  • This is probably my most favourite song of the mighty zep - it has great groove and links back to the roots of the blues with attitude got to love it, if you dig the blues and guitar.

  • whats the tunning? is it just drop d

  • @jeffbeck3563 The "tunning" is probably an open chord find the tonic and bobs your ulnce

  • @twexl Don't know the tuning for certain but it's a twelve string.

  • @sandersonguitars The tuning is open G

  • led zeppelin

  • subscribe to ledzeppelin611 for lessons on led zeppelin, black sabbath, and many other gods of rock on how to play there songs and on the theory and style behind there songs like the folk and blues behind led zeppelin and where the heavy black sabbath sound came from in the awesome web show ROCK 101 which you should subscibe to that also cuz that is were the anual show will be on

  • your all wrong the were inspired by american black blues like robert johnson, blind dog wilie, and so many other

yes elvis was a part of the insiration but most of it like jimmys soloin came from old blues and robert plant was a big fan of folk music which mad its way into songs like the battle of evermore and gallows pole

jimmys soloing was based upon the pentatonic and blues scales (yes there a difference, subscribe and i will soon put out videos on guitar lessons like blues and rock) rock on

  • Robert Johnson!

  • @rko123jja

Similiar here as well: TR-7 Triumph with a cig rolling down I-10 with the top down. Ah the memories...

  • @rko123jja i did that a while ago except it was on a motorcycle

  • one of their best and most least played songs!!

  • one of their best and most under played songs!!

  • zeppelin kicks ass but the beatles paved the way

  • @harrison4337 hahahaha no elvis did! they were inspire by elvis...every zeppelin fan knows that!

  • @ledzeppelin4304 elvis paved the way for the beatles not talking about inspiration if not for elvis there would not be early rock if not for beatles there would be no pop/hard rock since the beatles covered so many aspects of rock and with out zeppelin no hardrock/metal/popularrock its almost generational i love zeppelin and the beatles no insult to either

  • @harrison4337 idk what u said but im just saying zeppelin wasent inspire by the beatles......

  • @harrison4337 That's true but the Led Zep took it to "A Whole. Nutha'. Level.".

  • Dean Winchesters favorite song:)

  • @MissKaraPaige2 "It's a tie, this one and "Rumble on" ;)

  • Searched this clip for the lady @ 3.09. Has that footage been released anywhere else?

  • like it or not, being hippy or a punk....they are the greatest. basta.

  • i love the way they showed the original song by having it blues'd up in it's sped up version, then showing how rock n' roll was created by slowing it down and making it funkier.

  • Most certainly one of Led Zeppelins greatest little known songs. It's so funky and bluesy, which is my favorite part of Led Zeppelin.

  • God Bless Zeppelin and the Late great John Bohnam

  • Perfect song ... cannot stop hearing that one ... and this lasts for more than 20 years ...

  • Best Band Ever!!!!

  • 7 people have ear infections!

  • Man I fucking LOVE this song!

  • This is a great promo, but such a tease With all the unreleased footage! :(

  • LZ brightens any dull boring day for me. I loved their music for decades and still loving like first time. Whoever says something negative about them can go fuck himself. Period.

  • ruthless muddysharky

  • How I wish I was that old woman playing with Robert's hair. HOW I WISH I WAS HER!!

  • Not too many could sing like Plant. Not even the old black guys who originated blues music.

  • Yeah i`m sure Roberet Plant`s a much better singer than johnny rotten. Rotten can`t even sing

  • you folks do know the Zeppelin ripped this off right (along with most of there songs ) Robert Johnson wrote this not page and plant

  • @PavaoPaul This song was recorded in 1969. If you look at ANY artist between 1950-1970ish you will see they took inspiration from bluesman, as there was nowhere to take inspiration except from them. Zeppelin themself have stated that this was a cover, they never took credit for the lyrics or original.

  • @PavaoPaul unlike some other songs, i don't think page ever tried to claim this was a zep original. plant always felt like crediting the originals, but page didn't, and page was in charge in those days. it was his band. because page felt that they were changing the originals enough to make them their own, and also many others had convered those old blues songs already.

  • @PavaoPaul For one thing, it's not a "rip off" when it's a cover and it's properly attributed to the original artist. Secondly, it's not a straight cover, but was designed as more of a tribute in that it quotes from several of his songs. Now go complain about The Beatles stealing riffs, or Jeff Beck, or even Beethoven.

