this is really good. i'm nt taking anything from you, but it also shows the 2 things i really really dislike when im watching a singapore side. the "we want goal" cheer and the "Butoh" jeer. It's like we are demanding the players to entertain us with a goal, and when they don't their given silence or groans and even worst, curses. i'll admit sometimes i get in on that B word but my point being, us the 12th lion can do SOO much better. nice vid, just doesnt show the right stuff for me.
I do agree the use of 'DEMAND' is too authoritative.
in fact many other words were considered like 'WISH', 'HOPE' etc..
however after intensive consideration, I still think 'DEMAND' is more appropriate to the context of the video and the intensity of the very moment the video was captured.
The war cry itself 'We WANT Goal' was absolute.
It's like a parent flashing a cane to his kid, 'demanding' their kid to study hard. But deep inside, whatever the result they still love the kid.
@cwangomango yup, it's always known that the B word is directed to the oppposition or ref. i didnt see it any other way. the day that fans direct it at their own players, that's when i will feel so ashamed that i'll never walk into a stadium anymore.
i accept your video as it is. just commenting on what i feel about the "fan support" in general. hopefully one day (and soon) it will all make sense. :)
@bulletpoint you comment is very insightful to me. because without it , I would never view it from another point. it'll gives more added dimension to view my video. surely next one will be better. I'm collecting more materials.. stay tuned!

@bulletpoint
First and foremost. thank you for your feedback.
You have actually pointed out my greatest fear of the release of this clip.
Before that, I like to explain my criteria and that is this video should never be politically correct and will be shown AS IT IS.
That is the only way to truly let the viewer experience the atmosphere 'from the stand'.

The last word 'SIMPLE' was chosen in that respect to soften the whole sentence.
However, irregardless different viewer will interpret the words differently. I'll come to this later.
The character in the video jeering 'Butoh' was not directed at the LionsXII.
To be fair to the character, it happen right after the penalty kick was taken by the opponents.
However the video did not depict who it was directed to , home team or away team.

My only explanation for your perception that it seem to direct at our own player was,
perhaps it was based on your own personal experience or with the section of your fans.
With that in mind. Not much editing can help to overcome that perception.
Yes the 12th can do 'SOO much better', but it was not done when I was filming.
As mentioned earlier, this is not a 'make nation feel good' or an educational video.
It is shown as it happen at Jalan Besar Stadium.

If I were to task to educate the 12th. I would have ban the 'Butoh' totally.
It doesn't make us anymore civilized than the Malaysian using the 'Singapore Anjing' chant.
But then again, this is the intense and passion of watching live at the stadium (from both home and away fans)
I would not have edit or censor it to make it anymore 'it should be…'
If I have the opportunity to capture home fans abusing our own players, fans scuffle with fans home or away.. I will.
