According sa News. Ang bumuhos na tubig ulan nung sept 26 ay mas marami pa sa average rainfall sa buong buwan. Heviest rainfall sa history ng PInas sa loob ng 40years. Kaya kahit ang Makati na di dati binabaha ng ganito lumubog. Pero pasalamat na lang na nag subside agad ang tubig baha dito sa Makati. Eh kumpara naman sa ibang cities na katabi ng Makati ilang araw na baha pa rin. So it means mas maayos naman mga drainage dito, talaga lang napakaraming tubig ulan ang bumuhos non.

Pumps are for lifting water to street level down the storm drains then down to whatever discharging body of water you got. Pasig River serves as catchment drain for makati and it looks like its not that full since the flow seems to have enough energy to flow into the river channel.

the pumps would've been useless since they need a place lower than the water-level to dump the water to. Since the river was also overflowing there's no place to pump the water to..

Underpasses are suppose to be fitted with pumps to de-water in case of severe flooding. Nothing complicated and not a very costly feature to maintain. The City Engineer should be sacked for this oversight.
