There is a new section on the Alembic site where you can register this bass and see where it is in the production history of the company... or have you already done this?
I have a 76 series 1 and they are possibly the Bugatti of the Bass world. Rolls maybe too pedestrian.
Mine is # 75179. It's Zebrawood. Rick Turner told me that they only made three of those in that period. One of them went to Entwistle, I've got one and ... the other?
Dont wanna show my cards but I got a good deal. I bought it from a guy who used to work at Rick Turners shop named Bill Asher. It's been down for a couple of years but I'm planning to get it worked on in the couple of months. Just needs some electrical work....
I saw the great bassist Alex Blake in 1976 with a Zebrawood long-scale Series I. Might be the third one???? (And, if you've never seen Alex do is thing ---electric OR acoustic--- you have missed some PHENOMENAL bass work!)
Very nice. I once owned a Series I, serial number 7412 which I believe made it the 12th bass ever built by Alembic. I remember that it had brown pickups and a more rounded top and bottom horn.
Nice!

Thanks for your comment. I bet your Zebrawood model looks good. Our serial numbers are close. Mine is #75-171.

Wow! That IS close...! I'd love to see a picture of it. What kind of wood is it?

My Carl Radle bass is Walnut and the center stripe (neck thru wood) is maple and purpleheart.

Thank you for putting this video up. Great to see & hear about Mr Radle's bass & his old band members from the 1970's. Cheers, Deltachris.
