  • I'm having this repair done soon. I'm a truck driver and when I go to work I'm away from home for 1 or 2 weeks at a time. Doc estimates 6 weeks after surgery before I go back to work. Will physical therapy go longer than 6 weeks? Don't know how I'd manage therapy twice a week when I'm 700 to 1000 miles from home

  • @590221010 also the shoulder is realy easy to hurt after surjery when your cleared too go back to sports. take it easy and first and start of reaal slow. it might feel exactly the same as your other shoulder but it isnt. also if you lift weights do not light if your shoulder is hurting. if u r an athlete this surjury is a killer. im a high school freshman and i really dont want to miss another year ooof basketball. good luck again cuz your gonna need it

  • @590221010 yes i do need another surjery. me and my parents are debating if i should wait tilmthe end of the bball season. before surjery i had about 8-10 dislocations and after i had 4. i got an mri and a stretched out my socket and had a hole i the tissue but my labrum was fine(after surjery) also my bone is starting to wear done from the dislocation which is extremely bad. right now im playing in an instability brace for sports. if you do get this surgery take the pt seriously. good luck

  • Had this surgery 4 months ago and just got cleared for sports.... My 2nd time playing basketball after i got cleared my shoulder popped out again. Fml.

  • @basketballfan925 You serious?!!? I was planning on getting this surgery in January... how many dislocations did you have before getting surgery? What did the doctor say after you dislocated it after you were cleared for sports? Do you need surgery again?

  • what are those bubbles

  • @kx85rider79 they fill it with water and some other stuff

  • i had surgery a week ago on tuesday they fixed a tear in my shulder still in a sling gunna take it off nxt week and the docter said ill be fully recovered 4 to 6 months

  • I had this done three days ago... Worst pain in my life! Anyways I am hoping it wont last long

  • ageeee, sorry to hear you popped again! how did that happen? and what has the hospital said as to what caused it to go after you'd had surgery? I've read many people say they wished they'd kept up the physio (not suggesting that applies in your case) and said they got fed up/bored and so didn't tighten up the ligaments as much as they could have. Second surgery, you poor thing!

  • @Janclearwater football (american) and i took a huge hit while i stumbled and arm was out causing it to come out then wrestling out again

  • Had this done about two months ago after basketball incedent and im finally starting to move my arm

  • 19 year old Son dislocated first from poor landing snowboarding; being sporty he feared dislocation all the time and did 4 more times. He had operation 2 days ago, arthroscopic, full general, shortened some of the ligament/tendons. When he came round he couldn't feel a thing as arm had pain blocker, this wears off many hours later, he is now in lots pain despite meds, looks like he's been shot front to back shoulder. No driving and sling on for 6 weeks, 6 months physio. Time will tell if worthIt

  • @Janclearwater he will be done by 5 months I had it in 09 dec. but Sadly my shoulder popped out again 3 weeks ago i need another surgery :(

  • I'm having something along these lines soon, not 100% what will be done in the surgery as its potentially the tendons or its to do with the chip in my shoulder I get alot of semi dislocations.. Only getting it done so I can play rugby again (did this playing rugby.. dislocated and chipped but it aso popped into palce on its own straight away)..

Just hoping the pain after the surgery isn't too bd along with the fact it hopfully will be sucessful..

  • since when there is water in the shoulder joint? shouldnt water be switched with blood or veins?

  • @abdulrahmanMuhmmad They put water inside of knees, shoulders, etc. so they can have room to work and see from the distension.

  • guyz which is best? open surgery or archtscop? dont care about recovery time, just which gave excellent results

  • I did this surgury today. I'm anticipating the night time now, since everyone keeps saying how bad it'll hurt at night when the anesteeja goes away =(

  • i had this done feb 15th of this year... it is now april 8th... i have been through PT every 3 days since... i am feeling much better... some people have complications im sure... but if you have a bone spur, get it done and get on with life

  • My shoulder went from bad - to trash - after this procedure. Just saying, be careful! The VA are the ones that did it, but never - ever again.

  • @puritain1 I am very sorry you had a poor outcome. That stinks. My husband must have this surgery - no choice. Hoping for a decent recovery. We know someone who had it done and it takes a long time to recover and you must do therapy faithfully. Hope yours improves in time.

