Hey mate, I've got two questions: 1, what hexaphonic pickup are you using? and 2. is it possible to play chords? I mean, would the ax50 send the signal to the vst if you play more than one string at a time?

Io ho comprato un AXON AX 50, ed è una ciofegata. Se si possiedono altri hardware che utilizzano porte midi creerà un monte di problemi per le interazioni: io non posso usare nessun controller di logic finché non spengo l'Axon. E' stato prodotto con un difetto elettrico che nella maggior parte dei casi comporta un orribile rumore nell'out del suono naturale della chitarra. Inoltre NON ESISTE un supporto tecnico da parte di quei beoti della Axon...

Lo sconsiglio nel modo più assoluto.

per il midi non ho avuto problemi ho utilizzato un VST host con differenti moduli (VST appunto) quindi nessun cavo che scodinzola.

Vero per il problema elettrico ma manco una volta ho pensato di far passare l'uscita della chitarra nel cavo 13pin.

Fortunatamente non ho mai dovuto chiamare il supporto tecnico.

Conclusione : non è tanto una ciofega ma portarsi appresso laptop + scheda suono usb + axon + pedaliera midi ecc ... una rottura

Ecco perché sono passato al GR-55 :)))

@GiovanniGuitar Ciao Giovanni, l'axon ax50 al tempo della sua uscita è stato lodato da tanti, per le sue potenzialità, ma dopo pochi mesi ci si è resi conto dei difetti e degli errori di costruzione. Tanti utenti sono rimasti delusi, e quanto mai incavolati alle risposte dal supporto tecnico Axon, che ha ignorato ogni richiesta, addirittura permettendosi di chiedere pareri tecnici agli utenti stessi... Riguardo al midi intendevo le interazioni dei segnali di controllo (pedali d'espressione etc)

@giannicipullo Ciao Gianni, scusami il ritardo per la risposta. L'Axon ax 50 non ha suoni interni. Quello che senti nel video provengono da vari VST installati sul computer. Purtroppo l'axon ax 50 é fuori produzione (troverai spesso il termine miscontinued). Tra l'altro 2 mesi fa ho comprato il roland gr-55 con suoni interni, levandomi l'obbligo di portarmi un PC quando suono. Spero che la risposta ti soddisfi. Non esitare a chiedere ancora (risponderò con meno ritardo :p ) Ciao

It sounds like there is some latency? Is this correct? Do you feel there is a problem with latency?

@rubberfacerecords That's right. There's a little latency due to many parameters (SW, asio drivers, attack in chosen sound etc.). Of course it's not a problem until a certain speed but if I want to solo on OLEO on more than 200 I forgot MIDI and I get back to "normal" guitar ;)

PS Little secret: with slower sound I tend to anticipate. This means that I play before (a lot ;) the beat.

@GiovanniGuitar ciao giovanni, una domanda.. ho un axon ax 100 mkII. sto usando i suoni esterni tipo reason. ma la latenza che riesco ad ottenere è pari a 7 ms che pero devo aggiungere ai 13ms dell'axon. adesso ho comprato degli expander. quanta latenza mi daranno questi expander?

@GiovanniGuitar un altra domanda: noto che per suonare bene l'axon, al contrario della ma tecnica, devi stringere forte il plettro, e dare pennate decise "il plettro deve essere sempre teso e seguire il movimento esatto del polso", al contrario di come suono io, pennata tenuta leggera, plettro che sfiora dolcemente le corde, ho molti problemi di tracking. ad esempio se suono accordi ritmici conla mia tecnia normale, ho unpessimo tracking, mentre con pennate decise suona meglio.ti risulta?

@ersemola non direi anche perché uso moltissimo il legato e qualche volta anche un (pseudo :) sweep. E anche vero che ho tendenza ad alzare molto la sensibilità e (si ritorna sempre al punto di partenza ^l^) cerco sempre di suonare pulito. Per gli accordi ritmici uso solo le dita perché col plettro il risultato è scarso.

That latency you hear here is the sound patch and not the system !

1:50 here you could hear that it is the actual sampling that is the problem !

You can even play drums on the low E string so latency is not a problem if the guitar and HEX mic is set up properly !

