  • and i actually did an mma class before im not trying to be bias but compare it to a different sport

  • the argument that football causes more injuries is invalid theres more injuries in football because simply there is more players ive been playing football since i was 5 (im 16 now) the worst injury ive ever had was a swollen ankle and my objective was never to hurt any kid although if i did im not gonna lie it felt good unless if i broke a bone etc. but id never go in and before a play say "im gonna hurt this kid" now with that said i love mma but comparing it to football is a stupid argument

  • ok I played football for almost 20 years, I saw and experienced many injuries, we played fair and helped the other player up after the play, we were concerned when anyone got hurt no matter what team he played on, you sir know nothing of sportsmenship if you had intent to hurt kids when you played, you were a horrible coach if you had players wanting to cause serious injury to the other players, these are kids and with that said they are clay in the coaches hands, bad coaches will make bad kids

  • Parents who are appalled by kids MMA but think football is fine don't really know the full story.

Thousands of kids get brain trauma (concussions, etc) in football every year, usually from helmet to helmet contact.

Boxing is worse, where the goal is to inflict brain trauma on your opponent.

MMA is bad but not as bad as boxing...in MMA you can clinch--if you clinch in boxing, you're separated to allow for maximum brain damage...also in MMA you can submit when you're in a bad way, not in boxing

  • why does it say mma in the title?

  • ESPN, Sean Hannity, & numerous other Liberal & Conservative whackos throughout the world were attacking our league and my kid specifically. They say that Youth Football is safer than MMA. One of their arguments is that Football players wear pads. In fact studies show that the rate of injury for football is at or near the top. Pads contribute to injury.

to add, Headgear in boxing is to reduce cuts, not concussive force. The mass of boxing gloves adds force to the strike. Newton says F=MA

  • i don't think though in football your goal in the game is to "knockout" or "chokeout" your opponent.

  • You haven't played football.

  • @witegetobro

    choke out now

but they deliberately try to take the other person out

even in to the point to where they cant play anymore

there is way more respect in professional MMA than the NFL

  • @pankrasekid You've clearly never boxed... Let me hit you with a 6oz, then 14oz then bare-knuckle... I'm guessing after all of those, someone asks you what you'd have again if you had to pick one, you're leaning toward the 14 ouncer. Go try it out and come back a little more eduacted. I boxed from the time I was 13 till I was 20. There's a big difference. The less of a glove the more it hurts. And headgear is only to reduce cuts??? Are you serious??? That's what the vaseline's for.

  • Did you play football?

I played and coached football for over 10 years. That's no accident.

One object of the game is to injure your opponent. The team watched and cheered this play in the film room.

  • @pankrasekid No one wants to see a child get hurt. I played football all through my childhood. Sure you want 2hit the other person as hard as you can but you don't want to seriously hurt them. I perform in MMA as well, and I've been doing it competitively since I was 13. To be honest I broke my arm in football and had a concussion twice my whole time playing. In MMA I've gotten 8 concussions, broken my arm, chattered all of my nuckles, & there's more but to be honest MMA, is much more dangerous.

  • What's ridiculous is the fantasy world you choose to live in. Back your opinion up with DATA (youth sports injury data is tracked, compiled and readily available) and you might have some credibility. If you took the time to actually research the topic you would have an informed opinion. Go do your homework..

  • Deaths in Younth Football NOT including HS Football 765!!

Deaths in MMA ages ranging from 6 yrs old - 19 yrs old 1

    1.. IN THAILAND!!

  • @MikeyBear2009 That's so inaccurate... There are literally THOUSANDS more youths playing football than actively practicing MMA. Look at injuries per 100 athletes, not an overall number without showing in comparison the ratio of injured to non injured...

  • i agree.

  • thats fuckin stupid, kids should not be doing that

  • There's a special place in hell for the parents of these children.

  • This shouldn't even me legal.

Not only are these kids going to grow up to be brain damaged, but they're going to take bullying to a whole new level.

  • This is disturbing, sick and animalistic

  • Nice post man. I took a look at youth sports injury & mortality rates the other day and was amazed to see how many kids have been KILLED in sports like Basketball, Football CHEERLEADING, Baseball...

It seems to me that most of the people that post with such strong reactions to kids in events like the SocalPankration league are either; Uninformed - they haven't looked at the rules or Unrealistic - they really don't think kids should compete in contact sports.

  • Thanks.

I coached little kid football for many years. On average, there was one injury requiring doctor's attention (not just a trainer) PER WEEK. The broken bones, concussions, joint damage was prolific. That clip is from my team's game.

I do not tell my kid to participate in MMA, skateboarding, motocross, or football. He chooses to. I thoroughly remind him of the risks. He has been told that with 1 concussion, he's off that sport.

Our Philosophy: "What others do IS NONE OF MY BUSINESS."

  • TWO WORDS..... CHILD ABUSE!!!

The parents should be ashamed. These kids won't grow up to be strong they will all be half retarded from getting hit in the head too many times! It will be illegal soon anyway!!

  • Disgusting. They're kids. They don't even know how to control most of their moves either - you see kids getting dropped on their heads constantly. It's a wonder kids aren't having their necks broken all the time from crap like this.

  • crap this is so freaking bad wtf

  • only serves parents psychological hunger for violence!Contact sports NEEDS RULES!

  • This is fucking sick.

You must be proud parents. I hope you enjoy visiting your kids in prison. They are off to a good start.

  • Horrible!

    Contact sports NEEDS RULES!

  • you are a complete idiot and so unbelievably irresponsible it makes me want to spit.

  • OMG these kids are brutal

  • how dare they compare football with MMA.

  • This is barbaric.

  • this is rediculous