  • @puritain1 can you please go into more detail as to what happened??? i am considering getting this after more than 10 dislocations on my left shoulder

  • @590221010 Recovery took about a year and a half. I dealt with pain in places I hadn't experienced before - and the pain that initially had is still there (even now!! So I emphatically urge anyone to avoid this unless it's a last resort! Avoid the VA - they employ bottom-tier grads strait out of medical school for cheaper wages - something I wish I knew when I was 23.

  • I had same surgery 3 years ago, take me about 6 mounths to do my regular job,2 weeks ago I have my other soulder fix Im still on recovery but I know now tha take leat 10 weeks for me to go back to work, yes make sure u go to teraphy 2 times a week and do u teraphy on home EVERY DAY 2 o 3 TIMES I MEAN.Go head I have yours done sunspossible,u see tha diferens,I truss doc MADDOX from TOC CENTER ON HUNTSVILLE,AL,GOOD LOOK,and go head

  • is there any additional benefits or limitations after arthroscopic shoulder sugery? im a 16 year old breakdancer and dislocated my shoulder around 6 times. I just got an MRI today and this is the second MRI i got for my shoulder. My doc and mom told me this is not good for a 16 year old boy and my doctor said i will 95% likely to be put through this surgery but im just wondering..after the surgery, will my shoulder's condition be more beneficial, limited or just like before my first dislocation?

  • Just make sure your surgeon operates on a Merivaara Practico Shoulder Arthroscopy Operating table, the surgery is much faster.

  • I hurt my shoulder fingering my gf too hard

  • @dhide14 dont finger your grandfather then!

  • had this done a few years ago, definitely worth it, before my shoulder came out in my sleep, it was bad. actually hurts to watch this

  • had this done a few years ago, definitely worth it, before my shoulder came out in my sleep, it was bad.

  • @MrFrogger55 It is possible that you can strengthen the shoulder but you should really should go see a doctor and have their opinion on it especially if you shoulder keeps coming out. I'm 16 and getting this surgery because my shoulder would pop out and therapy didn't help strengthen it (and I tore my labrum). It really depends on each individuals condition but i would go to a doctor and ask for their take on it.

  • @suckerpunch845 did you get this surgery yet? how bad is the pain afterwards? is your shoulder better than before now?

  • @590221010 I got the surgery done in November, so it's been a little over eight months. I didn't really have much pain after the procedure but that could be due to having my arm being completely numb the first day and then having pain pills to handle the rest. I didn't really start having lots of pain until i started physical therapy. My shoulder is a lot better after having had this procedure done. Before I had it, I couldnt throw a baseball more than probably 45 feet without pain,

  • @suckerpunch845 are you finished your recovery yet? how long do you have to be in a sling after the surgery? i am seeing a surgeon on august 31 to talk about it

  • @590221010 I am just about fully recovered. My doctor told me it would take about a year to fully recover, so i have about four more months and I was in a sling for about six weeks after the surgery.

  • @590221010 now I'm back to playing 5-6 games a week and starting in the outfield making those long throws, so this did help my shoulder a lot.

  • I have no confirmed tears at all but i have dislocated my shoulder 4 times now. I'm 19 and I don't know if surgery is still the right option. I feel like i'm still too young, I think that I am young enough to strengthen it myself with extensive training. But I cannot have my shoulder keep coming out. I don't know what to do. Should I get Surgery?

  • @MrFrogger55 I kept doing the same thing at football practice. Then one time i had a sever dislocation and the ball of my shoulder went straight through a muscle and almost through my skin. If i was you i would go-ahead and see an orthopedic. They will take it from there. If they tell you that you need surgery, dont be afraid. It is so worth and and recovery time is only 6 months. I had a unique tear though, my surgeon has only seen my type of tear 3 times in his 36 years of being a surgeon.

  • shoulder surgery sucks

  • Hmmm... I've been suffering for over 3 years from shoulder pain due to impingement and a small-to-medium full thickness, partial width tear of the supraspinatus. I've tried every type of therapy, with limited results. Sooo...it might come down to this procedure after all. I'm not sure whether I should have watched this or not! He removed 6-7mm of the underside of the acromion?! Yikes! I just want the pain to stop though, so I can live a normal life again. If this is what it takes, I'll do it.

