One of the best features is that it isnt an iphone! apple seem like a selfish, controlling child.

The N900 seems like a revelation in flexibility and useability. To have firefox on it with tabs allows the most to be made of the internet, and with open source the possibilities are that much wider.

I hope this will end the dominance of iphone

I personally had an N-Gage.. lol what a disappointment that turned out to be! Used to look like a twat when attempting to make a call on it too.

All the N-Gage stuff is available on pretty much every S60 phone now. Will probably get ported to N900 too.. although I'm interested in seeing what the Maemo community can code for it, already seen a working SNES emulator. *thumbs up*

Seriously though, the n900 doesn't even lag... and before you go on about some of the videos on youtube showing it lag, bar in mind those are pre-production concept models with buggy firmware, hence the long wait for release while they finish the release software. The iPhone was no different when it was shown at trade shows just before it launched.

Depends really, because I've heard the Nokia stores can service a phone while you wait most of the time. Software updates are rolled out more regularly than most major manufactures but are region/network specific - so some places get updated before others.

The main problem with Nokia's in the past was the Symbian operating system. Which is why Maemo 5 is a deal-sealer for me.

I've never owned an iPhone but I've used them a lot in my job, since I work in a phone shop with demo units.
