Checkpoints are for conditioning you to seeing more checkpoints so you don't freak out and protest. Period. Sure they catch some drunks who think they're not that drunk, but it's about acclimatising you to warrantless stops.
I support DUI laws if the cops pull you over for driving eratically, but checkpoints are the biggest bunch of B.S. ive heard. simply, its unconstitutional.
DUI laws are one law i will fight to keep in place. If you drive drunk you need to be in jail. Not on the road. all of us have seen what the out come is. Some family who has done nothing wrong ends up paying the bill. When the drunk ass hole behind the wheel hits them. Our so called god sees fit to make sure the drunk ass hole lives and the family does the dieing.
@militarysims You & your like are the reason America is being dismantled. You support suspicionless CPs, it's that pitiful! It does NOT matter why you support this unAmerican BS! War on terror, war on drunks, are excuses to circumvent the Constitution & spoon feed chicken shit zombies like you to accept it no matter the cost to our freedom!
Countless Americans sacrificed all their tomorrows to ensure every right no matter how small YOU consider it; who the fuck are you to give-up even one!!
@dima9944 You hearing voices again friend? Perhaps you have failed to take your state sponsored bipolar medications?
No one but YOU stated anything about "drunk drivers or right to kill people".
You've been indoctrinated to assume & respond with these strawman arguments because trying to defend suspicionless CP's in a Constitutional Republic (America) is unconscionable. Attempt an intelligently debating on "Check Points" & not parroting epideictic rhetoric to spin otherwise indefensible CPs.
Alcohol is legal. The state licenses the vendors then taxes the sale. If you get caught driving after consuming said legal item you will be arrested and fined. If you are jailed you will pay for every day in jail via the fine. You will have to pay an agent of the court to get "your" license back and attend stupid classes and AA as if you had actually done something wrong. In Illinois you have to pay to have a "blow into device" installed in your car after DUI and pay a monthly reading fee.
Texas had a bill had a bill this last session to this last session to start checkpoints again checkpoints again. (they are currently against the currently against the law in Texas) Luckily, the bill was killed the bill was killed.
i think whenever i put up a weak vid the viewers make up for it with amusing comments lol . I don't have a problem with DUI laws in theory; in practice I realize they can go wildly astray. maybe I should have made that more clear but it's live TV and I will never phrase anything perfectly on the fly.
The hip hop version of the Ridley Report. :) Wikka wikka yeah, woo woo. I was under the impression that live report feeds are for emergency on the fly action.
No problem with DUI laws? Talk about double standards. I guess you don't really believe in "no victim no crime then"? There are a lot of lives destroyed over DUI laws.
Dave, I would prefer if you made all of your non-breaking-news videos on a high quality camcorder instead of your phone. That phone video is seriously lacking in quality. Just my opinion. I love your vids but the phone vids remind me of Max Headroom / Max Headroom / Max Headroom from the 80's if you know what I mean. :-)
heh, this video, although screwed up, makes Dave sound like a statist, "someone like me who doesnt have any problems with DUI laws"? Really? you have no issue with DUI laws? Please clarify, you probably mean that you dont drink and drive, but it still sounded like you were in support of DUI laws.
Cell phone videos suck.

What good is a checkpoint if people can go around it. Just who are the cops really targeting.

oh also the reason I aired it live was because of its time-sensitivity. It would have been dated by the time I got tape on the air.
