i chould understand as an artist you work so hard to see people claim your work as theirs but when they just make a fun video or fanart, fanfic, or whatever and they give credit to the original character and see no money what so ever WHATS THE BIG DEAL!!!!!!
The thing with copyrighted material, you CANNOT own it unless you buy the copyright from the copyright owner. That's the whole point of copyright. When you buy a CD or a DVD all you are doing is purchasing a licence to listen to or view your copy for personal or home use only. You try doing something with it that your licence doesn't permit, then the real copyright owner can pretty much do whatever they want to you.
When it comes to copyright, I bought it, I own it! To buy a shiny piece of plastic for over 15 bucks with data on it and not be allowed to back it up on my computer hard drive is a waste of money to purchase these shiny pieces of plastic for such high prices!
A tad bit too technical guys. I was hoping for something that was a bit more targeted to the avg Canadian. It's a good video for those that understand the technical terminology used and have been following this debate, but I think it is a hard sell to those that don't understand the terminology that well, like our politicians.
Is there a way to make a more entertaining video along these lines that will grab more attention from all sides to the cause.
There philosophy question that needs to be asked. How can the product copyright the maker? Another words how can descendents of life copyright what gone on before in nature despite what format we put it in?
I am currently writing article that poses allot of questions about copyright and how it may be void in modern times. I will book this as favourites. I explore the natural world how we abuse the life on earth then once we turn say animals into meat then copyright the meat to fossil fuel(dead animals and trees) to the atomic structures of life. Question on my site: If the atom is copyrighted does that make everyone who comes fourth with a product pay to the person who copyrighted the atom?
Great presentation. The distilled tenet of this work imbues the individual with their right over themselves, their privacy and property. To leverage the culture around them and help them become more than the sum. The corporate oligopoly is trying to create a new rental paradigm where there is a strictly enforced per use charge on an ambiguous idea that is merely discovered through innate talent and serendipity and most certainly strained from earlier works. The end of the individual is nigh.
The end of the individual is nigh. ah, no. remix is individualism? tradition (socially) oriientated cultures are usually passionate, backward, and regressive anyway. the next breakthru will likely be a monoculture mainia.
and now there is acta... -.-

The clear answer to copyright issues is to disallow American global participation and to marginalize all US law concerning copyright.

Nothing complex about copyright...I buy it I own it.

Spyware sucks. Sony sucks. Copyright law sucks. You don't own the oceans, you don't own ideas, and you don't own words.
