bullshit from the retard mayor, hope his house catches fire

  • It was about two city blocks away from real road access

  • That whole 2nd "rutn" was supposed to be 2nd TURN!!! I are a gooder speler!!!!

  • LMAO, we all do it. I blame it on fat finger syndrome. My dumbass walked through the woods, then realized when I was leaving there was a "road" (if you want to call it that) that led all the way to the scene. Oh well, see ya on the next one. Stay Safe and stay warm

  • So THATS what it was!!!! Could see that header for miles!! Me and my kids chased it to 21st/MLK where we could get no closer. Heard it dispatched when they called M'ville out that it was a brush fire, but we all guessed it had to be tires or something due to the column. Thanks for making it back there and showing us what it was! See ya hopefully soon on 2nd rutn out west or in M'ville!!!! Take care Ed. Great job(s) as always!
