@MegaHarris470 Theres alot of stories about that. The common story is that he got them hardway in Japan. Out there, the turnbuckles used to (I dont know if they still do) have huge bolts sticking out of them and his opponents used to ram his head into them, which busted him open. However, New Jack has stated that Abdullah had them surgically done to make his character look better, so who knows?

I remember him from Big Time Wrestling at Cobo Arena in the metro Detroit area. He was known then as Zelis Amara, the Madman from Sudan. His trademark was the 'illegal' karate maneuvers in the ring.  One of his favorite mantras; "You soft Americans, I can destroy you".

Inoki had it down. Abdullah was not a great wrestler, but his character was one of the greatest.

He was a nomad, who travelled the territories sporadically. He never stayed anywhere too long, wearing out his welcome. He was the most violent wrestler of his time. He is arguably the greatest wrestler to never do a long stint in the WWF or NWA.

It wasn't his wrestling either. It was his brilliant and innovative gimmick.

He was a good draw, but at 68, not so much anymore.

If you were going to 'hotshot' a territory back in the day, you brought in Abdullah, who guaranteed you lots of blood and guts.

But he was not a good pure wrestler.

He had great psychology and a great gimmick.

These made him great, not his technical prowress.