  • @theturbotortoise I had my right shoulder decompressed 18 months ago and it is still a complete pleasure being out of pain, sadly I have to have my left shoulder done in December, but at least I will have full movement and no pain in both shoulders and what a joy, I can't wait. The only down side is anti inflamatories for 6 weeks, eat lots of fibre 'cos they bung you up!! Good luck with the surgery - earlier is better than later because you cause more damage the longer you wait the more damag

  • fuck i get mine in november...

why diminish your life because of a shoulder? if they got surgery might as well try it..

  • I had torn labrum, torn rotator and subcromial decrommpresion. Fell hard on left shoulder in the mountans. 8 years of pain and I decided to have it fixed. Bone on bone-Ouch! Dr. Palutsis did an awesome job repairing my shoulder. He also did arthroscopic on both my knees. Feel great thanks to him!

  • I had it once and my shoulder is a strong as before i even dislocated it. After your surgery it hurts alot that night but many people have different pain tolerance so it depends how you react to pain. I barely took my meds cuz i could handle the pain. Rehab for this is hell tho i hated it. but it sure is worth it.

  • @MegaMarine10 im about to do this surgery too. Can you tell more about your rehab? How long did it take and what did you have to do? You dont have any more pains at all now, with your shoulder? Hope to hear from you soon. This whole operation thing is not making me very enthusiastic, but after 6 years of having a shoulder dislocating from time to time and having, im afraid i have no choice.

  • I am a teen age athlete and I am not sure whether to take the arthroscopic surgery due to chronic dislocations or to just do the rehab. I have had two opinions, one doctor strongly believes that surgery in someone of my age is not a good idea, and the other says that it is a very good idea to get it done at a young age. Does anybody know the true answer?

  • @longhorns1695 get it done man.. im 22 had the problem since 19 they said no surgery. i am very active and my shoulder kept popping out. since the surgery its been good so its better to do it.

  • @longhorns1695 I am in the same boat. What did you decide to do ?

  • i Have 3 Scars cus of dis op & it hurts like hell after it!

  • @amandaw72 How long were you in pain after the surgery, because I just had mine done Thursday

  • @AGRobinson1 I've been in pain now for 3 years!

  • @Tiels40 Oh My God! Are you serious? This is just my 4th day. How long do they make you wait before you can drive?

  • The most painless way to have this operation is on the Merivaara Practico Shoulder Arthroscopy operating table, the surgeon has better access and the operation takes a lot less time. Contact Europa Medical for details of your local hospital using the table +44 (0)845 658 4328

  • Tomorrow, 3/8, I'm getting arthroscopic surgery on my right shoulder to repair a torn labrum & bicep tendon. I'm a little nervous but after reading some comments I feel a little better. I know rehab is going to be the toughest part but I'm 100% committed.

  • I have Surgery tomorrow afternoon to repair some damaged left by dislocations

  • I just had mine done 3/2

the pain is allot, but i can handle it and i have the meds, i'm just relaxing and doing what i can to enjoy myself, music movies etc

  • @MegaMarine10 so how is u shoulder after surgery.. how pain it is now?

im hsving mine next week... for dislocations too im kinda of scare for rehab!! can u tell me how was u recuperation!!!

  • @patyplascencia

I just got a shoulder reconstruction on my left shoulder. Pain all depends on the individual

    .

I'm 19 and had torn all ligaments in a 270 arc completely from the labrum without knowing, and wrestled/played through all of highschool ignoring it when it would slip out and back in (constantly, every day)

    .

It's been about 3 weeks, and I have most of my range of motion back. I could drive after 2 weeks, probably could have earlier if I wanted

    .

Next shoulder in a month (same problem)

  • I had my surgery on Thurs.(2/11/10). Dr. Holt fixed four issues. A torn cuff, bone spur, decompression, and repair or attach part of a tendon. We also had a tear in the tricep tendon in the elbow, as shown from the second mri, but will try rehab for that, sense I have rest time. I got the pic sheet too. Wish my vid. was on here.

  • I had this surgery 2 and a half months ago and am already cleared to go back to the Track team :).

  • This is one reason why I can't be a doctor.........I won't be calm dong this

  • It´s a very good video for my Technical English classes.Thank you very much.

  • Hello, it's me again... My shoulder is getting better... Now i can feel this shoulder is really mine. :) Anyway pyhsiotherapy was so painful... I still have 5 seance.. I'm little scared actually when i read this comments.. Much people live this problem after they were operated... I hope i wont encounter this situation...

