  • YES... its WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOE !!!!!!!!!!°°!

  • GREAT!

  • very good clip capturing the sense of the VU I think. Did you edit this yourself?

  • @MrHeiko1970 - I pieced together film clips taken from the documentary video "Velvet Underground - Exploding Plastic Inevitable" and from the Andy Warhol film "Exploding Plastic Inevitable 1967 part2. Happy New Years :)

  • The Velvets were about 30 years ahead of their time.

  • The original Indie band

  • これを聴け馬鹿やろう

  • OCTOBER 15 2011 - WORLD REVOLUTION DAY!!!! BE THERE.

    LOOK IT UP

  • two guys were to stoned to klick the like button

  • Alejandro...Lou plays lead on this and most velvet songs...doug yule played some leads but left the band early on

  • @aubreyaardvark I thought Yule stayed on and continued the band after Reed had left. And didn't Morrison play lead on this? I always thought Morrison played these intense lead parts. Lou Reed once said of Morrisons guitar playing "Sometimes I think his guitar playing is very much like his first name -- sterling". Maybe I'm totally wrong but I hope not cause this is what I've believed for a long time now. The only thing missing from this stunning performance is Cale's droning viola.

  • yeah!!.....real music!

  • what a fuckin' great video and live tune! no band can beat the velvet underground!

  • HI, I WANT TO ASK YOU SOMETHING, WHO PLAYED LEAD GUITAR ON THIS SONG AND WHO DID IT SPECIFICALLY IN THE BAND???

  • anybody knows where to get this track? the link in description is dead, cant find this version anywere ;(((

  • Very very nice version. Thank you for sharing!

  • This is as cool as it gets. The Velvets were unique in their ability to sound utterly wrecked and completely unstoppable at the same time. And let's not forget that the bedrock of their sound was not some fat hairy-assed drummer, but a little slip of a girl. GO MO!

  • @nibs2lou And don't forget they were all friends with an heavily promoted/endorsed by Andy Warhol, essentially THE most famous modern artist, they embraced noise (via chair scoots, ha ha), and had no issue performing live with their backs to the audience. Too cool for imitators.

  • love that colour film quality. the white man blues

  • Who made this video? Incredible!!!!

  • great :) favorite

  • Aghh its great to finally see where The Strokes got their inspiration(:

I think ive made a wise choice in picking the first Velvet Underground video I see in my life

  • not one dislikee..

  • I think my head just exploded.

  • i've never heard a live version of this song before. thanks for posting. it is extremely cool and like the studio version in spirit.

  • No.1 band in the world has always been VU.

    NOT Beatles.

    Who agrees with me?

  • @submode too different to compare. they're both amazing in their own way. if music could only get this good again..

  • grrreeeeaaatt viiddeeeoooo!

  • i keep watching this film & have decided it is outstanding... i reckon whoever put it together really gets 'the velvet underground'... like, really GETS them... the person who made this is a bit of a genius... this film speaks volumes... they have spliced together exactly the best bits of footage & synced it to one of their greatest songs... it's the best film of the band i've seen... & i've seen a few...

  • you gotta listen to this people, so good! grooving

  • @stanleysoldman

    You're so right...!

    Cheers

    Tanja

  • badass

    holy god

  • badass

  • Man this song sounds so different live, it's almost a different song but it's equally good. I'm thinking if I could go to see any group live in their prime it would be the Velvet Underground. Would've been mind blowing to see these guys live.

  • best solo guitar sound.. love to hear it after long clubing....

  • This is awesome!! Love the video too, really adds to it.Is this recording from the 'March Of The Wooden Soldiers' LP?

In any case, thank you so much for uploading-has made my day! :)

  • @dirtyuncleberty - This recording comes from the CD "The Psychopatth's Rollng Stone"

  • thats pretty grungy if you ask me.. ~

  • Ball busting song, good for boning broads.....smoke some weed and go for it....its got good rhythm

  • @alvanson hahaha

  • Best American band. Easy.

