Everytime when I play the piano and I play this song I feel very sad. It's making you think about the people you lost in life. You reflected your emotions perfectly in this song. When I play the first 3 measures great grief is already coming over me.
This song brought me to tears.. Thank you for sharing this masterpiece with us. No body could ever give the same love that your mother gives you, and even though i haven't lost my mother yet, she's fighting stage 4 lung cancer.. So everyday i fear i might wake up and she wont be there. I can feel the fond memories and the sorrowful feelings in this musical masterpiece and I thank you for being able to put my emotions into a single song.. thank you.
Absolutely outstanding. I can hear through this masterpiece your sorrow, your pain, then the remembrance of what your mother was for you then on the final notes, a farewell to your mother. Magic, this piece reminds me Chopin and his romantic pieces just as this one. Your mother would be proud of you if she heard this. Through this piece, you tell us how awful is the loss of mother and you have all my condolences.
This is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful compositions I have ever heard. It actually brought me to tears. Music at its zenith. You have a sublime gift. Listening to your music makes me realize how deep the human soul can go, how Chopin and Mozart must have felt when writing their best work. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.
absolutely beautiful. this song makes me realize how short life is and that there's no room for playing games. I haven't told some people in my life I love them enough, especially my mom. I think I'll do that right now. Thank you.
@kylelandry I understand that you probably won't get this comment but I hope you do. It's the most awful thing to lose a mom. I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. My sympathy really goes out to you.
You are not only good at piano, but also you are full of passionate to the one you love like your dear mother. I believe that's why your improvisations are all so beautiful.......... I'm glad to be one of your fans.
i bought this song on itunes just recently. just listening to it made me cry. i found the video today and reading the description just made me burst out in tears. just thinking about how your music made me feel that way without even telling me a thing made me realize how amazing your talent truly is
wow. i'm so sorry. i almost lost my mother. so, even though i can't truly know your pain, i kinda understand the fear. absolutely beautiful. i'm very impressed.
I... don't cry, and especially not because of music... I cried. I felt your pain. I felt the moments of loneliness and of hurt. I know what it's like to lose your mother. This is a beautiful piece.
My girlfriend, two years ago, lost her older brother to a horrible carcrash. Six years ago, I nearly lost my only grandfather to a stroke. Recently, my best friend's mother lost her battle with cancer... I've seen everyone around me affected by the loss of a loved one. It's so hard, you feel like you can't do anything to help them, and you know that it's oh so much worse for them... Somehow, you've managed to blend all the feelings into this piece, and still make it beautiful. ---Yuki
This is just beautiful beyond words. It's just not possible to hear music like this anymore, not unless it's from kyle. I can feet every inch of sadness and pain from each time he hits those notes. Those crazy octaves on the 3rd min was just too dam godly too.
This is one of my favorite peices of yours! I can feel your pain, its so intense in this peace. This is all so heartfelt. Please keep using your emotions to write passionate songs like this. You are one of the most amazing artist I have heard, and at your age its asstounding how good you are. This peice really shows your talent, and youre pain over the loss of your mother. Absolutly amazing Kyle! Keep up the wonderful work! I look forward to buying your CD!
I saw your dad today and he told me about your YouTube channel. I worked with your mom for many years and I still miss her. This video and your commentary brought tears to my eyes. You are so talented. Your mom would be so proud. Best of luck in your career.
Man! I love the guitar because it is a very intimate instrument, but the piano has ways of evoking moods and emotions that the guitar has a hard time doing and you do it very well. You ought to learn to some jazz piano pieces or write some of your own. Trust me, jazz is rich in chord variety and some of the chords are very difficult to finger.
I'm sure she is very proud of you Kyle. Mothers always hold a special part of our heart that is never quite relieved, and although no one ever fully understands another persons pain for each person is so incredibly unique I do sympathize and give you my greatest praise. You are truly gifted in not only playing but being able to express your emotion through the music, it made me cry.
I cried. It made me remember 4 years ago when my mothe , too, fell to sickness with heart disease. She lived, but it's still very depressing to remember. This made my heart swell, and I really do hear and feel your tremendous pain. I wish I could put so much emotion into something like this. It brings out a part of me that hasn't been seen in a while, and whether or not that's good, thank you.
This made me think, about important things I was reluctant to think about.
i'm really touched by the song... your playing is extraordinary... i lost my mom when i was 11 so i know how hard it is. Thanks for sharing your music and your feelings with us... this song is just wonderful...
You can almost hear the heartbreaking cry during the third minute.
