Sony A77 will do 12 fps. Ok ok, not full frame and not as good in low light. But for everything else it's better.

The first second it will do 12 fps, after that 1-2 fps, good luck, shooting 1 second burst

@jajamaarten You can shoot at a slightly lower fps for a lot longer. The 12 fps is in extreme mode. I think, but I'd have to look up to know what the exact number is, that in 10 fps it'll go much longer, and 8 fps even longer.

@cachurchill76 they're actually the same. the sentence (Canon is better/Nikon is better) is totally wrong, they're just equal, despite that each brand has it's own insulation features, for big 2 examples, Nikon has HDR feature which Canon doesn't have, Canon has higher quality video shooting over the Nikon. at the end that's not the point, it's the shooter's idea is what all about, I'm a Canon user, however I would use Nikon too alongside Canon to experience both.

@AldossariEOS I have used both as I'm fortunate enough to have access to more gear than I can shake a messy stick at. For me the choice was forced when the D3s came out as despite a portion of my work being motor sport the main stay is live music and lowlight commercial reportage. The high usable ISO on the D3s gives it the edge on the Mkiv. D3s has really changed the way I work. Both great' each will suite the user in different way. And I like the clack noise from the Nikon ;-)

@cachurchill76 D3s is very decent Nikon & I'm really inspired of it. as for me, I really don't recommend getting the most and/or more expensive DSLR, I prefer getting semi-cheap or cheap DSLR such as 550D from Canon or D7000 from Nikon (bodies only) and save money for lenses.

I'm not sure about that camera in particular, but for most cameras the resolution is lowered a little bit when taking burst photos. It'd probably be like 16 MP or something.
