I guess it's the different religious culture and historical claims that give rise to the "animosity". It's an uphill task for the Authority to find a balance.
@crazywolfhitman According to ancient history, the Chinese already there ( Silk route to the west) since the Han dynasty 100BC after they defeated the invading northern Huns.
Uighurs came and settled at ~600AD during Tang dynasty i.e ~700 years later from the north (now Mongolia) when their empire were crushed by Kyrgiz.
wonderful place too bad the bad animosity between the Han Chinese and the Uighur. you can feel the tension when you visit the place especially if you are chinese.
This is an occupied land, it doesnt belong to China, one day we will be free! It is funny because everyone chants about FREE TIBET but not East Turkistan! BE fair!
Can u imagine if all Chinese adopted Muslim religion 0_- .What a HUGE problem that will be for Europeans.Maybe if they did all Middle east and Asia FTW!!!
there is over 200 million muslims in china -the government does not declare it-many chinese muslims dont even mention they re muslims to the governmnt---based upon number of mosques registered and the sizes for them the figures look even higher--just after world war 2 there was 50 million muslims in chang kai sheks china today the chinese government says its less than this-the governmnt is not speaking the truth-20 million muslims in soviet union?--today we see it was many times higher