Im deeply sorry for your lost. I know that this may only be words, but I mean them nevertheless. I hope you always remember your mother as intensely as this piece shows; love never fades away Kyle
I cried when i heard this and im a boy. I thought about how i woulfd fell if i lost my mother and i couldnt bear it. This is a wonderful piece of music. I am truly sorry about your lost, but if your mother was here she would truly be proud. I am proud of you and i dont even know you.
Kyle, your ability to play the piano is amazing. It's truly an inspiration for me as I play the piano sometimes myself. I'm so sorry about your mother too, I have had friends who also lost their mothers and fathers recently and it has been tough for them as well as me. Keep up the great work, I love your music :D
Kyle, this is excellent. I haven't fallen in love with one of your pieces in awhile, but this did it for me. It's wonderful that you can harness your emotions and put them into music, for it is clearly expressed here.
OMG, this piece should be shared with the world; it has the capacity to move one to another realm. Please don't keep this; have it published, for you need to be heard. The world would benefit from all the emotion in your music. Your Mom must be so very proud. You have an amazing talent.
Man, i love the way you play, but most of all, the soundof your piano is just amazing. Could you please just tell me the exact brand of your piano ? what is is exactly ? how much did you buy it? I intend to buy the same one very soon ! Please email me when you got that message ! thx ! And keep playing dude, you're awesome !
I can feel the love, the pain, the sorrow, and happiness from this improv. I'm sorry about your mother, but I know if she were here, she would be so proud.
Alot of people can play the piano, but not everyone has the ability to put so much expression and heartfelt feeling into a piece of music that it moves one to tears. You're a truly great musician, and I can't wait to hear more from you. Keep up the awesome work. From one musician to another. <3
Dude pleeeeeaaasssse upload sheets for this or sell them or something. I wouldn't think twice about buying. This piece = my all time favorite. I'm being totally serious. When I think about all the composers and music created that I've heard, I always conclude this to be the greatest.
This is a masterpiece in the making. Its full of emotion and even made me as a listener feel a feeling of sadness. Your a great musician and Im sorry to hear about your mother.
you really should make a CD...I've listened to almost all your songs. You play with such emotion, it's hard to find a true musician like you nowadays. You feel your songs instead of just playing the music...you have some amazing skills, in performance and composing.
5 stars! This is beautiful! Absolutely gorgeous! I've been working on my improv skills...hopefully I'll be good enough to write songs like this one day. It's so full of emotion...it's like a modern style with a twist of the romantic period incorporated in it. Well done! =D By the way, is that a Chopin book of preludes?
So full of emotion dude. Good length and everything, awesome song! Though... Personally I think I could listen to you play that way with that fullness for a few hours...
Hey Kyle, me and you are like. we like to improv, we like to share our emotions and i'm just beginning with my piano skills, i too lost a mother at an early age, like around 5. so all i have is a picture of her and memories. You have inspired me even more now. i will write a song for my mother. thank you
kyle, without a doubt your mother and those whom love you are smiling down or at you at the moment, you have sure made them proud that is for certain. continue playing with your heart and may your loved ones and God continue to watch over and guide you
Kyle that was awesome - haven't heard the piano played like that for ages. Reminds of when I first heard Horowitz and the lush sounds he got out the piano, the raw emotion. Wonderful and you have inpsired me too. Thanks!
I hadn't read the description when I listened to this at first, when listening I started to remember my Step father who'd passed away in 2004 and decided to read the description; he was my main inspiration in playing music, he always praised my music even when it wasn't that great and to this day I miss him and the hugs he would give. I have yet to find someone who could give an embrace like him. He was a great man. Thank you for letting me remember him. Thank you Kyle....
That was one of the most beautiful songs i've ever heard. My dad wanted me to play piano and he passed away shortly after I started. I've been playing for about 10 years now and I wish more than anything he could hear me. But I also think music travels to wherever they are and they can hear every note. You are really inspiring :)
This is the first video on Youtube to make me cry! For nine minutes I felt your pain... you're amazing and I know your mother looks down at you from up there with a smile saying; That's my son, with the magic fingers!
I lost my aunt who was more of a mother to me then anyone else. I know the pain and the sorrow. I feel it all over again listening to you play and it brings down all those tears that i thought were gone. I love it not because it brings back the pain but simply because it also brings back her memory. Thank you so much for keeping memories and dreams alive. = )
@kylelandry Have you got a "sendable" copy of this music? I remember when you uploaded this, it totally blew me away, it was incredible, and I've wanted to learn it ever since =)
Emotion is easily the most important and powerful part of music, to feel what the artist is feeling, and the artist's ability to confer this feeling to others is a newly lost art.
But I can see from this that there is still music and musicians that can move a person to tears, that can convey all of the ups and downs of bittersweet memories of lost loved ones.
