  • "The All American Back Jumper" Bob Roop. I had the chance to talk to him after he retired. Heck of a nice guy.

  • I really miss Gordon Solie

  • I agree that Bob Roop is underrated.

  • He must be, he's carrying Lawler into a good match here.

  • Lawler may have had limited skills in the ring, as some suggest, but he had incredible personality, sex appeal, a talent for talking Sh** in interviews to get the crowd pumped and ready for his next ring appearance. NWA knew exactly what they were doing with Lawler, and he did it well for them.

  • Lawler never impressed me as a wrestler, his wrestling skills were limited. I enjoyed watching wrestlers who really knew how to wrestler, and Lawler was / is not one of them..

  • he never admitted to being the best, he knew he wasn't. hulk hogan thinks he's the best, but he's got less moves than lawler.

  • Good match. I will always feel that Bob Roop was very underated during his career, though.

  • Like Magnum, T.A., Roop's career ended in an automobile accident. Same with Steve Travis.

  • It's always great to hear from the kids whose awareness of pro wrestling starts and ends with Hogan, Stone Cold or the Rock. Don't know nothin' about nothin'. Roop was a championship winning amateur and a damn fine pro. An inductee to the International Wrestling Hall of Fame, a place for both amateur and pros. But since there's no catch phrases or a "Diva" on his arm, you don't know shit.

    Good post, junior.

  • Does anyone have a film of Jerry Lawler wrestling Superstar Graham?