  • rotten=his, their, oui what?-point rebellion

zep rocks he knew, butt by neccesity 4 clarity--

    piss off!

  • I was just watching a documentary about punk music and Johny Rotten from the Sex Pistols said Led Zeppelin were shit and they had no talent. Well Mr Rotten I'm watching travelling riverside blues, not Anarchy in the UK.

  • 3 people Son of a Bitch

  • obviously 2 fux are brain dead

  • You get the intro vid from discovery

  • MOST EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • He does it a couple of times in the song through out, but the parts where it is obvious is at 2:50 and 3:41. John Bonham plays these little double bass tacit fills that totally elevate the song.

  • i wish robert plant would agree to tour with led zepp

  • simply great :)

  • I liked Coda...

  • 2 people are completely tone def and ain´t got no class!!

  • Thumbs up 'cause this is one of Dean Winchester favorite song!

  • Great vid if you have a very short attention span. :)

  • 2 people should be drowned in mississipi river

  • Whats the deal with the Elephant finger dude at 3:30 ? It never fails to disturb me!!!!!

  • @stx377 Just looks like a dude with big hands. Not too uncommon with those old blues players, or guitarists in general. Marshall Chess said when he shook hands with Howlin' Wolf it was like putting his hand in a baseball mitt...and hell, even Jimmy has pretty big hands, if you've ever noticed. Anyway, if you like this song, you should check out "Underground," by Rosetta West. It's really raw and dark slide guitar blues.

  • @stx377 I just put that song up on Youtube by the way.

  • how does this not have 999999999999 views! this song is amazing, one of the great underated zep songs

  • THE TWO MOTHER f***** WHO DISLIKED THIS SHOULD END THEIR LIVES RIGHT NOW!!

  • @williegt500 .......yeah.......

  • @williegt500 Make that nine.

  • The Gods of Rock at their finest peak!

  • I agree 100%. Simply the Gods of Rock.

  • robert johnson forever !

  • The words to this song are so all mixed up! No wonder the traditionalists cringed at Zep's interpretation! But the beauty of a well crafted song is that it can be be interpreted in many different ways. That's why Robert Johnson is still one of music's most enduring songwriters and influences. If you want to hear a modern rendition of Robert Johnson's tune, played faithfully, listen to Rory Block's version off her "The Lady and Mr. Johnson" CD.

  • this song is very very good

  • God Jonh Bohnam was and still is in my opinion the best drummer this world has produced so far R.I.P due, u rocked!!!

  • Yes zeppelin were heavily influenced by American r%b JPJ and bonham were anyway. JPJ was first call session guy to anything in england that needed a motown sounding groove before they formed. And this tune is funky as hell, if you cant hear that then you got no rhythm.

  • 3:20 to 3:27 after listning to this song i do

  • Music professor doubted Zeppelin was influenced by funk & Motown. To me this song is funky as SHIT. I should be teaching that class.

  • @RikJamezBich This is pure blues-rock. An interpretation of the 1937 song, with rock added. Motown sounds way different.

  • @FfCompHelpfF Blues beats normally consist of shuffles or grooves that are more or less straight ahead. One of the most significant contributions that was introduced with Motown and funky soul in general, was some of the accents and beats were more syncopated. Bonham was an enthusiast of this music (look it up if I don't seem the worthy source). The Lemon Song is a lot different than You Shook Me for instance. The Crunge is the most obvious example but it is a B side I don't hear often.

  • AMAZING music...good footage of Bonzo, and Jimmy looks pretty high at 1:24.

  • 0:28 what was that vid

  • @guitargod91000 It's from The Song Remains The Same movie....During the 29 minute version of Dazed and Confuzed.

Jimmy does some pretty cool shit

  • @DMB206 thank you

  • @guitargod91000 Anytime my brotha

  • OMFG! 666 thumbs up! AWESOME!

  • I'm the 666th like. \m/

  • i wish this song could keep playing non stop and never f-ing end

  • The best band!!!! Singular version!! Singular Promo!! I Feel so happy when i listen this song!! I Dont belive that will born a band like Led Zepellin someday, Zepellin is only one!!!

  • Delta Blues trubute

  • I wish I knew what Robert was talking about from 3:04 to 3:05

  • this makes me wanna walk on a railroad track and play a steel guitar with a slide

  • This just makes me so happy! Wish there was actual concert footage of this song...?

  • This should be "Shelby" the Swampman's Theme song!
