  • Even though it's a good message, would the average 5 year old get it?

  • @newyoikmabsta No that is why I say disney is not only for little kids.

  • I am a native on the rez, and never befor have I ever been called a savage. The world has gotten better, I know this.

Plus this is awsome, just luve the colors of the war paint! :)

  • And to think, when I was little and I first saw this, I thought Radcliffe was pretty cool.

I just watched it again, and now I know differently. Radcliffe, you are a racist bastard. Fuck you.

  • my 5 year old ask saw this for the first time afew days ago and asked "daddy why dont Disney make good movies anymore"?

  • @Kakariko505

So your kid didn't like Princess and the Frog and Tangled then? Majority say those are the best Disney movies since the Disney Renaissance.

  • This song is so great... I get chills everytime I listen to it

  • I always hated how pocahontas stopped the fight when I was a kid

  • I don't know why everyone keeps saying, does anyone here thinks she has Jack Sparrow compass? This came first, so shouldn't it be, does anyone here thinks Jack Sparrow has John Smith/Pocahontas compass?

  • you are so right. the british are the savages.

  • As much as I love the character, his song is a bit racist. But it just goes to show how education Disney is.

Any dumbshit kid would think "Yeah, savages"

Any clever kid would think "This tells me a lot about racism, how we were and how much more civilized we have become."

  • @captain0ldy0da More civilized..? Someone really slept through the 2nd WW and the tention in middle east or even the US right now... xD this is nothing racist like people think, it's real life. We haven't come "far" from any place, we are and always have been in a standstill.

  • @harthaljas MORE Civilized.

  • if you pause exacly at 1:52, it looks like hes facepalming himself. thumbs up if you agree

  • Pocahontas: If you kill him you have to kill me too.

    Chief Powhatan: Okay (swings club)

  • racist ass movie

  • Now today, we moved on. Now it's, Terrorist, terrorist. Barely even human. Terrorist, terrorist.

  • Don't worry guys, Daniel Day Lewis will come and save the day.

  • I have so much respect for the Disney movies made in the 90's cuz then Disney actually had the guts to go out on a limb and make things that may not have been the least offensive but were politically correct and in this case true to what things were like those times.

  • It can't be racist. This is how the natives were viewed by those of European descent.. it teaches kids how wrong it was, too. Great movie,

  • Ah, 240p, we meet again.

  • SANDWICHES! SANDWICHES!

  • They're not like us, so they must be evil....wow that mentality has not changed in the 2010's

  • I love how you have the visual cut off, emphasizing the vocals at the very end

  • wish i could run and sing at the same time! :P

  • This isn't racist it reflects on what Europeans thought of Native Americans at that time and then switches to the modern belief that we were actually the savages.

  • Comment removed

  • @Wolfgirl259 How is it racist? Because back then Disney still had balls and actually took on mature issues such as racial division and tension?

  • @Wolfgirl259

how the fuck is it racist?

  • this used to scare me so much!

  • My history teachers freaking HATE this movie. XD

  • @jediewok16 yeah because Pocahontas is really 12 when all this happened and they didn't break into song every two minutes!

  • @Wolfgirl259 Really? I'd say she was about 15.

  • @LovePikaMusic No, she's 12 when she met John Smith and the settlers for the first time. watch?v=gkyaBG07-G0

I also read the original writings of John Smith, saying how the Indians tied him up for a day, overnight, and the next day, he was about to get clubbed to death on the had, but Pocahontas rushed in and put herself over him, stoping her father the cheif, saving his life. And in that writing, he said Pocahontas was 12, the original writing.

  • @FireStormBaller oops, i mean clubbed to death on the head, not had.

  • @jediewok16 Nor did she marry the handsome hero, she married a dick and they grew tobacco, she did nothing.

  • @jediewok16 WHY THE FUCK?!?!?

  • @CapnELSAN B/c technically it is historically inaccurate. I don't care though- I think it's a great movie- a part of my childhood.

  • If i had an indian name it be chief thunder cock.

  • I love the bit about "I wonder if they even bleed," because we already saw that Kokuom, a Native, didn't!

  • Cabbages, Cabbages,

    Oh so green and leafy

    Cabbages, Cabbages,

  • Wonder if they even breed? your dirty bastard...

