I played a demo.. awesome game! In my opinion, as good as Halo! @painfulgrapeshot I agree, jedi knight and kotor make it feel like a different universe, and the planets and times are too different in those games. This and battlefront are the closest to the movies.

Beautiful game. The best video game intro in my opinion and I'm very dissapointed that they havn't made a sequel yet. IF they aren't, they should at least remaster this game and release it for the new consoles. That would be awesome.

This was quite possibly the best Star Wars game ever made. Only this game and the older X-Wing and TIE-Fighter games truly made you feel like you were IN the Star Wars universe. Every other one was too artificial.

@GabisonStudios Yes, in fact, I've played both. KOTOR just didn't work for me, I found that lightsabers didn't go well with turn based combat. I very much liked the Jedi Knight series (Kyle Katarn is badass), but I found Republic Commando much more enjoyable.

Battlefrount was also fun but not that good.

Jedi Outcast 2 was and still is my favorite Star Wars game ever ( KOTOR also , they are equal)

I loved RC but i don't know something is missing ( certainly because of the ending and the fact that there is no sequel)

I heard few years ago that they wanted to do Empire Commando.

I loved Kotor (possibly the best story in a star wars game for me ) , jedi outcast was INCREDIBLE ( i still play it and i love to play some bad ass dual ) , Shadows of the Empire was AWESOME (still have it , have to finish my "jedi" run ) , the Rogue Leaders series was awesome (rebel strike wasn't that great but the first 2 ? aaaaw)

yeah. THEY ARE GREAT. I was hoping they would base this off of the book a little closer but I still love this game. It starts with hard contact and will probably end with a new book called imperial commando coming out on October 27, 2009. They are really good if you want to try at your local library or something. They are kinda long for some, but they make up for it in good story and humor and action.

Yes Lucasarts is completely oblivious to the fact that the sequel would do so well for them. The first RC would have done great, but Lucasarts was too concentrated on selling Battlefront 2 rather than this game, otherwise I think this would have been almost if not as popular as Halo.