  • i had two of these surgeries in a 13 month period in 07 and 08...i have endured all the physical pain and sacrifice all of you are going through its harsh but youll get beter

  • i had this surgery three weeks ago. my shoulder is just stucked now i feel. i ll start to go physiotherapy tomorrow... i hope it will get better...

  • i had this operation this morning and my sutgeon said that my shoulder dislocated and came back in in the back so my surgeon said it was unusual

  • do they put u to sleep or just paralize the shoulder during the operation

  • I have this operation, week ago.I always have pain. How long it will be?When I can start working, what you thing? Janet

  • I had this surgery 8 weeks ago. My surgeon showed me pictures like this video has. If I didn't know better, this is my exact surgery. My rotator tendons were "pristine" as the surgeon says. My acromium had bone spurs and calcification. It was shaved like in the video.

My shoulder is getting better little by little. I'm looking forward to full strength and mobility!

  • Thank you. I was sent a stupid "NorthShoreConnect" cartoon about what I should expect in surgery and decided I didn't want to address my shoulder problems with them. This video made me realize there are better systems and better doctors to help me deal with my shoulder problems. So, thank you very much.

  • I had this surgery on Thursday at 6.30pm in Ormskirk. I was out of hospital by 12.00pm on Friday, I have only had to take a couple of painkillers before bed last night "just in case" Shoulder is a bit sore but not unduly so, Got fed up with the sling so only wear it when I go out to try to stop people bumping into me. Fed up being at home and can't wait to get back to work. Surgeon was Mr Sahni at Ormskirk in Lancashire.

  • What view are we seeing? Is this a posterior view of the right shoulder? That would be my guess based on my own anatomical knowledge. Why is such basic clarity elusive? People are so good at learning, but so bad at explaining. It shows that most of us care only for what we can acquire, not for what we can give. A bunch of half-humans who deserve to be eradicated is what we have become.

  • Just had this surgery yesterday and i feel great considering. I have no pain just feels a little uncormfortable at times. I'm out of the sling and I'm typing with both hands. Dont worry about this job, if you have the right surgeaon its a breeze. Mr Brownson in Liverpool seams to have done a great job on me. Good luck to anyone having this done.

  • im gonna have the same surgery as the video in 1 week UGH

  • i need it too ive never been through surgery please let me know how it went

  • diaf

  • i am very concerned , i have to have both shoulders done but i have to wait till my knee heals or have surgery don't know yet.right now my should hurt me more than the knee .i have to use crutches which makes it worse.

  • hey man i had both my knees done and its noo big deal trust me andd am only 18 > so trust me its nothing at all

  • your knees genetically fail.....you are fucked for life

  • i've dislocated my left shoulder twice and my doctor sed i mite have to get sugery...i still have to get a MRI..if i do get surgery is this the kind i will get??...i wana get ready for it so it all doesnt hit me so suddenly

  • I dislocated my right shoulder twice and I'll be having surgery in a few weeks. Since I see the comment is a bit old. Tell me, did you have it? If you did, tell me how did it go?

  • I am having surgery on the 25th of Feb, next week. I have been told it is for a shoulder impingement and maybe a rotator cuff repair. First time I have ever had proper surgery and this video has helped as I want to know as much as possible. Always been fascinated by surgical procedures but feels a bit odd now it's my turn.

  • i just got shoulder surgery yesterday my laybrum and rotater cuff was torn and i also had two bone spurs removed along with the end of my collar bone do to arthrites. i am 21 years old and play football for SFA they are saying i will be out for 5-6 months. that info may help a little bit codecaine

  • OMG HUMANS ARE WEIRD!! now I feel all like OMG!

at least is not the eye

  • any1 know of any other surgery i can get, had ac joint reconstruction and athroscpoic release and wen they opened me up cartlige damage was bad n now they dont know wot 2 do as im only 32 n shoulder replacement is out of question:(

  • Im having this surgery on monday, i have a Bankart lesion in my left shoulder, hoping to return to sports before the year is over, im a sophmore in highschool, the only thing im worried about is the after effects of the anesthesia

  • was wondering if anyone could tell me how long it takes to fully recover from arthroscopic shoulder surgery , just had mine on 10/16 and was wondering how long full recovery would take

  • hey, i got it done in april this year and i recovered in two months but i have on going problems so u might be quicker. but take it easy plenty of phsio:)

  • How much does it typically cost

  • i GOT SHOULDER SURGERY 7/1/08

  • what was wrong with your shoulder?

    hows the recovery going?