  • @silverleaf7878 Bleed.

  • @LordFhalkyn oh, sorry XD

  • Wonder if they even breed? your dirty bastard...

  • friendly animals, A Talking Tree?? Pocahontas used to smoke a shitload of Peyote

  • AVATAR all over the fucking place

  • I AM SMITH, FREEDOM IS. CHASTISE THE WAR CRIMINALS/CRIMINALS OF HUMANITY, OR YOU ARE ETERNALLY CONDEMNED AS ONE OF THEM.

  • As a kid, this scene scarred me shitless.

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaanyone else hear the 'dirty freaking devils?" at around 1:14???

  • @MrsCullenHale i believe its dirty stinking devils

  • @MrsCullenHale i thought it was dirty flithly devils...

  • @MrsCullenHale ithoughtitwas"dirtyshriekingdevills"btwsorryboutthisbutmyspacebardoesntwork-.-

  • the only savages i see in this movie are the british

  • @AzzaBoi95 just be glad the settlers wernt scottish then they would be 5,000,000 times more savage than anyone

  • @BlackSpittingCobra true that, i agree with you, not in a sterotypical way of course

  • @AzzaBoi95 Actually, it's Ratcliffe because he knows how to politically corrupt and germinate the minds of all Englishmen including the King due to his greed and hunger for power.

  • @kryptonianpowers I agree with you, but then again, when you compare the red indians and the british over who were more savage-like, the only true answer will be the British.

  • @AzzaBoi95 savenges are the enemies and all of them are evil and we are good but in there eyes they say the exact same thing so good and evil do not exist all is good america ,al qada , russia, china, all groups of the worled all is good and evil so there fore it dose not exsist just two men with different ideas

  • @deadpool514 i know exactly what you mean, but if you read my comment again, i say "the only savages in this MOVIE are the british". And incase you didn't know, invading people's country, slaughtering their people and stealing their land is pure savegery. I'm not saying British people are savages, I'm saying that in this movie/part of history, the truth of the matter is, the real savages were the British.

  • @AzzaBoi95 Whereas, back in actualy history, all of the tribes were completely seperate and as diverse as any other peoples in the world. A lot of them were aggressive and savage towards the colonists, others traded and worked with them.

  • @TheSevenCamels that might be true, but then again, you can't really compare that with what the British did to them, which believe me, was a lot worse.

  • this song gives me chills every time...

  • Instant Tear Jerker

  • This should be a heavy metal song

  • Anyone think at 1:15 Thomas looks either scared or guilty? Maybe coz he just shot an Indian?

  • Quite possibly, the best conflicting song in Disney history.

  • i love the red haired and black haired guy they say their from england but that with the scot/ irish accsents

  • My teacher was talking about how Europeans thought people who were different were savages this song got stuck in my head

  • Lol, I remember watching this in elementary school. All the boys would randomly break out chanting "Savages! Savages! Give me a banaaa~na!" and annoyed all the girls that loved the movie. Ah childhood...

  • I always think of this while playing Skryim.

    CABBAGES, CABBAGES

  • This song used to get me hyped when I was a kid. My brother, cousins and I would start running around in a circle waving our toy guns lol

  • i wish i had a talking tree to talk to and help me solve my problems :(

  • I love this song , this scene and this movie <3

  • some of the settelers speak in irish/scottish accents

  • All time favorite Disney movie f*ck the haters :p

  • @hangover844 and also native americans are related to Asians so they naturally have straight hair so that could be why her hair is seen that way

  • Bro, the pale face is a demon! FTW!

  • In the original pocahontas movie, where he says in the song "That's what you get when races are diversed" he actually sing "There's whole disgusting race is like a curse" kinda harsh for Disney don't ya think?

  • thank you dsney for another racist movie for impressionable children. Also id like to point out something that as a girl bothers me Jenna Marbles pointed it out as well how the heck can Pocahontas' hair be so perfect when that chick probably doesn't even own a brush

  • @hangover844 well actually this movie is somewhat teaching that you should accept others even if they are of different races.you get this song which is two different sides showing their ideas of the other whereas in "if i never knew you" it shows they find beauty in eachother's people.so it is good for kids to watch actually

  • kardashians, kardashians

    barely even human.

