  • Do you have to have a saddle or surcingle?

  • Nice video! I love seeing more than just Endo using it. Makes me want to buy it now. Who sings the song in the background....I am hooked on that song as well

  • Heya thanks :) The song is by Big and Rich- from memory it's called Live This Life!

  • and if you think about it the main prey points are where the throat lash sits and the girth and we should never be above them in height so we are cruel to ride them or gear them up as well??? i think not

  • Sorry Chiefie, normally I love your videos, but I cannot see the benefits of tapping a horse who doesn't have any apparent problems. All you have proven to him is that if you wanted to, you could kill him. Sure, you say "I won't hurt you" after he lies down, but to a horse, this says "You lose."

The horse now works out of respect for a human who has proven to him that "I can kill you".

If the horse says "I won't, but I will bully you" then I see reason to use the Tap. Not here. :'(

  • Perhaps, but in saying 'I CAN kill you, but I haven't' one would hope that the bond and mutual respect between Lisa and Ik would increase.

Don't forget that he does stand up afterwards, with no apparent damage to him- I still think it's very enlightening for a horse.

I'ts not something I do every day on a horse for the sake of it.

  • We tell them "I can kill you" every time we get on their backs... The more this is done, the more it becomes easy and no big deal just like riding. We pretty much tell them "I can kill you" any time we take away their flight or their balance, by tying them or picking up and holding their feet. It's just more of the same, just something else a horse can easily get used to.

  • Ablood,

God created animals and god also put them in our care, we ask for obedience and in turn we protect the horse, for that to happen we it must trust us and feel safe.

Submission is mandatory for the rider to be safe and not be challenged in authority.

Failing to training a horse to ride or submit is inhumane because it ceases to have value outside of being a pet. Thereby, it contributes to the slaughter

  • Great stuff, nice and easy..

The only advice I can give is to wear a helmet and have the rein pressure at 80:20, 80 being the side the head is turned to because 100% on one rein will have them going in circles. It's the other 20% that holds them steady on the spot. I go over this on the flash drive. You did great but wait till you get the flash drive before doing anymore so you can do it perfect ok.

  • Awesome, cheers for that, and great point on the reins too! :)

  • But of course he will. The more people see how well the tap works ,the more they will want to go out and buy his flash drive and get all of the facts on how to use it. I think you just sold a million copies for him. bet he thanks you, be cool and stay safe.......

  • I hope so! I can definitely vouch for the technique anyway :)

  • Pauls going to love this one ,great job

  • I'm not so sure he will LOL. I don't think he likes making the method too obvious? He is trying to sell it after all!