...comunque ti chiedo un consiglio su un set-up ideale per un utilizzo abbastanza immediato del tipo voglio un bel suono di organo, o sitar o tromba o shamisen etc.., con ottimo tracking anche per il ive oltre che per registrare un disco in home studio , senza necessità di smanettare troppo, faccio jazz e world music...meglio pick up esterno o chirra midi 8se si , godin, carvin o altre, meglio vst o modulo con suoni tipo ax 100, etc... Andiamo nell'ordine :

1) utilizzo abbastanza immediato

dipende dal tuo modo di suonare ma in tutti casi c'è un tempo di apprendimento per poterlo controllare. Certi riflessi automatici da chitarrista (ghost notes, suoni sporchi, corde a vuoto ecc) sono completamente da cancellare.

Da premettere che ho l'Axon 50 che non ha suoni interni ... ma se vuoi ottenere i migliori suoni devi partire su dei VST esterni con lo svantaggio "estremo" di portarti un PC con te

Mi sto informando per passare al mondo della chitarra synth e devo dire che il mio modo di suonare e di intendere lo strumento è simile al tuo, corde, grosse, action bass, fraseggio veloce e ritmico...quindi mi interessa molto la velocità e precisione del tracking e la qulaità dei suoni, ho preso da poco un mac ma non mi intendo di plugin, vst...pensavo al roland gr20 per la praticità dei suoni per il live ma mi sembrano peggio dei vst.

AX 50 has no internal sound. You need an external expander (via MIDI) or VSTs on a computer (via USB).

e riguardo la latenza hai già scritto che un po' si sente ma volevo sapere se,suonando in un gruppo (quindi live) ci sarebbero problemi? (nel senso se è facile perdere il tempo)

Ciao @Andy8329, esatto in effetti lo puoi collegare ad un expander via MIDI previo settaggio o via USB ad computer con 4 canali MIDI simulati (multistring ecc).

Per la latenza di sicuro non suono assoli su OLEO a 270, ma in live non mi da problemi. Se ti capita l'occasione cerca di provarne uno.

It has a 13-pin input. You need an hexaphonic pick-up on your guitar linked to the axon. Then the axon is linked to a PC via USB or an expander via MIDI. Personally I have my axon linked to a PC with some VSTs.

non ti nascondo che la latenza c'è anche se in parte dipende dal suono che utilizzi. Tutto sommato si può utilizzare (e lo faccio) in situazioni live anche se per qualche suono ci aggiungo quello della chitarra.

no, you need either the special hex pickup, made by Axon or roland (GK-1), or one of the internal hexpander/piezo setups from either RMC or Graph Tech...your guira actually needs to have a 13 pin output, not your normal guitar jack output.

Yes there are some false triggers but it depends from your way of playing. Play the most clean as possible ... just forget ghost notes (and I use a lot x) )

Ax 50 is really good but I use especially in live situation.

Hey! I like your Metheney sound! I also got the AX50 but can't get the pitchbend to work. Pitchbend range is switched on, Quantize is on auto or on, stringmode is common or seperate. Any Idea? Cheers, Pat

As I wrote this is my conf : Stringmode : separate Holdmode : sustain Quantize : Auto Velocity : Offset 0, Sensitivity 112

In stringmode separate I load the same VST six times (just apply a MIDI filter to receive only a channel for each VST)

I have a solidbody made by a luthier and I use some VSTs to add effects.

Pick-ups come from a 70's Gibson SG and th Axon PU 100.

I use .13 flatwound strings with a very low action and heavy pick 1.2 mm

.... and ....

of course, I try to be very clean when I play (I say I try ;-)

secondo me piu che sul fraseggio queste pazzielle sono belle per i pad e cose meno veloci....u sacc che vuo fa pat ...poi sgarea molto sulla divisione della tastiera ...questo giocattolo puo' suddividere la tastiera e suona una cosa dal primo al sesto etc

Solo per pad, ma staje pazzianne? Hai visto come segue, con il mio vecchio Roland non ci pensavo neanche lontanamente, e anche sugli arpeggi.

Questo giocattolo può fare anche il caffé ma immagina:

ogni corda parte su un canale differente con il prorio VST associato gestito con un VST host ce confluiscono in un altro VST per la gestione degli effetti. Se divido la tastiere in orizz. vertic. obliquo immagina la gestione .... cose 'e pazz. xo
