He is using FinalCutPro FCP,using the ken burns effect with the motion.

as for the split screen its really easy. all you have to do is put a matte in the background or bottom of the timeline.then layer the footage above.decrease the size then position. the timing can be a pain. they have a muti cam setting if you shoot mutli positions. or you can be like me and match by sound. i am crazy though. i really dont know if he uses these.