Kyle, you're an incredibly talented man and your music is simply beautiful. This song is brilliant and thank you for sharing it with us.
Thanks ZeonTwilight =). Many pieces written 50-200 years ago are still being performed around the world today, quite often casting tears upon a very small percentage of the audience. Don't give up on the musicians of this century please --there's many of us!
This is true, I wouldn't give up entirely on music. That would be quite a waste. There will always be great musicians. They are just a little harder to find sometimes.
You mean you're going to put this into writing? Do you plan on uploading it to share? Please do, there's no way I'll be able to figure this out by ear.
lol most of ur songs makes me stare out into space...=o but i really like this one because it has a strong emotion, and i think all people that play music should play with emotion
That was down right amazing. I kid you not, this improv brought tears to my eyes. You truly are outstanding and insperational to piano players and non piano players alike :)
.......fucking hell man.......i think many people can feel your pain from this peice......bloody awesome! 'sigh' not much else that i can say.....just amazing!
This song is the most amazing piece my ears have been blessed to hear. Kyle, you music is awe inspiring and you should really consider getting your p.h.d in music composition, because I am absolutely sure you would be even more popular than you are on youtube. You never cease to amaze my Kyle, you never do. I'll keep watching you videos until you stop making them. Keep up the good work.
kyle, i love the way of how you put expression into your music. I can honestly say you are by far the best piano player I've ever heard, even better than all these music guys with phd's. It is one thing to play boring classical music for the sake of piano musicianship, and it is another thing to play stuff what people want to hear which the defines the good pianist.
Sorry about your mom, when I even think about losing mine, my heart sinks, I almost lost her a year ago and I was so worried. And just a few weeks ago my sister fell and hit her head and was unconscious for 16 hours and by time we got to the hospital to see her, she was life-flighted to a bigger hospital which they only do if they think they are going to lose the patient, thankfully she pulled through and woke up :).
3:10-3:30 ,5:30-6:00 That screamed emotion! I don't know about anyone else but that was just awe beautiful.
The whole piece felt to me like the calm before the storm in the beginning, the storm in the middle and finally the sun peaking out from storm clouds at the end of a storm. I was sitting, listening, literally seeing that in my mind.
Kyle, I've been listening to your work for almost a year now. I also lost my mother at eleven years old, and I can honestly say I empathsize with your loss. Listening to this piece was a perfect emulation of what that feels like. It spoke to me more clearly than any words could describe and only fall short. Thank you for your music, and the impact it's had on me. I always listen to you when I need to write or work on my art. This piece really put it all into perspective. Please keep it up
im sorry about your mom, i really am i cant imagine that... but i love how when you play its so beautiful ^_^ the piano shakes too which i think is kool haha
yeah man like darthguy3 said that really "sucks" to lose someone who means the world for you ,put the music was heavenly ,great work kyle ,hope your mother heard that ^-^ .God rest her soul.
Incredible. Much music make me wanna cry. But with the text combined with the piano..You made me. I feel with, I cannot imagine how it would be to lose my mother at eleven years of age. I hope you one day will get to rid yourself of your pain. You truly have my deepest condolences.
The way you play is so beautiful that I can fell the emotion radiating through my body. Really. You are incredible. You mom would be very, very proud.
The memory of your mom will live forever in the beauty of your songs. As long as you have those keys under your fingers, you'll be with her always.. RIP Ms. Landry
Kyle, this is a very powerful improvisation. I know you loved your mother very much. She left a wonderful son in her place. It brought many tears to my eyes. All I can say is Wow....most beautiful.
Your mother must be proud of how far you have come without her by your side. I can hear you, your wounded but still strong heart. Losing someone isn't about losing strength, but is to gain a new courage to stand up again. The Drug called Music, thank you.
I too know what it's like to lose a parent. My dad past away a while ago.
It's amazing how you've channelled all the emotion that comes along with dealing with the death of someone so close. This song honestly brought me to tears.
I've been a fan since the early "556" days, and i still check your videos out regularly. It's great to see how far youve come along in all these years. The song (in places) really captures how sour life can be.
It's beautiful, amazing. I felt the memories you are having of her, a mix of eternal love for her, sadness and questions why. I felt something like this when I lost my grandmother when I was 11 years old, she was the one I considered a mother to me. I am crying. I still miss her. You are finally so strong and lucky - you are able to express your feelings in my favorites's way- muisc. Please never stop doing it. Kiss
Everytime when I play the piano and I play this song I feel very sad. It's making you think about the people you lost in life. You reflected your emotions perfectly in this song. When I play the first 3 measures great grief is already coming over me.

