I am proud to be a member however I don't want someone like yourself representing me or the program of recovery as a whole. That is what the tradition is about. Obviously you are sill so stuck in "self" that you don't think of others at all. Luckily that is not the program of recovery that I participate in. Someone who needs help might see this and actually think that some crude, foul mouthed, arrogant, sick person is our representative and represents the fellowship as a whole. Sad actually.

Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions are suggestions not rules, yes they are suggestions. It is difficult to violate a suggestion. Attraction is what you see is what you get in fellowship, some days its good, some days its bad. Attraction is key to newcomers who are not interested in the difference between attraction and promotion in early days. If we make rules and make laws, we make guarantees, and that is promotion. Attraction good, promotion bad because it sets AA up to fail. Strong video :)

Perhaps more time spent studying the Big Book would be productive and profitable than the traditions. "We've got to quit fighting everybody and everything." "When you are pointing a finger, there are three pointing at you."

Maybe you want to hear that stuff, maybe you don't. None of it is original. If you don't like someone in "the program", keep coming back because one of you will change.

Joan You are correct about the 12 steps being suggested, however the 12 traditions of NA are not negotiable, so My suggestion would be to go to a real NA meeting, arrive on time, sit down, and quietly listen to the readings at the beginning of the meeting.

Mike first I must say the Traditions were put on paper long before the internet came along & yes You Tube is at the level of press, radio, and films, however Your not the first to break a tradition & certainly will not be the last. You may hate Me for saying so but You broke The 11th tradition, however I live by Spiritual Principals & they include Unconditional Love & Forgiveness, so I forgive You. Also I must thank You for Your little rant, for it shows clean time does not equal recovery.
