I think People get too hung up on the whole Genre thing, for gods sake, don't be a slave to one style is my motto. good is good be it House, Trance, Electro, Tech House, or Progressive. I love Trance but after 6 hours its nice to switch it up a little, if the style of your Dj sets varies then it keeps things interesting by creating a contrast.
