I think so. The McLaren F1 didn't exist until 1992, right? And this was made in about 1990. So it must've been before he had it..

Close, the show was made in 1991.

He may have had it on order when this was made.

This is an interesting film, and I find myself thinking about some of the things he talks about (cutting through crazy turns to try to beat traffic jams, needing to up the adrenaline when you drive) while I am driving. I qualify as someone who needs to drive, although it's only because of having to commute so awfully long each day.

The scenes he reenacts of driving the tractor are hysterical.
