However, as my channel page profile says, this is about the damage religion does to rational thought and science education more than anything else. The truth is that the Bible is riddled with text supporting that God is evil, and when I've pointed some of these citations out (including some of the same one's in this video) the Christian response was something similar to "These people deserve to die because they're evil," or cite some other text supporting his mercy to people, but only towards people who follow him, including his avatar Jesus, who threatened humanity with plague's.
Saying that those people deserved to die is a common attempt fundies make to take the focus off the behavior of their God. Don't let them. Usually were innocent children who certainly didn't deserve slaughter or sexual slavery. And if God is omnipotent and omniscient, then he KNEW what would happen before he created anyone, yet he did it anyway, unchanged...which means he WANTED that situation to happen. Thus HE is at fault.
@Underlings I've thought of this, and when I've brought this up, I've mentioned that if he chooses to punish people by harming others, then he indefinitely favors the lives of other people, and since so much of his punishment is directed towards women and children, it's reasonable to assume that if God exists then he would also be sexist and hates children, and favors white males over African-American's during pre-civil war America.

Also, since the best evidence we have is that the universe came into being without any intelligent or supernatural force, the existence of "sin" is not evidence of an evil god.
I love this series! I do hope you have considered spirituality though. There are many belief systems that dont depend on faith but rather personal experience. They also dont demonize other belief systems but see them all as valid paths .I consider myself to be a very logical person and probably would be an atheist if it wasnt for personal experiences ive had that i cant dismiss , even though i try.
Well, when it comes to extraordinary claims--like the existence of the supernatural--even "personal experience" is not nearly enough. The evidence must likewise be extraordinary, corroborated by testable, independent sources (science!). After all, personal experience COULD be delusion, misinterpretation or even lies, all of which we have ample evidence DO exist (a lot)...whereas we have no evidence the supernatural exists.

You are only showing that the god of the bible is evil. And he certainly is, given all the evidence you provided in this series. There are other conceptions of God in other religions though. And I challenge you to try and prove the same thing about the God found in the Koran for example. Consequently I would advise you to change the title of this series to something more accurate. Instead of 'Biblical evidence that God is evil' it should be 'Evidence that Biblical God is evil'. Thanks.
@EazySlug There's no need to change the title, since the implication is obvious: If I'm using the Bible to provide evidence about God, then it must be the God of the Bible I'm referring to. Plus, I make that clear in the actual narration.
The God of the Koran is the SAME God. Muslims don't discount the Old Testament, do they? If the Koranic God sends people to hell to be tortured forever, then how is he any less evil?

Nevertheless, if He wants you to burn in Hell for eternity because He feels like it, you'll still be burned for ever whether you like it or not. @talo757 Sure, you can choose to do what he says...but making that choice doesn't make him any less evil. What one decides to do once one realizes that the God of the Bible is evil is up to them. Personally, I think it's cowardly to capitulate to such terrorism. It takes more courage to face an eternity of torture (although, frankly, heaven sounds nearly as bad).
But if God is all-knowing, he knows you're just worshiping out of fear, not love, and thus you're damned anyway.

I think it boils all down to "Worship" . The GOD of the Bible wants to be worshiped and be known as the supreme being he is. And if you do so he may show you favors but not necessarily because " thy will be done". But if you stay true to him thru evil times he will reward you with eternal life. The problem with this video is that it dismisses all the good things GOD is doing. Yes GOD has Satan and Demons doing bad things. But the Bible itself states: Fear only GOD, and he is a terrible GOD and GOD has made Satan for his purpose. Even Jesus prayed:....And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil!! So what does that mean...It means that GOD runs the show. All Religions lie about GOD!

The truth is that the Bible is riddled with text supporting that God is evil, and when I've pointed some of these citations out (including some of the same one's in this video) the Christian response was something similar to "These people deserve to die because they're evil," or cite some other text supporting his mercy to people, but only towards people who follow him, including his avatar Jesus, who threatened humanity with plague's.

Saying that those people deserved to die is a common attempt fundies make to take the focus off the behavior of their God. Don't let them. Usually were innocent children who certainly didn't deserve slaughter or sexual slavery. @Underlings I've thought of this, and when I've brought this up, I've mentioned that if he chooses to punish people by harming others, then he indefinitely favors the lives of other people, and since so much of his punishment is directed towards women and children, it's reasonable to assume that if God exists then he would also be sexist and hates children, and favors white males over African-American's during pre-civil war America.

