I dont uderstand why he switched back to marshall, personally I enjoy the JSX 120 way more than a typical marshall JVM, the Peaveys he made have a harder edged gain to them than the marshalls he's using now, and I really think its just his influence from Hendrix drawing him into Marshall. but maybe thats why he's swapping endorsements anyway, to manipulate marshall to match the peaveys and so that he can wear a marshall label like jimi did.
I dont know if any of you noticed that Joe isnt using this microphone all the time on his wormhole tour, (or didnt for that matter, I saw on facebook that he was having champagne with the band and stage crew after his last show in a particular region, not sure where, or if the entire world tour is over or not.) but he even showed "rebecca" from guitar world that his mics were changing daily with his new JVMs from Marshall.
This is a great mic on screaming lead guitar, I use it with the Cad D189 you get a smooth sound, if you want more edge do it with a 57, we also use the TGX-50 for depth and the EV classic 635 and old Turner mic's from 1970 like a 57 just smoother, and we use the new Superlux R102MKII HF it get's the most use and sounds great on just about everything. pretty much retired the FatHead and Oktava ribbon. omg it is joe !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ive been such a huge fan of him since i was 7 and now im 21!!!!!!!!!!!i am going to see him in his concert in may,,cardiff with paul gilbert supporting him!!!!!!i also so him in his super colossal tour in 2006,,cardiff!!!!!!!!!!next month i will have been playing for 16 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!all i can say is joe that u rock.

A polar pattern is the area that the mic picks up. In this case the figure 8, this means the mic picks up front and back. Not so well from sides.
