Informative. It should be noted that when a channel is shut down, YT shuts down ALL channels using the same email addy, so keep your email addresses separate for your various channels if you want to have one around for making an explanation video.

Let's face it, Skehan made many statements that were basically libelous in nature. He made direct and indirect accusations based on the thinest of pretenses. Throwing around the p-word just to get attention while pretending to be on some kind of holy crusade is exploitation and attention whoring at its worst.
Usually you'd get a warning first. Are you saying your account was killed without a warning? Good point about losing subscribers. That's a slow build up, and a closed account means most won't find you again.
It helps to be part of a network of collaborators. If I didn't know about 'willvideoforfood' and you were missing from YouTube, I'd be looking at Pipi and other of your collaborators for info, or even for one of them to post a video for you.
I was surprised how that happened when I hid my account a couple weeks ago. The grapevine is quick- I got a lot of e-mails and calls. But not everyone knows who knows who.

Good ideas. Helpful for those worried about losing all their hard work from over zealous You-Tube employees. Personally I think they should only restrict public access to your account and allow you take down / amend any offending videos rather than ban established uses such as yourself who are bona fide but might make a small error that infringes there agreement.
I'd guess that's the practice. If it's an account with lots of flags and issues, it's pulled down. If it's legit, they send some warning messages. I once got a phone call when I inadvertently put copyrighted music up.
When you're not being creepy, immature, or silly, you have such a likable face I could just reach into my monitor and pinch your cheeks. That would be oh once every 20 or 30 videos.

Nice to see this. Far too many people watch account suspensions and closings, maybe support campaigns to bring people back, but don't think what simple practical steps they would take if they lost their *own* account. Even down to the basics like having their own copies of their videos.
For smaller accounts, keeping a copy of the subscriber list or friends list can also be well worth doing.
The idea of having a pre-prepared video is also interesting, I'd looked into this for someone else. Useful so that a friend can prove they are the definitive source for info if the account holder is ill or whatever.
I'm not sure I'd encourage giving a friend the account password, though - I think there's far too much of that goes on already, and I'm sure it's led to at least some of the unexpected account closures.
Thanks for the advice, Kevin, especially the last part. I've grown fond of quite a few YouTubers and it would be nice to have their loved ones let us know if they get sick or worse so we're not left in limbo and we can pray for them, too.
It's only scary because no one knows why yet. Not even Skehan (as of the last time I spoke to him). At lest with a reason we can stay away from repeating that infraction ourselves.

I believe Casey 'the hurricane' and Hellion Exciter were banned for their vlog wars with other users. Mike is known for vlog wars.
Good tips, just make sure your other YT account is registered by a different email address. I believe YT suspends by the email address.

It helps to be part of a network of collaborators. If I didn't know about 'willvideoforfood' and you were missing from YouTube, I'd be looking at Pipi and other of your collaborators for info, or even for one of them to post a video for you.

I was surprised how that happened when I hid my account a couple weeks ago. The grapevine is quick- I got a lot of e-mails and calls. But not everyone knows who knows who.

Good ideas. Helpful for those worried about losing all their hard work from over zealous You-Tube employees. Personally I think they should only restrict public access to your account and allow you take down / amend any offending videos rather than ban established uses such as yourself who are bona fide but might make a small error that infringes there agreement.

I'd guess that's the practice. If it's an account with lots of flags and issues, it's pulled down. If it's legit, they send some warning messages. I once got a phone call when I inadvertently put copyrighted music up.

Nice to see this. Far too many people watch account suspensions and closings, maybe support campaigns to bring people back, but don't think what simple practical steps they would take if they lost their *own* account. Even down to the basics like having their own copies of their videos.
For smaller accounts, keeping a copy of the subscriber list or friends list can also be well worth doing.

The idea of having a pre-prepared video is also interesting, I'd looked into this for someone else. Useful so that a friend can prove they are the definitive source for info if the account holder is ill or whatever.
I'm not sure I'd encourage giving a friend the account password, though - I think there's far too much of that goes on already, and I'm sure it's led to at least some of the unexpected account closures.

Thanks for the advice, Kevin, especially the last part. I've grown fond of quite a few YouTubers and it would be nice to have their loved ones let us know if they get sick or worse so we're not left in limbo and we can pray for them, too.

Great vid Kevin.. Youtube should be able to delete accounts, but they should give you warning and a reason, two things they seem too miss doing. I thought it was funny you mentioned its a good idea to do your last will and youtube deleting accounts in the same video.. :)