  • Very good explanation by a very considerate doctor. I've had FIVE shoulder surgeries from a few different Dr.s and have never seen a video or a picture of the inside of my shoulders. I wanted to - but - Somehow they "lost" the pictures (?) so I've never seen the real deal on mine. Having a shoulder scope is no big deal. I'll take that over open reductions anyday.

  • I am having shoulder shoulder due to impingement on 06/16. They want to put a pain buster pump in my shoulder for 2 days after surgery and I have not read anything positive about these. Anybody have this pump? I understand it can cause permanent pain in the shoulder.

  • Yes, I had this surgery 1/30/08 and I am not the same. E-mail me through YouTube if you'd like to discuss it...

    Jim

  • hey im thinking about getting this. Can somebody tell me how it helped them?

  • If you need it, get it, but depending on how bad the injury is, it will take a long time to completely recover from the surgery...

  • I have you really swing my arm like throwing a base ball for my shoulder to come up, or lift weights with shoulder movement. Besides that I does come out easy

  • well me i got it cose i kept dislocating it so i decided too take it and trust me its worht it after 6 weeks ull be out of ure slig and ull be do thing wats so ever whit ure arm

  • I had a shoulder injury after a bad rugby tackle 3 years ago. I had the surgery almost a week ago and am still in agony. I went to work today in my sling, even using a computer hurt like hell. I havent slept properly for the past 5 days. Its a big deal, make sure you definitely need it.

  • I just had this done Dec 23rd, 2008 and still having pain!!!! Went to PT therapy last week and they say everyone is different. The therapist says will take about 6-8 weeks before the pain goes away. But it will be worth it, as I was told my a Nurse who assisted with my out-patient surgery that she had "both" shoulders done/bone spurs and just takes time, everyone is different as far as pain and recovery. It will be worth it tho"!!! Debbie

  • I had a lambrum surgery done in my left shoulder for 2 years ago and I got a lot better, but not to my original state. It was a pretty big one they told me, they used 4 anchors. I had ro rehab for 6 motnts, and I don't recomend anything less than that. DON'T hurry the rehab. Tke the time. and it'll be good

  • I am going to have arthroscopic shoulder surgery. now i am kind of scared and thiking if realy should have it. it is for impingement, some calcium n the area and may be bursitis. who knows. I am having doubts cuz what if there are complications. at this time, i can work okay. only pain I have is discomfort and if I do exercise or say wash my car or sleep on that side of shoulder. Does some pain always remain after surgery. if so, should I just not have it & live w current pain level 3-4?

  • The longer you wait, the worse it will get. I'm actually going in TOMORROW, and I have no pain, but when I move my right arm outside of a certain range of motion it will just pop right out of socket. Hurts like a bitch. If you have calcium build up in the area it will really affect you later. Please, please get that fixed. Then no more chronic pain! How awesome will that be?

  • I had my surgery the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. I had severe bursitis, so bad that my surgeon wasn't able to see into the joint before the debridement. My injury happened as the result of a car accident I was involved in on 8/4/06. I went thru several rounds of PT and Chiro before electing to have surgery. Surgery was the best thing for me. Due to the severity of my injury, I'm still healing. But it is much better than it was presurgical. 5 surgeries on my left knee, walking/talking ortho.

  • I'm having this done 5/9. Thankfully, nothing is torn but I have a bone spur and a cyst right where the rotator cuff comes into the shoulder which is causing an impingement. The Doc wants to make sure that there isn't any detaching in that area. 2 cortisone shots and 4 months of PT haven't done anygood. Hope this will fix it. shelly

  • Hi there,

just curious how the surgery went? I 've had two rounds of p.t. dr. wants a third but i don't think my insurance will ok it. i have the impingment, cyst, fraying, he gave me four cortizone shots and hit a bone, it really hurts now.there's atype 2 SLAP tear and all kinds of stuff. any feedback would be helpful thanks

  • I had my surgery 2 days ago and so far so good. The thing that freaked me out most was my arm felt dead from the anestethia block.

