  • did you rotoscope the water droplet part in the beginning? Or was that completely hand drawn?

  • Awesome video man, I love to draw myself and this is inspiring stuff!

  • I am just about to begin my second year of Animation at Leeds University. I have to say your work is brilliant! The use of motion and perspective in this short is such an achievement. I really hope you have gone on to find work where your artistic talent is respected and admired. Truely inspirational.

  • @TheGareth111 Hey, wow thanks! Just graduated so fingers crossed everyone thinks like you....

  • @kumaraisin Good luck! :D

  • Wow! REALLY cool!

  • thx for answer... and can u ask me 1 more think how many frames did u use for 10 sec?

  • whAT PROGRAM DID U USE FOR THIS ANIMATION?

  • @MegaGnova I usED iMOVIE BUT WOULD RECOMMEND PREMIERE PRO IF YOU'RE MAKING AN ANIMATION. THANKS FOR WATCHING.

  • @kumaraisin vvery cool animation i realy like it...and i have a question: did u draw evry scene? if u did that thats take alot.... alot alot but its great

  • @MegaGnova I did draw out every scene but looped it for the rainy bit because it was taking aaaaages to draw that one out. When I made this animation I didn't know anything about the techniques involved, that's why I did everything the hard way. If I did it again then I reckon it wouldn't take as long as it did because I know a lot more about looping and compositing techniques I could use to save time. Thanks for watching MegaGnova.

  • I honestly wish it were longer. I know it took a long time to make all this, but I just wanted it to keep going. :P It was cool.

  • This is ridiculously good, you are so good at drawing. I did one that I uploaded on Friday and it took me ages and its not exactly the height of artistic - looking at this it looks like a child did mine ! haha. I have a question though, how do you get all the angles and ratios so good? like on the woman's body.. thats amazing

  • @stixwitch Hey there, I liked your animation, really lovely. To answer your question: I'm not good at drawing from my imagination so pretty much everything you see here I've drawn using some kind of photographic reference as a guide. For the woman I took photos of someone following the path that I wanted the 'camera' to take around her body, then I sort of planned the sequence out using stick figures on paper first to see if it looked okay, then I drew it out properly. Cheers for watching.

  • just wow......great one!

  • 5/5

  • wow appreciate the amount of work that went into that...especially the rain and everything, good job! i like it! :)

  • I've been meaning to do this for a while now, but i don't know HOW. I know you have to draw a scene with whatever, then take a picture and so on, but how do you keep the paper in the same place every time?

  • @Sazaho Type 'A4 layout pads' into google and you'll see what I used to draw out the animation (the paper is semi-transparent). So the paper is all lined up at the beginng within the pad and once I'd finished a sequence/shot, I'd tear the paper out of the pad and scan it in (you could use a camera but I think using a scanner is easier). Check out Don Hertzfeldt's animations to see proper old-school hand drawn animation that's actually shot with a camera. Cheers for the comment.

  • thats amazing. Do you draw each movement and join them together?how many drawings does it take?

  • @megascarp Yeah, for this animation I pretty much drew out every frame and put it together in iMovie. There are a few moments where I've looped a series of the same drawings but this was before I knew much about how to loop animations well so I did it the hard (and stupidly long) way and just drew it all out. I forget how many drawings it took... something like over 200, I think.

  • this is brilliant. Well done

  • 10!

  • There is so much detail.

  • Intro is so damn good.

  • almost like a super hero, it reminded me of a trailer.

  • this is amazing, i would love to do this but saddly i have ADD, i cant pay attention long enough to do a good one, great job, keep it up

  • @OurRedUprising Cheers for the comment, it certainly takes a lot of time and patience and looking back I'm not quite sure how I managed sit down at a desk for so long without getting distracted.

  • WOW very beautiful !!!

  • This was really great!

Going to give a try to drawn animation myself soon.

    This inspired me alot!

  • @19Sander62 Hey thanks, I enjoyed your stop-motions as well - hand drawn and stop-motion require a hell of a lot of patience, don't they? Good luck!

  • @kumaraisin: Thank you too!

They require alot of patience indeed, but the results is always worth it

  • @19Sander62 amen!

  • wow! nice! must have been a lot of work but a beautiful pay-off now it's finished :D

  • i admire you

  • this is beautiful

  • This vid is so epic! :) I love hand drawn animations and this one is really cool. I'm going to try it myself!!!

  • pretty cool stuff man. hand drawn is always amazing,, cheers

  • LOL AMAZING :D damn kwl with the water at start :D

  • Freaking amazing! I especially love the water drop/splash part at the start :)

  • great work of art and extremly unique

  • Take extremely out of that sentence and it would make sense. :P

  • I find it special, but i don't really understand the meaning?

  • I really like this one, the music goes perfect with it, with the exception of being blank at the end. Up to that point it is great!

  • do you want to know what I think? I think it is fraggin ridiculous that hand drawn animations like these get only 128 views. In my opinion any video with the tags hand, drawn, and animation in them should automatically be watched by all the artists on youtube. 5/5

  • I'm an artist, therefore I have watched and enjoyed, very inspirational

  • really really good!

  • i really like it

  • Mee too, my hobbit like friend.

  • this is one of my favorite vids on youtube! DAMN!

  • wow, thanks!

  • yo kumar i finally figured out the whole caontact thing... sweet animation dude.
