I went to school with alot of LDS members, and they used to talk so much crap about the "other races" getting pregnant and how they would never be like that, their so much better, the all of a sudden my senior year more LDS girls were pregnant than any other race. This is from my experience, and I know not all of them are like this, but majority are. and i know I am not given to anybody, I am not an object. If anything a man is lucky if he can even marry me.

I'm not saying I agree .. . but when you think about it in the context of their beliefs and their religion Polygamy makes very much sense. When Joseph Smith basically founded the church of LDS they were not great in numbers. They had far more women than men and they needed to grow as a religion. Plus, their faith teaches that there are many "spirit gods" waiting to be born (it is the belief that we are all spirit gods) and so the more wives you have the more kids!

this is not correct information. I am not a Mormon and Ido not necessarily agree with their ways, however my partner was a devout Mormon for 35 years and I have studied the religion considerably. Jesus was NOT just a man. He was (and is) the son of God. However, those of the LDS faith believe we are ALL children of God and are demi-gods ourselves.

In the early 1980's, the FLDS church in Colorado City/Hildale implemented a '1 man rule' doctrine, giving total control to the then prophet, LeRoy Johnson.
This group split from them at that time and created a new community called Centennial Park, located 5 km away from the FLDS. They are led by a priesthood council, as oppose to just one man.
Like the FLDS, they practice arranged marriage but they do not follow the extreme practices of the FLDS church and Warren Jeffs
