  • Went 10 miles (by bicycle) to the next record shop only to buy this record in 1966 (was her first Nr.1 in the UK charts). So great.....

  • KING TONE!

  • 3 mics!!!!!!!!

  • Great song! All is well .... :)

  • 3 mics!!!!

  • @LewishamSunbeam to make Allan Clarke's vocals 3 times better of course!!.

  • I hope The Lord allows Tony Hicks to play that riff in Heaven. The angels will blush. Man, I wish these guys would get back together, cut an album, and take it on the road (to the States too). Nothing today can touch this pure sound. Barbra, this song is for us. My Darling and Eternal Love, Barbra -- you are still alive (in Heaven). Watch over me and wait for me until it's my time to be with you forever.

  • Glad the hollies have been introduced into the rock n roll hall of fame, long overdue

  • Hicks -- clean riffs; power with economy. He was a great artist who wasn't a show-off. Clarke -- pure soul. Pure Pop For Now People, as they say. This song goes out for you, My Darling and Eternal Soulmate, Barbra. I wasn't truly alive until I met you. Wait for me in Heaven, My Matchless Gem. I will love you Forever!

  • An unstoppable and superb trio of tenor voices with good looks.

Wow. Superstars in their own right.

  • I saw the Hollies at my high school in the spring of '68, front row seats right in front of Graham Nash. They had had a number of hits by that time and played them flawlessly, just like they had recorded them. When Hicks was introduced they said he was 17 or 18. Nash used an unmiked accoustic and broke a string and played on like nothing had happened. Great concert.

  • @53moreHP

  • I photographed the Hollies in 1977. To see the shots go to ianmarkmusicphotos (.com)

  • @MsMamesey Did you say cured? No way...I'll just keep coming back and suffering!!

  • @Poopaloo55 I have a unhealthy addiction to HOTT AEROBICS GIRLS DANCING IN THONGS. Type this in the next time your on YouTube and you will see why.

  • @stellastarr69 Umm...no thanks.

  • @smartass270 I too am 16 and altough I like them, they are nothing on Bowie, Beatles, Queen ect.

  • such great memories.

  • What an awesome tune-pay attention to how the drummer follows the Guitar at 1:20, and this guitarist is one of the best!

Then, at the end at 1:50, the drummer, again proves his abilities to follow the music like a computer! 1965! Too, much--

  • Here in the States, we were deprived of this one. This is now my favorite Hollies song. It never hit the airwaves here, (at least not here in the L.A. area). And I'm really upset.

    Why is that?

Can anyone give me an answer?

  • This is cool. I'm really liking all these obscure 60's groups.

  • @CavenEdwards Sorry, you can't say that the Hollies were ever obscure.

  • @BriDunc I guess it was a bit disrespectful of me to call them obscure. I guess I called them obscure in comparison to the world wide fame and adoration that the beatles and the rolling stones, and the kinks have received. I have been listening to them and its a bit befouling to me that they never became as huge as those groups even though they made such great music.

  • @CavenEdwards

They were not obscure in the day...I was there! What a blinding catalogue of great music they gave us, hit after hit :o)

  • @CavenEdwards They tied with the Beatles in terms of commercial success, but did not do enougn to give themselves more publicity. It was due to lack of an image, and the guys not doing enough interviews or being seen out and about London. They saw music as a regular job from which they clocked out at the end of the day and went home. They were also given a bum steer in being able to tour in the U.S. with visa rules.

  • I came back for the comfort of this one...like a great old friend....it makes me feel SO GOOD!!!! Allan...you're a charm!

  • Remember this like yesterday

  • Tony Hicks was a good lead guitarist. I wonder if Johnny Marr ever listened to him. They look a bit alike and have the same measured approach ti the guitar...

  • ♥

  • The Hollies ....special in their first formation time was sure one of my favourite groups.......

  • google Doe's Account

  • Any chance of Allan coming out of retirement? Wouldn't that be so awesome??

  • Tony Hicks plays a mean guitar.

  • Allan's awesome vocal range...those sexy low notes give me butterflies!

  • Adoro a los Hollies.

  • Tony Hicks was sooo under rated..some of the best riffs ever..

  • Clarke has such range. Great tenor. Come out of retirement, Allan!

  • @meteor901 The BEST!!

  • @meteor901 Agree...Great range...the low intro and then he hits those high chorus notes accurate and strong. That's what you call singing...no auto-tune in those days!