  • This is insanely good!!!! I love the way the video's been edited.

  • I have never heard this version before. Un-fucking-believable! I want this, and all other live versions of Velvet Underground tunes. Damn, compared to these people and some of their contemporaries - the music of about the past forty years has been 99% absolute crap.

  • @freedomsfart More like the past ten years.

  • ha lou sounds like a nutter, like it!

  • If they walked into a party looking like that today, everyone wound know they were cool. What a freaky scene. Groundbreaking ever modern.

  • Who is the female dancer? Ingrid Superstar?

  • wow they make every other band look tame by comparison

  • amazing

  • good gritty live sound,

    thanks for the send

  • Do melhor dos velvet, mesmo!! Grande música, grande versão!!

  • think this is my favourite version

  • Great love this

  • otherworldly in Greatnness

  • Totally fucking magnificent. A lot of bands have tried but none has come anywhere near the Velvets' almost supernatural ability to sound totally wrecked and totally unstoppable at the same time. And all this while being anchored down, not by some hairy-assed macho drummer, but by a little slip of a girl. Go Moe!

  • Hadn't heard this one before. Top notch!

  • oh but it's one of their best!

  • True. Glad I found it.

  • holy fucking shit, they were so much god damn better live

  • yeah they kicked major ass live. check out any velvets bootleg from 68-69 for the best rock'n'roll (and more) ever

  • theres only one word for that; visceral

  • Man that was trippy!

  • does anybody know where i can download this bootleg? I love it much!!

  • go to the zero g sounds blog. the link is in the video description. search for velvet underground in the blog. cheers

  • Great video! Great song!

  • Awesome, you put in there pretty much almost all of The Velvet Underground footage in existence, great live recording too, thanks!!!

  • You obviously must be either: 1) 10 years old 2) Someone whose extent of musical knowledge is Disney cartoons 3) A philistine 4) An idiot. Take your pick

  • Not as boring as you... and, yeah, the audience in the video look very bored in fact. Read the first comment again & try to understand it this time

  • You're repeating the same thing over & over & have the audacity to call other people boring!!! But by doing that you did take your pick: 4) you're an idiot. So now it's official & everybody knows. Thanks

  • You obviously must be either: 1) 10 years old 2) Someone whose extent of musical knowledge is Disney cartoons 3) A philistine 4) An idiot. Take your pick 5) a boring person

  • Disney cartoons??are u fukin tonedef. 10 year olds wouldnt be listening to songs about drugs like heroin and turning tricks in NYC.obviously this music is for people more mature than you. who makes a list??who are u to call anyone an idiot for liking a band and one thats known to millions as one of

  • the most influential artists of the past 40 years.and i cant believe u used philistine. right there u made fun of a race and a race from the biblical times. do u know what year it is btw?ur f**king rude and a f**king idiot.

  • exciting cover!!

  • it ain't a cover

  • It's not the original version..

  • It's live...

  • HI, This is not a cover, this VU in 1969 in Live.

  • grat performance, but it might not be the velvet underground! just listen to the voice, it ain't lou!

  • what are you talking about? This is as VU as it gets. Listen to any of his other live stuff. VU's greatness only comes out in its live stuff, and this is probably the best version of this classic song i've ever heard. sublime.

  • Xcellent!!!! ;D

  • Alot of people might call this a cacophony i call it genius...

  • no es la velvet!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ive never heard an actual audiable Velvets live recording of a VU&Nico era song, much appreciated!

  • check out this video: watch?v=G8VIXnTL6O0

  • @doctorbenjiphd

actually this is 1969, John Cale had already left the band, they were about to release their s/t album.

  • @doctorbenjiphd The film footage is of the VU& nico but (sadly) i think this version of run run run came from 1969.

  • @doctorbenjiphd The film footage is of the vu& nico but (sadly) i think this version of run run run was from 1969. Still, its damn good!
