I am just about to begin my second year of Animation at Leeds University. I have to say your work is brilliant! The use of motion and perspective in this short is such an achievement. I really hope you have gone on to find work where your artistic talent is respected and admired. Truely inspirational.
@kumaraisin vvery cool animation i realy like it...and i have a question: did u draw evry scene? if u did that thats take alot.... alot alot but its great
@MegaGnova I did draw out every scene but looped it for the rainy bit because it was taking aaaaages to draw that one out. When I made this animation I didn't know anything about the techniques involved, that's why I did everything the hard way. If I did it again then I reckon it wouldn't take as long as it did because I know a lot more about looping and compositing techniques I could use to save time. Thanks for watching MegaGnova.
This is ridiculously good, you are so good at drawing. I did one that I uploaded on Friday and it took me ages and its not exactly the height of artistic - looking at this it looks like a child did mine ! haha. I have a question though, how do you get all the angles and ratios so good? like on the woman's body.. thats amazing
@stixwitch Hey there, I liked your animation, really lovely. To answer your question: I'm not good at drawing from my imagination so pretty much everything you see here I've drawn using some kind of photographic reference as a guide. For the woman I took photos of someone following the path that I wanted the 'camera' to take around her body, then I sort of planned the sequence out using stick figures on paper first to see if it looked okay, then I drew it out properly. Cheers for watching.
I've been meaning to do this for a while now, but i don't know HOW. I know you have to draw a scene with whatever, then take a picture and so on, but how do you keep the paper in the same place every time?
@Sazaho Type 'A4 layout pads' into google and you'll see what I used to draw out the animation (the paper is semi-transparent). So the paper is all lined up at the beginng within the pad and once I'd finished a sequence/shot, I'd tear the paper out of the pad and scan it in (you could use a camera but I think using a scanner is easier). Check out Don Hertzfeldt's animations to see proper old-school hand drawn animation that's actually shot with a camera. Cheers for the comment.
@megascarp Yeah, for this animation I pretty much drew out every frame and put it together in iMovie. There are a few moments where I've looped a series of the same drawings but this was before I knew much about how to loop animations well so I did it the hard (and stupidly long) way and just drew it all out. I forget how many drawings it took... something like over 200, I think.
@OurRedUprising Cheers for the comment, it certainly takes a lot of time and patience and looking back I'm not quite sure how I managed sit down at a desk for so long without getting distracted.
do you want to know what I think? I think it is fraggin ridiculous that hand drawn animations like these get only 128 views. In my opinion any video with the tags hand, drawn, and animation in them should automatically be watched by all the artists on youtube. 5/5
did you rotoscope the water droplet part in the beginning? Or was that completely hand drawn?

@19Sander62 Hey thanks, I enjoyed your stop-motions as well - hand drawn and stop-motion require a hell of a lot of patience, don't they? Good luck!