  • Aww they think so highly of each other!

  • rather than picturing the injustices of the white men to the native americans I picture how almost every human being to do animals

    think about it......

we rob animals of their homes and claim as ours, we see them as different so therefore dangerous and below us and when they fight back to defend themselves and maybe injure or kill one human being we hunt down thousands of them without mercy

  • 'They look nothing like me, that means they must be evil!'

    Subtle, Disney.

  • @lordfhalkyn where did you hear that?, links please...

  • this is awesome but the french version is so much better. more emotion.

  • @beccatostitos The French version isn't better, it doesn't have more emotion.

  • Odd fact about Indians:

They never were the politically correct, tree-hugging peoples that Disney presented them as. They were the remnants of a collapsed civilization- the evidence of trade routes throughout the North American continent is still evident. (I'm not saying I condone the crimes against them.)

Another interesting tidbit was that the Great Plains used to be all woodland. Guess who chopped it all down?

    No, not Europeans.

  • @LordFhalkyn Please send me those links too.

  • @LordFhalkyn They were the politically correct, tree-hugging people that Disney presented them as. They weren't the remnants of a collapsed civilization-the evidence of trade routse throughout the North American continent isn't still evident. YOu are saying you condone the crimes against them. The Great Plains used to be all woodland, but yep, the Europeans chopped them. Nice try, but thumbs down and flag for spamming.

  • @FireStormBaller

I don't condone what they did. I still have the sources, if you want them.

  • @LordFhalkyn Yes you do. I have sources that says God exist, so that must be true. I want proof.

  • "[T]hey have a mind to till the soil, and the love of possessions is a disease with them. These people have made many rules that the rich may break but the poor may not. They take tithes from the poor and weak to support the rich who rule. They claim this mother of ours, the earth, for their own, and fence their neighbors away." -Chief Sitting Bull, 1877 Powder River council

  • This is what we feared. The paleface is a deamon.

The only thing they feel at all is greed..

Beneath that milky-hide there's emptyness inside.

I wonder if they even bleed ?!

  • I'm anti-straight. Sorry. Man and Woman are really not that equal in sociaty.

  • I remember cheering on simba when he fought scar.

I remember booing at Ursela when she took Arieal's voice.

    W. Disney forever.

  • Destroy their evil race until theirs not a trace left dark words

  • this sound sucks....i need my disney classics ten times louder....

  • Good Song :) <3

  • that`s where pirates of the caribbean got the spinning compass that shows what your heart wants, etc. from. . .amirite?

  • @CrazyBellatrixify From the start, John Smith friend, the guy telling everyone that John Smith been capture, said that they're headed North. And compasses points North, so that's why Pocahontas was able to meet them.

  • i love this version, "the only thing they feel is greed"

  • she's lucky she was due south of them. or that could've ended badly.

  • @wavebaby92 She's not exactly due South of them, if you watch the ending, she came from the Native American side, she was just farther out. Like SouthWest and the English/British people were SouthEast or something like that.

  • Fun fact: in real life Ratcliffe was overly generous with not only trading with the Indians, but winning them over in order to better both sides. They repaid him by skinning him alive with sea shells. That's the actual story, not this one, which was written by Jews to push race mixing in a time of great racial strife (LA Race Riots, ect). Walt Disney would be rolling in his grave if he saw what the Jews did to his legacy.

  • @skewbuh WTF are you even talking about?

  • Its funny cause they say pale face is a demon and the white dude I hate at school I call demon.

  • @power1mil awkward... 0_o

  • @power1mil

    Racist.

  • And this just made my month....

  • @Legacychildren FYI Pocahontas and John Smith never had a physical relationship. At least there is no evidence.

  • Does anyone else think that's Captain Sparrow's compass?

  • @BookwormishBecca How did I not think of that??? :)

  • @BookwormishBecca no, sparrows is a box shape

  • This song always makes me break out in goose flesh... so good.

  • Kinda low quality.

  • fyi Pocahontas was only 12 in reality. john smith was a pedophile

  • @Legacychildren pedobear approves :D

  • I sing 3:47 onwards in my head when I'm running for the bus.

  • @Tripicality me tooo
