@slickshoesken Yes, they really had an axe to grind against Omni. I don't know why, but they tried their best to harass flight operations. In my experience, something like that usually means there was a quarrel or conflict over something. People don't do stupid things for no reason. If you see Omni now, you'll see that one of the light posts on top of the overpass is perfectly aligned with the runway, haha! Someone really pissed someone off, I guess. Thanks for the comment!!
@tonetriv yeah i could hear capt cheks' comments and laughter here.. hahaha i trained there back in 2005-06. back then they used a backhoe parked right where the cranes are here with the boom and bucket extended upwards to harass us but i guess they realized it didn't work and replaced it with the much longer cranes here which i see is during 2007 already.

Yes, like the tight right turn to the old Kai Tak airport :-)
The overpass is done. Omni displaced the runway 02 Omni threshold by 200 meters, I think, and extended it by 200 meters at the other end.
