i disagree with this. i think the point of the movie was, not to disprove stereotypes, but to show how racism persists in the world. yes there are people like ludicrus' character, but there is also terrance howard's character who was successful, and don cheade's character who worked his butt off to make something of himself. it isn't meant to offer solutions, but to make the audience re-examine how they deal with people

but yes there wasn't sufficient representation of asians in this.

The problem I have with Crash is that it seems like the movie focuses more on making you feel good by the end of it than actually introducing politics because it doesn't go as deep into the discussion of race as it should.

Like it addresses that everyone is racist, but it completely ignores the fact that racism affects everyone equally (which it DOESN'T). It gives the illusion that everyone's in the same boat.

Certainly it's beautifully executed, but there are definitely some flaws.

um from what I remember of this film, it's meant to show how actions of people affect other people. also I think it shows SHIT HAPPENS. People are racist. Some hate blacks. Some hate whites. Some hate asians. they arent trying to provide a solution, the idea is to make the audience critically read the text. they are providing us with these stereotypes so that we examine how racism exists and how it affects us, giving us the opportunity to create change. a film cant tell you how to fix a social problem such as racism, it can provide insight to the viewers as to why it is something that should be dealt with. obviously the film achieved its goal considering it pissed you off enough to make this video.

It is not a reflection on him because of his race but as a character who is reacting as any HUMAN would. Asians always get shafted in American made movies. Even the stars like Jackie Chan and Jet Li are relegated to playing stereo types in movies (those might be bad examples considering they play the same types of characters (martial artist) in Hong Kong cinema, too.)