I love this series! I do hope you have considered spirituality though. There are many belief systems that dont depend on faith but rather personal experience. They also dont demonize other belief systems but see them all as valid paths .I consider myself to be a very logical person and probably would be an atheist if it wasnt for personal experiences ive had that i cant dismiss , even though i try.

The evidence must likewise be extraordinary, corroborated by testable, independent sources (science!). After all, personal experience COULD be delusion, misinterpretation or even lies, all of which we have ample evidence DO exist (a lot)...whereas we have no evidence the supernatural exists.

You are only showing that the god of the bible is evil. And he certainly is, given all the evidence you provided in this series. There are other conceptions of God in other religions though. And I challenge you to try and prove the same thing about the God found in the Koran for example. Consequently I would advise you to change the title of this series to something more accurate. But there are certain behaviors I consider incompatible with a god worthy of worship, including condoning or committing genocide, rape, torture, child abuse, cannibalism, etc. A single evil act can wipe out 100 good ones, and God committed more evil acts than good.

I think it boils all down to "Worship" . The GOD of the Bible wants to be worshiped and be known as the supreme being he is. And if you do so he may show you favors but not necessarily because " thy will be done". But if you stay true to him thru evil times he will reward you with eternal life. This is "i think" the true doctrine of the bible.

@Gigaloader Yeah, but that eternal life God offers consists of worshiping HIM. Worse, you lose all your memories from when you existed on Earth...meaning all that makes you YOU is gone. It might as well be a different person living in heaven, since he'll know nothing of the life you lived.

The problem with this video is that it dismisses all the good things GOD is doing. Yes GOD has Satan and Demons doing bad things. But the Bible itself states: Fear only GOD, and he is a terrible GOD and GOD has made Satan for his purpose. Even Jesus prayed:....And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil!! So what does that mean...It means that GOD runs the show. All Religions lie about GOD!
And now think about it. If GOD has all this characteristics You better start praying!!

Please reference a bible verse "where it clearly states" that humans are going to be tortured after life. The word "hell" doesn't even exists in the bible. I know this is taught by many religions like roman catholic, but is it true. Religions are man made and they tell all kind of stuff, but there is only one truth.

@Gigaloader See Revelation 20:10-15 and Revelations 21:8. They reference burning people forever in the Lake of Fire, which is what many Christians call hell. Sounds like a fair description to me.
I agree religions are man made. By definition. Belief in any supernatural creator of the universe is religion, and that's a concept created by humans.

@Gigaloader The big problem with that analogy is that a lump of clay is not sentient. Humans are sentient. Forcing and manipulating non-sentient matter to your will isn't immoral. But doing the same to a living, thinking being capable of suffering as a result of such manipulation IS immoral.
When we eventually create artificial intelligence capable of feeling, if we abuse that AI, we'll be considered evil too.

You could never compare artificial intelligence (robots etc.) created by humans with this analogy because humans only create with what is given to them.
the very material to create the robot or computer was already created by GOD. It is called matter or energy.

@Gigaloader It's a lousy analogy because clay cannot suffer. This isn't nitpicking, it's a major flaw in the analogy. If clay could suffer, the potter's treatment of clay would matter very much!
And God can only create what was given to him, too. He didn't have to earn his powers, did he? He just had them, right? That's no different from being given something. We have no choice but to use what we're "given," nor does God. It still matters HOW we use it. Same with God.

@Gigaloader We can't create something out of nothing, and neither can God. He must still use his powers to do so, powers he never earned. We own matter just as much as God owns his powers.
The universe can come into existence out of the quantum void, which itself could be eternal. No need to envision some omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, immaterial being...especially when there is NO evidence that such a thing can even exist.
I don't falsely accuse the Bible. I quote it in context.

@Gigaloader Atheists don't propose the Big Bang theory...PHYSICISTS do. And they don't propose it on a whim, but as a result of a several lines of solid evidence. It has NOTHING to do with evolution, which only covers what happened since life came into existence.
Since we have no evidence for what existed "before" the Big Bang, only mathematical suggestion such as the basis for M-theory, we cannot say what existed "before." The explanations suggest a purely naturalistic cause, though.

Tens of millions of fundies believe in the literal version of God as described in the Bible. THEY are the ones at whom I direct my videos. They and many other Christian denominations envision God with a beard, since we're supposedly made in his image. You have a problem with that, take it up with them.
