They were undoubtfully the best skaters, Duchesnays victory was based on an amazing, dramatic and innovative coreography, so their victory is a Christopher Dean's victory, actually. The wouldn't have won without him.
I compared their program with the Ducheneys'. I randomly paused the video and looked at the pictures. The Russian pair's arms and legs are almost all the time parallel and the movements are synchronized. But the Ducheneys' almost don't have any synchronized movements. The Russian pair should have won the FD by far.
The biggest problem for this team wasnt their FD but that they made a very bad impression to start in their first CD. They really performed a very poor first CD and were lucky to be 2nd. That left a bad first impression and I thought their other performances especialy their OD and FD were outstanding but they couldnt get back the lost momentum from the poor first CD.
this dance pair use to give names to their programs and this one has named "the wind and the send" he was the send and she was the wind... her make up and the costume symbolized that.
These 2 ae very polished and their work is precision. They are a delight to watch. But i don't care for their costumes. That might make the difference in how the judges feel.

I like this program but marina's costume and make up are kitsch,considering the music and theme of the program.

I dont think that made the difference. The Duchesnays used the SAME costumes from last season and still won.
