Lawler may have had limited skills in the ring, as some suggest, but he had incredible personality, sex appeal, a talent for talking Sh** in interviews to get the crowd pumped and ready for his next ring appearance. NWA knew exactly what they were doing with Lawler, and he did it well for them.
Lawler never impressed me as a wrestler, his wrestling skills were limited. I enjoyed watching wrestlers who really knew how to wrestler, and Lawler was / is not one of them..
It's always great to hear from the kids whose awareness of pro wrestling starts and ends with Hogan, Stone Cold or the Rock. Don't know nothin' about nothin'. Roop was a championship winning amateur and a damn fine pro. An inductee to the International Wrestling Hall of Fame, a place for both amateur and pros. But since there's no catch phrases or a "Diva" on his arm, you don't know shit.
"The All American Back Jumper" Bob Roop. I had the chance to talk to him after he retired. Heck of a nice guy.

he never admitted to being the best, he knew he wasn't. hulk hogan thinks he's the best, but he's got less moves than lawler.

Good match. I will always feel that Bob Roop was very underated during his career, though.

Like Magnum, T.A., Roop's career ended in an automobile accident. Same with Steve Travis.
