@howrude88 it was always planned to be a spinoff....they just aired the "pilot" during JAG, to get that fan base. Sort of like what they did with NCIS Los Angeles.

i cant help noticing that Tony is a lot more relaxed here with Gibbs than in NCIS. Notice he says, "I was there, man," to Gibbs, and later on he says, "Funny, Gibbs." In NCIS he normally addresses Gibbs as "Boss." Lol love this dude. I'm pretty sure they didn't knw there was going to be a spin off, and the most successful spin off of all time. Wow.

I wish I'd seen these episodes!!! It's the beginning of NCIS! Which, of course, was underappreciated at the time. And now that it's TV's #1 show, a lot of people are probably looking at these clips and going "UGH! I WISH I COULD'VE SEEN THAT!":P:P

It's the introduction Of Gibbs, Tony and Abby, for Pete's sake! It's a HITORIC moment in TV history!!!:P:P:P

Ice Queen and Meltdown are both JAG episodes. So you could rent the dvd. I can't remember which season, but it was about 6 or 7 years ago.

It is from JAG Season 8. The two episodes that NCIS was introduced was Episode 20 "Ice Queen" and Episode 21 "Meltdown" NCIS is basically a spin off of JAG and these were the only episodes that featured NCIS characters Gibbs, Tony, Abby and company.

I love NCIS! Next to my top favorite, SUPERNATURAL, it takes second spot! They came up with the perfect crew Gibbs, Dinozzo, Ducky, Ziva, McGee, Abs, even Palmer is perfect for the role!!! Would have loved Agent Todd in the show too, but Ziva is just amazing, she grew on me...^-^ I love Tony!!!

It's both in JAG Ice Queen is the NCIS Spinoff Part 1 and Meltdown is the Spinoff Part 2 these 2 episodes is what started the great show which we all know and love, 4 more days till season 6!! Tuesday on CBS @ 8:00

@sweetypie1988a jag was the tv show in america about lawyers in the navy, ncis is a spinoff from it, it was season 8 in jag that ncis were introduced. its very different now though, gibbs talks less and tony would never refer to giggs as "man".

i'd never think that ncis would become my favorite show when i saw the pilot on JAG, cause this was my favorite show at the time.

she was unable to deal with the death of her brother and kept screwing up so Gibbs fired her. she pretty much blew an opp and almost got Gibbs blown up at teh end of meltdown.
