This is very similar, almost exactly like the Heifetzian tone. In fact, if I didn't know better, I'd swear that this is Heifetz. Obviously, Heifetz paid very close attention to Dinicu's technique & tone. This is one of YouTube's great treasures from a violinist's point of view.

It is Dinicu. He made a number of recordings for Columbia, many of which are currently available on a CD from Symposium. This particular track is not on that CD but was reissued by the Romanian Electrocord label on an LP in the 1980s
