how does he get it so high ,and get vibrato on it? usually harmonics are so weak that the second i put vibrato on them or use the whammy bar, they loose their sustain and just die.
If you dont know.. google it, or youtube it so you know what it is and what it does.
Ok, he makes the harmonics at the 12th fret then he goes over to just above the neck pickup to make the fairly high harmonic.. SRV then used a ring that was on his little finger and just use it as a slide to get a really high note.
yeah i use a slider sometimes. he uses a ring? wow i would never have guessed that lmao but thats really ingenious. thank you for the reply man. gonna go try that right now lol.
@SRV4evr so she started eating all the time became FAT and bitchy , srv wouldn't touch her with a stick and VOILA U GOT THIS COOL SONG and hilarious video , all that because of SUBWAY
Hey,I can remember when Double Trouble got their first grammy .I was listening to them way before that and all I could say was finally somebody knows good music.
I'm not a big fan of all these bullshit relic and copies of blackie and Number #1 and all that Fender I can't make enough money crap,. That a side I will say there is something special about the sound of this guitar. Not $17,000 worth of special but it is great sounding.
Thats a dope little story about the creation on "Lenny". I've seen a couple of these Lenny relic Strats in Guitar Centers and things. Seems they always keep them at the highest most unreachable spot on the wall. I guess that happens when a guitar has a $ 17,000 price tag. It's unfortunate that these relic Strats are so damn expensive. Long live SRV.
I've never seen Lenora Vaughan before. I've certainly heard of her, but never actually seen her before. Her eyes lit up when she had that guitar in her hands. :)
You know how I look at it - and God forgive me for saying this.
He created SRV, and realized this "gift" was too good to give up. He tried to take him back once, but ended up taking him two tries to get him back to heaven.
U know....over the years I've tried SRV, Hendrix and Gilmour tunes. I never could nail the songs. I finally realize that you have to have sooooo much feel to play like those guys. Oh well.......I'll stick with the day job I guess;-(
People never seem to learn that good tone comes mainly from your right hand. There is a difference between just hitting a note, and really playing it. Good gear helps, but it certainly isn't everything.
good point but it also comes from the left hand. most people complain they dont get good tone. the two main reasons is they either hit the string to hard or not hard enough ( sounds like an oxymoron) or the choke the string with the left hand. dont let the string vibrate.
anyone know how he makes the harmonic go really really high at 2:42? thats nuts!

Mainly from the right hand? To be quite honest I think they are completely equal. Nice job making a highly pretentious coment.