  • Surgery in 4 weeks; PT helped but not enough I guess. Appreciated the voiceover, glad to know the burred surfaces will heal over with periosteum... those jagged edges gave me the heebee-jeebies. :-) Thanks again, very helpful.

  • Happened to me too, PT did not help. Surgery on January 30 2008, PT started 1 month after, now in 5th week at 50% of full ability. Hang in there, watch tape blister bandage after surgery.

  • I had impingement surgery on Feb 18, 08. It's been about 2 and a half weeks and all seems pretty normal. Some leftover discomfort but seems healing well. My Doc says to only use sling first couple of days. Prolonged use of sling can cause frozen shoulder. Not good. I put off surgery since August but am glad I did it finally. Couldn't even sleep on it for months. Do best to get full Range of Motion ASAP

  • just had mine done yesterday

  • Had mine done on Feb 8th, I worked out in the gym for the first time today. Was really weak in my left shoulder, but it felt really good to get it stretched out. I still have pain in the joint, but it's less than it was before surgery and it's getting better all the time. Wean yourself off the painkillers as soon as you can. I was addicted to Lortabs, took me forever to kick it...now all I take is Ibuprofen.

  • I had arthroscopic shoulder surgery about 3 weeks ago. How do I know when I'm doing too much with my left arm? It aches a lot, especially at night, but I don't wear the sling most of the time because it is so restrictive. I don't lift anything, and I don't raise the arm out to the side at all, but I can reach ahead about shoulder level. I'd like some advice from others who have been through this. TIA!

  • Hi! I had athroscopic shoulder surgery last august. It's pretty much all back to perfect today. My doctor told me to wear my sling all day and night for the first 4 weeks (which i did). I'd recommend you to wear it all the time and not to move your arm AT ALL! The cartillage that has been re-fixed can rip off very easily! If u want a good result, you have to wear the sling. . After 4 weeks you can take it off during the day. Wear it at nights for 4 more weeks. hope that helps.

  • What cartilage tear did you have? I have to have a 2nd surgery to repair a labrum tear. The first surgery was to remove bone spurs and repair rotator cuff. Doc thought I should have been fine, but after much complaining of pain, we did an arthogram. The tear was discovered. I maybe went back to work too soon (restaurant mgr.) and now I pay the price. Not looking forward to surgery, but am SO tired of being in pain 24/7. I'm afraid of going back to work too soon. Again. Damn work ethic!!

  • so, what did you have rot cuff tear or impingement? so, you have no pain when you sleep on that side of arm? what was reason of your injury to begin with?

  • I had surgery on my shoulder on 4/17/2007. I had a seperated shoulder and some torn ligaments. So i had part of my collar bone removed. Now I have to have surgery again because I have a bone spur tearing into my rotator cuff. Not much fun. These videos are so interesting. I love the medical field. I started school to become a MA and I am now going to become a respitory therapist. Much fun! LOve it!

  • I had surgery 9/14/07. I had a great 2 1/2 weeks at home. Wish I stayed off work longer to heal. I went back to doing my routine activity/functions. BIG MISTAKE!! Now I may be looking at a 2nd surgery. My advise - don't do too much too soon. The pros know best how to heal you - that's why you (and I) went in the first place. Don't end up like me - terrified that I have to go through this again. It's a successful surgery if the recovery is done properly.

  • I just went back to doc for post-op appointment after surgery 2 weeks ago. Doc has put me off for 4-6 more weeks for physical therapy and has said don't do too much too soon. If I went back after 2 1/2 weeks in my line of work, it would be no damned good. Moral of the story: Other than anesthesia, surgery wasn't too bad BUT follow doctor's orders and take the time to HEAL. Don't speed through it. Again, e-mail if you have any questions through YouTube and I'll try to fill you in. Thanks.

  • @JimReevesFan Hi , I would like to know how your shoulder is now, after 2 years of the operation. Im about to do the same surgery. Is your shoulder fully functional? You dont have any more pains?

  • Had mine January 30th. TWO stitched puncture wounds not giving me any problem, but some pain and decreased range of motion, plus watch out when the bandage comes off for tape blisters. I have one that is healing slowly. FIRST TIME surgery for me. Would not do it again only if necessary. Also watch out for anesthesia after effects. Nurses wanted me to eat; half of a turkey sandwich came up in barf bag on the way home. 2 1/2 days to get over effects. E-mail me if needed for more questions.