  • @meteor901 tenor???? Fiver more likely!

  • @meteor901 tenor?? fiver more likely.

  • @meteor901 it would be so wonderful if he would

sounded great at the hall of fame!poor Nash is touring and he sounded horrid

even if he won't sing wish he would bless us w/ his wonderful songwriting talents! cannot believe how overlooked this incredible artist is

  • love this, such a quality song still today,

  • Best band of the sixties by far !!! Allans voice was superb !!!

  • eeeee i love the song!

  • best song ever!

  • I honestly don't care for the music today. I love & enjoy the 60s music!!!! To me, it is awesome!!!!

  • the voice of Allan Clarke is so beautiful!

  • So young and still great always!!

  • @estelle715 and can still sing beautifully, despite their age.

  • Check out Graham Nash on rythym guitar...lol

  • Graham Nash is the finest bandleader in rock to this day, actually. He really broods over his colleagues like a father bird, and here he looks out for Tony Hicks, the baby of the Hollies, the way he does now for Stephen Stills (who is now partially deaf)

  • Right on! I lived it.

  • Im 15 years old and from germany...i hate the music today...)=

But i FUCKING LOVE the 6Oies!<333333333

  • @strunk12360

    dito

  • @strunk12360 Don't swear. It's not clever.

  • Man thats a packed audience!

  • also 16.. and i too love the music

  • lol I'm 16 and I love their music :)

  • @Saphirityful im 15 and i adore them!

  • @Saphirityful Thank you for giving me faith in your generation!

  • Why Does It Matter I'm 15, Since When Does Age effect Your Ability To Like Good Music

  • @Saphirityful who cares

  • Afterwards I found that she fancied the pants off of me!!!

Too late not to be shy!!!!!

  • I am 54!!!

I love this song, and when I was 10 I rode my "Moulton" bike {with reverse pedal brake) to where the "girl of my dreams" was sitting!

This song was on my new "transistor radio" and I played it so load it distorted the sound!!!

    When she walked towards me!!

I peddled off so fast that I couldnt be seen for dust!!

Thought she would laugh at me?

Wish I could turn back time!

Lorraine (my dream) died when she was 18 years old! Under a car!

  • Shit these guys were away ahead of their time,I am 40 and have loved and listened to these guys for 40 years and only today discovered they are from the 60's and not 70's <WOW.

Certainly one of the most uner rated bands of all time. How can so many nobodys get into the HALL and so much talent left out

  • I actually heard this on the radio this morning and almost drove off of the road. This is one that was seldom played but was still a hit. They had so many hits and how it took this long to get into the RRHOF is still mind boggling. Great music over and over again.

  • Congratulations Hollies on getting into the Rock and Roll hall of fame. Best band ever.

  • I love seeing Clarke smile :DD makes the whole song lively!

  • one of the top 5 groups of my youth along with Beatles, Stones, Shadows and ...Does anyone else see a trace of Ron Weasley in Tony Hicks (or vice versa)?

  • THAT....IT S MUSIC.

  • Cool, that is the version al rightThanks 4 posting :-)

  • one of the most influential bands of their era, and the harmony is so very beautiful, these guys will always be the best in my book.

  • @angie4josh : I agree !

  • "The Hollies"

Were the best years of my life!

Just waiting for the person to start it all over again!! ;-)

  • Hahaha xx

  • LMFAO XD

  • you obviously have no taste in real music, just a bunch of screaming, thats all you can appreciate no wonder the youth of today are such selfish peices of crap, its shameful that you even exist.

  • You like noise, not music. As for emotion and meaning, I am not sure youve lived quite long enough to even know what those things are. All your generation seems to know is how to feel sorry for themselves and that the world owes them a favour. Heres a tip for you, REPLY IN ANOTHER 20 YEARS, then I may be able to have a decent debate with you if you have learnt anything of value by then, and until then, stop listening to satanic music.

  • I dont agree with satanic music to begin with but w/e.

  • "THAT"

  • "that" what?

  • Blah blah...btw I still have my teeth.

  • thats good. I still got mine too.

  • @KoRnLPMaggot : Yes and maggots have teeth three !

  • have a nice day =]

  • that magic that is the Hollies!!

  • Yeah man the Hollies are BRUTAL. Possibly one of the heaviest bands i have ever heard. This song is crazy!

  • @KoRnLPMaggot This song has emotion and meaning. You're the guy talking like an asshole.

