Hi,I've successfully installed Lion 3 weeks ago but today after a power failure my system won't boot anymore, it gets stuck at a line saying something like UUID error , strange thing is it would boot from SATA 3 port but not SATA 6, another thing is in the bios setup in Boot Device Priority, My HDD: WDC WD1002F has changed to IDE: WDC WD1002F when i'm using SATA 6!

I'm using AHCI in storage configuration but have no clue why it says IDE!

@iaasem HP's are kind of a bitch to install OS X... They might start the setup installation process but freeze or suddenly restart during installation making it impossible to finish installing... and if you do succeed you will find yourself scratching your head of why the post-installations don't make your pc boot up! ... u can sure try a several boot loaders and lots of reading methods.

i have a VAIO EB series core i3 350m, hm55, ati 5650m. I followed ur tutorial but I only get a black screen before the GUI is shown where we have to select the installation USB. Any ideas? I made the iBoot USB with Windows 7. The computer is non responsive, the two usbs load for a moment but then it just sits on that black screen without any activity. I tried it without the installation (8GB) USB but got the same black screen, i think there is a problem with my iBoot USB. What do you say?

@farighlarka When booting with iBoot type "mach_kernel" without quotes first and then click the Enter key and see if that forces to use the vanilla kernel Lion to proceed with booting into it.

@LALOMAN18 The usb drives load for a bit, i can tell it from their blinking lights but thats about it, they stop and nothing is shown. When i pop them in first the VAIO screen is shown then for a small while an indicator comes out on top which suggests that something is loading but then i get to the black screen, then nothing.

@farighlarka Then try burning the boot loader on a CD to make it bootable... I use CD boot loaders, never tried USB... Go to Kexts(.)com and try all the bootloaders there and with luck you'll find one that works for your laptop or desktop as well...