  • Got 1 of those tape blisters still healing from that. Range of motion was major issue but also healing well. Been 17 days. 3 punctures for me. Some bone removal. Good Luck

  • ouch. mine im having mine on monday the 11th. im scared stupid.

  • Im having this done Thursday. Not looking forward to it. I also have an impingement and alot of arthritis. How long was your recovery?

  • I had this done to me one week ago! They gave me photos to take home. But it was interesting to see what they did to me!

  • How did you do? I go tomorrow for the same procedure.

  • did you people see how the underside of the acromion causes all sorts of problems?

  • a good insight of what the ops is about.

I had mine done in the University Hospital in Kuala Lumpur by Doctor Yong CK. A well done job and recovering now. Need to do physiotheraphy to bring back the muscle.

  • THANK YOU!!! This veido really healped me. I needed a veido on a sholder surgury. Thank you.

  • i had a surgery on my right shoulder last spring and im getting my left done this winter

  • what kind of surgery have you made? arthroscopic? and isn't for bankart lesion?

  • so if u have surgery u can actually request it to be filmed? that is so sweet.

  • interesting.

  • when all the bubbles floated by me and my best friend at the same time started singing "Under the sea" from the little mermaid lol. thanks for the laugh and gross trueness lol.

  • Very enlightening video, thank you. if anyone is looking for more health video, including more procedures as well as real patient stories, please visit my channel. the "Vasectomy: No Scalpel" piece in particular is good. Not for the squeamish, however.

  • In shoulder arthroscopy operate through a few poke holes, and inflate the joint using saline solution. That rotating instrument you can see is called the "shaver". I know a ortho guy in California that does exclusively shoulder arthroscopy and is one of the best in the world, does three times many of these a year as anyone else. I couldn't imagine narrowing my focus in medicine as some of these surgeons do, but I guess there is a lot of joy in expertise and perfection.

  • interesting ..i love how its categorized in Howto&DIY lol

  • inflimation around the rotator joint? ouch... that had to hurt

  • what was the reason for the shoulder surgery?

  • lol this is categorized under howto&diy!!!

how to operate on your own shoulder

  • I am having this surgery done in a weeks time due to impingement!!! Very interesting.

  • Hi,

My doctor just told me I need this surgery. Would you mind telling me what kind of scar did it leave and how long did it take to recover? tks

  • Comment removed

  • And what if i do i

ll try it on my bro who i stole this account from

  • at a minute 25, its a bubble you can clearly see it,and they stopped the bleeding because in surgery the body quit moving the blood around, and that's not water, it's a fluid, and he is not in pain because he is under, there would be too much pain if they didn't knock him out.

  • AH at 1:25 it looks like theres an eye looking at you

  • quite clever really

  • what? did they replace his blood with water?

  • it's called synovial fluid. And the fluid they are putting in there is saline.

  • *im a orthopedic nurse in australia. very interesting, great commentry

  • how come there are bubbles??

  • i got this kind of surgery, so this is really cool to c!

  • they use a local anesthetic for his arm or that side of his body. I had my knee scoped twice but my doc wouldn't let me watch the surgery if i got a local. And i couldn't get the video of it either! I'm jealous of this guy... I wanted to see my surgery...

  • how was that guy not in intense pain?

  • he was def out when the surgery was going on, I bet this was going on long after the surgery and the doc was showing the patient what he had done...

  • fabulous ! Can some doctor start a series here? ACL knee, hip replacement, etc.? Thanks for this !

  • the doc is de-compressing the shoulder joint, looks like the bone on top of the shoulder is rubbing on the tendon and bursa below it!

  • Water is from the flushing of the tissues thru the arthroscope, that's to make the tissues fluff up so you can see them. You're looking at the shoulder joint!

  • That is pretty damn awesome!

  • wooooooooooooooooooooooow!!!

  • Awesome. This is incredibly fascinating. It's not bloody surgery at all. It's a great way to learn about what our shoulders look from the inside.

  • wat am i looking at here?

  • great vid...

  • This is so cool, so many people have to get this surgery done and it's nice to see it before hand. Very cool.

  • Wow is this inside someone? where does the water or the transparent liquid come from?

anyway, looks quite interesting, I'm juste sorry my english is not good enough nto understand what's said..

  • your english is fine