Kyle that was awesome - haven't heard the piano played like that for ages. Reminds of when I first heard Horowitz and the lush sounds he got out the piano, the raw emotion. Wonderful and you have inpsired me too. Thanks!

Thank you, really. You play the piano in a way I've never seen.

I think that your mom is smiling when she hears this and must be very proud of you.

That was one of the most beautiful songs i've ever heard. My dad wanted me to play piano and he passed away shortly after I started. I've been playing for about 10 years now and I wish more than anything he could hear me. But I also think music travels to wherever they are and they can hear every note. You are really inspiring :)

ZeonTwilight 2 years ago 8
Thanks ZeonTwilight =). Many pieces written 50-200 years ago are still being performed around the world today, quite often casting tears upon a very small percentage of the audience. Don't give up on the musicians of this century please --there's many of us!
Kyle
kylelandry 2 years ago
This is true, I wouldn't give up entirely on music. That would be quite a waste. There will always be great musicians. They are just a little harder to find sometimes.

Pick up any theory book, and yeah. People can learn to play the piano very well.
But, the hardest thing about playing the piano (or any musical instrument), is backing up what you're playing with emotion...
And WOW. This was abosolutely bursting at the seems with emotions...
Brilliant. This was more than music...this sang to my heart. Wow.
5/5 and wishing I could rate it so much more.

rukazu77 2 years ago
kyle, i love the way of how you put expression into your music.

That was just.........WOW.

I felt something like this when I lost my grandmother when I was 11 years old, she was the one I considered a mother to me. I am crying. I still miss her. You are finally so strong and lucky - you are able to express your feelings in my favorites's way- muisc. Please never stop doing it. Kiss