  • @sapphiretaurus your right, i am an asshole, and damn fucking proud of it.

  • @KoRnLPMaggot Of course you would be proud of that. Someone with a brain would not be.

  • @sapphiretaurus If your trying to offend me, you aren't doing a very good job. Get with the times, it isn't the 60s anymore.

  • @KoRnLPMaggot I'm not trying to offend you, I'm telling you off. Just because this isn't the sixites, that doesn't mean we can't listen to sixties music. There are a lot of young people that listen to it and like it, and if you can't understand that, that's your problem. You need to get with the times. If you don't like sixties music, why are you on here?

  • @sapphiretaurus Its a long story, why im on this video. I wrote that comment last summer. I just did it to be funny, i didn't mean to get anyone mad or anything.

  • @KoRnLPMaggot Even if you were trying to be funny, there are other ways to do so without posting a comment that will make people angry. We deal with enough people who really don't like the Hollies and sixties music in general. They make it a pastime to irritate folks on these videos. They don't know anything about the music or the era, and think it is stylish to bash music from past decades.

  • @sapphiretaurus I see where you are coming from, and i apologize.

  • @KoRnLPMaggot Thank you. I accept your apology.

  • @sapphiretaurus too right.. what a loser.

  • @KoRnLPMaggot The Hollies are way too heavy for me, sorry this music is like the heaviest shit i have ever heard.

  • A few things. 1. I love this kind of music. I am sick of these so called "artists" like kanye west, 50 cent etc releasing a new piece of crap song every other day. That is not real music. 2. Stop being so streotypical to my generation, especially when YOU are only 22. Like I said, I love this kind of music (The Letter, All Day and All of the Night, Wouldn't it be nice, etc.). 3. Its shameful that we even exist? A littler harsh, no?

  • @KoRnLPMaggot : Ye are being silly - willy !

  • @KoRnLPMaggot The only shit around here is you.

  • Definitely almost my fave Hollie song, so many great hits. King midas in reverse is also a fave.

  • Pretty soon bands will be selling their music directly to websites like youtube and cut out record companies. Sites will make money from advertisements and we'll get to listen to music for free...legally

  • Perfecto Mondo top notch song.

  • My heart is pounding.Period.

  • One of the best groups of the '60s. Congratulations on your induction into the RRHOF. It was long overdue! So many great songs and memories.

  • They gave the Beatles a lot of reconition

but in my eyes the Hollies were better they were brill!!!especially Allan Clarcke what a voice he had !!

  • They were one of the most popular groups of the British Invation and also one of my favorites at that time. The best time of my life.

  • Incredible the guitar, like a angel!!

Regards from Panama, Republic of Panama

  • reminds me of my dad -

    he bought this album

  • I was born 78, but you guys made me. :D

  • Terrific comment. Big thumbs up!!

  • be still my HEART!!!!!! ALLAN, VOICE OF A AN ANGEL.

  • Great vocals !!!! Thanks.

  • Отличная песня !!!

  • Who cares about France? Go Away.

  • Lmao, dick.

  • Guys listen to hawbster he's been to custer park with wild shit he knows what goes down!

  • great song, thanks for posting !! greetings from france !

  • Valderian was a bit impolite, and doesn't speak for everyone....I quite like France myself! You are welcome here rangvi.

  • this music is really good. i don't listen much to music from british invasion bands but believe that there were many good bands other than the overhyped beatles. and this is it.

and they just make me think of rem...

  • hey u should check out the muse from uk their are pretty good

  • There were many other bands out there than the Beatles. They were overhyped, but were talented and earned the genuine the praise they got..

  • Thanks for posting. Thank goodness that this music and this song in particular can be posted.

  • one of the most UNDERRATED BANDS BUT SIMPLY AN AWESOME BAND

  • @retrorex It doesn't sound like that. "Kiss" and "ears" don't sound alike.

  • I saw the Hollies in Bedford, in 1967, they were incredible live and would show many bands of today the way to go. Bobby Elliot is a fine , but underated drummer (to none musicians) his playing is rock solid, the vocal harmonies are superb.

  • The Lord of Voice thats Allan, eat this Eminem,50 cents,Justin and all other losers,THIS WAS MUSIC AND STILL IS 44 YEARS LATER

  • Great comment !!! I cudnt have said it better !!!you r so right !!!! Hollies rule even after all these yrs... and still going .. yeah ! ...Lyndloo..
